A Truly Perfect and Entertaining Rom Com E-Sports Drama
I don’t have words to describe my feelings towards this drama. It was so exceptionally perfect that I have nothing to compare it with. I remember when I watched Go Go Squid and thought “that was great, let me look at some similar shows,” this showed up, but I don’t know why I kept pushing watching this drama back expecting it to not be my cup of tea. Then I watched “The King’s Avatar,” and again this drama showed up as a recommendation, but I refused to watch it thinking I wasn’t going to like it. Literally after a year of avoiding this drama I finally decided to watch it because I had nothing I liked to watch so I was like whatever what can I loose. This drama is perfect, right off the bat I was completely invested in it. I loved the soundtrack, the cast, the storyline, the production. This is outstanding work truly. To put it simply it is the best of both worlds of “the King’s Avatar” and “Go Go Squid”, it took these two awesome dramas and created a perfect love child that is even better than its predecessor. I know I am ranting and nobody cares but truly the actors and producers deserve much love for creating this beautiful drama. I wish we could have a look at the World Tournament 😂. It’s just my wishful thinking desiring a sequel. Was this review helpful to you?
Probably the best Chinese Drama I’ve watched
The title is correct. From the actors, to the plot, to the animation of the fights in the game, to the glimpse into online haters. I enjoyed everything about this show. It’s one that you rewatch every few months instead of watching all the shows you haven’t finished. I’ve finished everything I wanted to say so now I’m really just trying to reach the 500 character limit. I honestly want to rewatch it right now. I hope to see the ml in more modern dramas because older dramas aren’t really my thing, but he really shined in this one. The fl was as wonderful as I expected. Give me a different drama with the same exact cast, I wouldn’t mind. Definitely recommended. Was this review helpful to you?
Well-written youth drama with content and fluff (win-win)
Story:-The story follows two esports players who aimed to win the championship. ML is a top veteran player, captain of zqdx, and handsome, rich, and perfect. The FL is a newbie into the esports professional world. She is pretty, talented, and liked by all (or at least most). She joins the team and this is their adventure to the top.
-The dialogues are witty and a testament to what a capable writer can do to a drama ( Ps: The dialogues follow the novel, I personally loved but are criticized for plagiarism).
-Again it's almost very loyal to the novel, so it had a solid base and as someone who loves books, this drama did justice to its source, very much so.
Characters:
-The entire world of this drama is relatively free of typical antagonists. The side characters were so much fun and made of a bunch of goofballs. Special mention to little fatty who was traumatized by the two leads PDA. His expressions are priceless. hahaha. Lu Yue (ML's brother) taking his phone out any second leads merely touch each other. Cat who is slow to understand the situation. Old not so old K who is a self-care guide. Xia Rui is basically their housekeeper.
- Character growth existed here, but it was not the focus of the drama and not very prominent.
-Also, I was confused between the names of FL's ex -Jian yang (aka Yang god), and FL's best friend- Jin yang. The side could Jin yang and Ai Jia were also cute. Can I say how much I loved the FL's friend. She was like the male version of Ml lol. 10/10 had a crush on her.
Acting:
Xu Kai did an amazing job of portraying the character. I love him, his past dramas Arsenal military academy is one of my faves.
The minute change in expressions, nuances, and oh god his eyes! so very expressive. I could keep on looking at his eyes go soft when looking at FL. FL suited the drama in terms of appearance, the height is adorable, but she is still leagues away in terms of acting. She looked very cute but yeah acting wasn't for the best.
-The animations were very good. I loved seeing them play through their game personas. The terms and positions of the game might be confusing at the beginning. I only understood clearly after playing two matches of the game on the phone.(Ps : Apparently the animations of the game shown in the drama is not a pc game but a mobile game)
Romance:
The romance between the leads was not exactly' hate to love', more like snarkiness to love. They end up arguing a lot.
And it would definitely make you smile. A lotttttt.Their relationship was always teased by other roommates, and they do their payback after leads get together. XD And yes not much annoying third-party interference. They have almost no conflicts.
Thoughts:
The main focus here is about the team going forward in the championship. Romance is drama free and weaved along the story. This drama is adorable with a memorable cast and an engaging story. Amidst the cliches of modern Chinese drams, this one is certainly a very well-wrote, packed, and all-rounded drama. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting fluff with content or even just in a mood to watch a drama.
Rewatch value: 8
Even though I know what's gonna happen, the journey was all this drama is about. So rewatch value is quite high.
What are you waiting for? Go watch!

Such an amazing drama
I loved both the gaming and the romance part ahhhh the main couple for so damn cute and mature and I loved how it the male lead was protective and how we could see them falling in love it wasn’t sudden we could see their feelings changing or them subtly showing how much they liked the other. I have finished the drama and rewatched it again for their cute moments I cannot get over this drama I am obsessed. Also it has xu kai one of my fav actors. He’s amazing and the female lead was prefect not too cringey or those childish ones. Honestly if you wondering whether to watch it or not watch it you won’t regret it. I am in loveWas this review helpful to you?
A good drama for binge watching
At first I hesitated watching this drama because I never played video games and do not understand how they work, however, I became interested because of Cheng Xiao, as I've seen her in variety shows and she seems like a fun person. The storyline is very good, but nothing new, but that's what makes this drama easy to watch and understand. I've watched 3 gaming drama and this is the first time I understand what the gaming is about. The story is about a life of professional e-sport gamer and a public figure. I thought the netizens responses in the drama were exaggerated, I didn't realize how accurate it is and realistic to the point that it is scary. I think this drama really shows how scary toxic fans can be, and how hard it is to be a public figure.
There are still rooms for improvements though, I find some of the scenes pretty cringy, but it really depends on viewer's taste. I gave 8/10 for acting because I think Cheng Xiao's acting skill still needs improvement. Tong Yao's character is innocent and calm, but innocent and calm people have different facial expressions. On the first few episodes, Cheng Xiao's facial expressions are flat, but thankfully she improved and got better in later episodes.

