ATOTS
How do you review A Tale of Thousand Stars when your main memories are crying, staring at mountains, and screaming "JUST KISS ALREADY" at your screen? This show really said, "What if we took a rich city boy, gave him an existential crisis, dropped him in the mountains, introduced him to the hottest forest ranger alive, and let emotional devastation do the rest?"
Tian arrived in Pha Pun Dao with absolutely no survival skills and somehow left with an entire village adopting him as their emotional support teacher.
And Phupha?
Captain Phupha.
The king of yearning.
The emperor of staring lovingly from a distance.
The CEO of saying absolutely nothing while somehow saying everything.
Earth and Mix didn't have chemistry. They had atmospheric pressure changes every time they looked at each other.
Their love story wasn't built on grand confessions or dramatic gestures.
It was built on:
sharing meals,
teasing each other,
teaching children,
fixing things together,
and making eye contact so intense it should probably have required supervision.
The villagers stole my heart, the children owned my soul, and Longtae deserved hazard pay for dealing with everyone else's nonsense.
And can we talk about Director Aof for a second? Because that man didn't direct a series.
He orchestrated emotional warfare.
The cinematography turned northern Thailand into the most beautiful place on earth. Every mountain, every sunrise, every lantern, every field looked like it belonged in a painting.
The soundtrack? Illegal.
Every song arrived precisely when it needed to emotionally destroy you.
A Tale of Thousand Stars wasn't a BL.
It was therapy.
It was a spiritual experience.
It was a travel advertisement.
It was emotional support television.
10/10.
Would absolutely move to Pha Pun Dao, teach at the village school, and watch these two idiots fall in love all over again.

Kicking my legs and giggling all the way!
Awe man I just finished this and I'm just so happy I invested my time in this. I usually hate shows that have hour long episodes but I looooooove shows that can make that hour go by fast and this show man god damn. Perfect. Everything just fell into place all the time. I was worried about some aspects like would they do the dumbass liar reveal trope thing? Which they did but they handled it well by having everyone react realistically: grieving the loss of Torfun.I was also worried about the slow burn aspect but hehehe it was so good!!! It was so worth the wait when they finally got together and smooched and the romance build up flowed organically.
Even the more out there aspects of the show fit in. The whole smuggling thing? Foreshadowed throughout the show and that's just an example. Some people might get annoyed at the product placement but I didn't mind them.
The soundtrack btw GOD DAMN WAS IT LOVELY. It was soothing and beautiful and damn it I just really liked this show. I cried, I laughed, I kicked my legs and giggled even though I'm a fully grown man. I'm kissing this show on the forehead happily.

I love me some juicy character development
The average was 9.1 out of 10 stars. It was good. Was I really confused for like first 3 episodes because I am anti-reading descriptions? Yes, yes, I was really confused. I started to understand it, and then I kept getting turned on my head and getting even more confused. I am once again looking through my Instagram close friend story to see how confused I was 19 days ago when I started watching this. I kind of forgot what happened in episode one. My brain tuned it out, lol. Yeah, I can't find my reactions to episode 1, lol. I rewatch shows too much. All I remember is that I was very confused. On June 15th, at 7:44 p.m., I got back into the show. And the reason was because I wanted to watch the goofy ass our Skyy 2 Bad Buddy x Tale of a Thousand Stars episodes. Great reason, I know. These two have some pretty good chemistry, so I will give it to them. My brain was struggling to wrap its head around what happened. Like it wasn't making any sense whatsoever. They could have done a better job explaining it because I refuse to read descriptions and just go based on random edits I saw at three in the morning on YouTube shorts.
I saw some familiar actors, so that was fun. Tian wasn't that likeable at the start. We are sort of forced to like whoever the drama starts off with. Just by default, even if we don't like their character, we are kind of forced to fall for them. And fall I did. Tian went from a careless, selfish rich kid to a selfless rich kid. He had some juicy character development. It was great, and I love when dramas build characters like that.
At first, I thought Torfun didn't actually die, and I thought she was going to come back and be like, "Omg, you can have him" and Bam happy ever after. Side note: she is dead. Dead as hell. It tells you that in the description, probably, so I am not actually spoiling anything, I guess.
Tian has heart issues, and that is his downfall. because that's what kills him. Or "kills" him. He is kind of a spoiled brat, and it's irritating. But Chief (I am going to be so deadass I don't even know his name) Phupha didn't put up with it like everyone else, and he shut that down. I mean, go off. That started off their dynamic and kind of made me fall in love with the characters. Chief Phupha had some good developments as well. He went from uptight, annoyed, and cold to uptight, less annoyed, and in love. Juicy character development
They had some really great microphones in this, and I could hear every single thing. Like everything else, it wasn't even funny. Good on them for the microphones, I guess. I wrote this in one of my episode reviews: "And last time bro drank, his heart stopped, so I would not trust him with alcohol. Bottoms up, more like bottoms down." Yeah. No tears were shed because in the parts where I should have been crying, I was half asleep and just confused.
There were a lot of cliffhangers in the episodes, and I feel bad for everyone who waited for them to come out instead of just grinding it out in one day.
Yeah, so a rich kid's car hits this teacher, and the parents cover it up because that's what rich people do. And that's about it. It was a good show and a pretty easy watch until like episodes 8, 9, and 10 lol. Otherwise, it was good. It wasn't too long or too short. It was just right, lol. Okay, I am watching Bad Buddy with Skyy, so I can watch the goofy ass cross-over episode. That's it; I would recommend this one. Okay bye!

