Love Stage!! (2020)

Me fez rir, e isso já valeu a pena

Eu ja sabia que ia vir algo meio absurdo desse filme, e veio mesmo. A atuação é completamente exagerada, do jeitinho que só os j-dramas conseguem entregar, e ao invés de me incomodar, foi justamente o que me fez amar. Tem aquele tom teatral, quase cartunesco, que beira o bobo em alguns momentos, mas se você entra no clima, é impossível não se divertir.

A história é simples e fiel ao anime até certo ponto, um ator famoso se apaixona por um garoto que ele achava que era garota, rola confusão de identidade, crise de sexualidade e muito drama pastelão. Tudo muito rápido, tudo muito intenso, tudo com caras e bocas. Mas funciona. Não como algo profundo ou memorável, mas como uma comédia romântica leve, doidinha e com coração.

Não vou mentir, já vi coisa bem melhor nos últimos dias. Mas Love Stage!! me arrancou sorrisos, me deixou entretida e até me fez rir com algumas situações completamente fora da realidade. É bobo, é exagerado, mas eu amei.

Pleasantly surprised

So before watching this film I read some of the reviews on here as well as other websites and honestly they weren't that great. People complained about the bad acting and terrible writing, so with reason I was reluctant to give this a try, but I did. As I watched I kept waiting for the "bad acting" and "terrible writing" many reviewers claimed was an issue. In my opinion the writing was pretty solid and the acting was actually very good, lowkey better than some of the acting in the most popular BL's. Yes the acting is very over the top and exaggerated but that's how it's supposed to come across as this is apparently adapted from a Manga. Long story short I think this was a really cute BL. The story could've used a little more substance but it did fairly well. I think this is a prime example of how you should not allow reviews discourage you from giving a film or series a chance and experiencing it for yourself.