NO REASON TO SAY NO!!!
well ...what to say I am amazed by how a drama can have no faults to point them out. I just loved it.even the story was so normal and predictable but I just couldn't stop myself from watching it and completing it ASAP.there was a point that I was afraid that the drama will end. I never wanted it to end. I have watched so many dramas but this is the first time I think that I want to say that it wud have been better I the show was still on.
when it comes to the acting and cast... I was just mesmerized by all of them especially the leads. there were so many sweet moments but they were never too much as they were in PYHOMS. I just loved the leads and all the other actors. there was no such actor or character in the story that I can say was useless or just a side chick. they never kept any twist permanent. and there were so many new turns in the drama that kept me hooked. I would love to watch it again.
music was also okay. and the comedy was also too good... I just loved their comic timing and cheng ge's' I will u cut u off' the look was MUAH.
all I want to say now is that yes this was something which I found much similar to one of the fab dramas LOVE O2O and I want ANOTHER SEASON . just loved it!!!!

Repeat for 100 times !
1st it is relatable if you’re a gamers too.2st the ML n FL are just too cute together.
3rd. There are some ep where the idiocy of ML just come out. Or the FL just make you annoyed. But hey. That is how human are. We’re not perfect aren’t we.
4th. They took 20 ep to be in relationship. But behold ! Cause those 20ep full of cute scene and flirting and hinting and bickering or joking.
5th. So good to see each character development. Including others supporting characters.
6th. Love how the plot. The scene. The cinematography. The characters. And ALL. Except for the OST which is not really can be heard. Huhu

Recomendo!

Fun and low budget series
Life is too short for stressful drama. Why spend all that time watching and be stressed? Don’t our lives already provide enough of that?Summary of the series:
- Light hearted rom/com; series had great flow
- simpatico characters
- there were villains but not too stressful from them, there are some long struggles, calamity and miscommunications to cause more drama and some stress
- story was good, but the ending felt rushed
- for some reason, I thought this series was so low budget
still joyful, somewhat stressless series: recommended to watch for sure

Please note that this is my personal view and opinion, and I do not mean to insult anyone with a varying judgmentFalling into your smile was my first c-drama, giving it a very valuable place in my heart. I have rewatched this drama countless times, and it has been my comfort drama for years. That said, I won't be biased with my review.
As sweet and funny as this drama is, it is still extremely cringe. When I first watched it in 2023, I thought it was a masterpiece, but looking back, it's pretty corny. They made Tong Yao's entire personality revolve around the fact that she's short, petite, and childish, sure she got a few moments when she was seen as hardworking, willful, and caring, but its not comparable since Lu Si Cheng was painted as a responsible, cold-hearted, and nonchalant guy who doesn't soften on anyone, giving them a "father and daughter" type of relationship. Also, the power difference between them isn't slim; they weren't fair with the personalities at all. The actors' chemistry is nonexistent; Xu Kai had better chemistry with wang yi jun.
The plot was written really nicely, just not executed in the best way. They shouldn't have written her as the first female esports player or a girl living alone with a bunch of guys; it was honestly straight out of Wattpad. The empowerment of females in male-dominated fields was refreshing to see.
The soundtrack honestly wasn't Spotify-worthy, but it went with the fluffy theme of the show.
One thing i really liked was the relationship and dynamic of the ZGDX team, everyone's reaction to Ming's retirement, them welcoming Lu Yue back, them celebrating, helping K with his family drama, singing and drinking together, and noticing the small things about each other, which honestly gave them all a sibling-like relationship.
The cinematics here didn't even try; it felt more like we were watching a short drama, still, it was a smart choice to cast Xu Kai as Lu Sicheng and Zhou Ri Yan as Ai Jia.

My favourite C-drama to date
Let me state from the outset that I'm all about romance when it comes to K/J/C-dramas and until now no one did romance better than K-dramas. (Hollywood lost the plot when it comes to romance years ago). This drama blew most other out of the water as far as I'm concerned. Until now my (limited) experience with C-dramas was a seemingly uninterested ML who acts like the FL is somehow beneath him and who shows the minimal amount of affection. Finally however we have a ML who is openly affectionate and doesn't see the FL is a nuisance.
The ML cares about the FL's feelings. emotional well being, future and career in a very obvious way. The ML doesn't play games nor does he try to be cool in front of her or the public. I'm swooning.
A lot of C-dramas make FL's who are either total klutz's or who can do no wrong. In this story the FL is hardworking and smart, but she is in no way superhuman. She makes mistakes and grows as a character (just like the ML). The ML is a bit older and he has been a leader for a while, so it makes sense that he is a bit more mature etc. However none of them are caricatures.
The side characters were also like able if a bit one dimensional (ie a fatty who only cares about food and a gym rat who is dumb...). Although I skipped much of the actual matches I didn't skip episodes even though there are 31 of them. I didn't get bored halfway through and it kept my attention with various side stories until the end.
If you like romance and can sit through 31 episodes I would give the this a try.
Will 100% re-watch this in the future.