Forever My Favorite
I want to start off by saying I've watched this show some time ago, just as I read the novel around the same time. This series is SO MUCH MORE than a bl. It has a solid plot and awesome acting.
It teaches the importance of life and how you can live to be a better person, as it's never too late to become the better version of yourself.
I find Tian's character to be one of the best BL characters ever written, and I was able to prove my point not only thanks to Mix's acting ( who perfectly captured Tian's existence and brought it to life), but also thanks to the novel — which was amazingly adapted by GMMTV and P'Aof.
The show can be understood as a lone piece, managing to pass down such a strong message through the portrayal of love.
Clearly, this isn't your series if all you're looking for is hot actors playing gay for the camera.
Though, the romantic scenes are still present and so heartwarming.
Earth and Mix are a fantastic match, and it shows. Their bond is so sweet, they're comfortable around each other and truly care for one another.
Nonetheless this show is truly amazing and perfect in every way.
Many people would disagree, but I find this to be EarthMix's best project.
For months, I've kept on watching other shows. Not only thai bls, but in general.
Yet, this always held a special place in my heart, to the point I'd say I'm part of its own fandom.
A tale of a thousand stars is a true gem that everyone should watch at lest once in their life 💗

just omg.......... i fell in love with this
i didnt actually intend to watch this. It was on a recommendation list and yea i wasnt that excited about it so i forgot about it. Then i was watching bad buddy (another great bl btw) and i was itching for more. I started watching our skyy 2. just so happens they entwined pran and pats story with phu and tians story. So anyway i watched it and yea i got to know tian and phu and was just dying to watch it. i watched it and i wasnt disappointed. It had everything ive ever looked for in a bl. It is my new favourite. The actors couldnt have been better. They portrayed tian and phu perfectly. As for the music i never really pay attention to it. Well not the words at least. I really liked phus playing of the flute???? or whatever its called. im really sorry but i forgot what it was called. But anyway he played it beautifully.Overall 10 out of 10. Absolutely loved it.

A bit disappointed.. and it doesn't go well with my logic-
I knew that people think differently, so I will respect the writer's POV in this matter, but I still don't like it.But this series is really well made and the story are nice and its fun searching for possible scenario with the minimal clues. It was fluffy yet still a drama that gets my heart racing whenever Tian gets in trouble. This is a story with a nice plot and I can fell the character's development within the story and how the cast moves and act.
!!!!! SPOILER !!!!!
First! I don't get why the story keep stating that Tian still responsible for Torfun's death. That, even though he wasn't the one who drove the car, he still "give the weapon".
Its like, if I lend my friend my knives so they can help me cut some vegetables but they accidentally use it to stab people instead, but its still my fault that he holds the weapon. Which didn't go well with my logic. I lend it for them to help me, without any ill intention and ill-goal. For its a person who control the knives. I know that Tian give his friend a prize if he win the match which can become an act of encouragement, but it is still not to encourage to kill people.
And I understand if Tian blame himself for "giving the weapon" which is nice so that the Chief could console him, BUT! NO, the chief didn't deny the thought that Tian did "gives the weapon". Which bring me to my next disappointment,
The 9th episode where Chief tries to console Tian, I kept on waiting for Chief to apologize to Tian for making such rushed decision, jumping into conclusion, or even apologize for involving Tian in his unsolved matter with Sakda (the antagonist). Which is a bit different from his stern character, but it could show how he treasure Tian you could even sugar coat it with how when he almost died, apologizing to Tian is what he want to do.
Dam, I'm so mad that I curse at the the Chief.

A Journey Worth Taking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Tale of a Thousand Stars is such a beautiful show. It's one of those series that completely pulls you into its world. Watching it felt like I was living in that small rural community alongside everyone, experiencing their everyday lives and becoming a part of their world. The storytelling is amazing. It never feels rushed, and every scene has a purpose. The directing makes everything feel so real and immersive that you stop feeling like you're watching a show and simply enjoy living in it for a while.
Earth and Mix were amazing. Their performances felt so natural, and their chemistry was beautiful to watch. The cinematography is stunning, and the emotions throughout the show feel genuine and heartfelt. This one is definitely worth watching.

Was this review helpful to you?
I won't say it was worth it
Over all i liked the story line! was something new but just like most of other gmmtv shows there was a need for improvement. in some scenes over all the series was good but at some scenes it went dull like there where major ups and downs in the acting and the storyline. it was not consistent with the acting and story. earth and mix are great actors they just need a better script to showcase their talent because this series didn't attract my attention enough to watch other earthmix series..But it depends on person to person you might like it..

Beautiful story
I may be 3 years late in watching this series. Have been binge-watching it in two days. Love it. Love the story, love the acting, love the music. I have both main leads in Midnight Chicken before watching this. Love how the lead characters have different personalities in each series.I liked the surprises we all got at the end. If Tian was hiding a secret which he revealed towards the end, little did we know that Chief Phupha was also hiding a secret all along. Among the supporting actors, I liked Dr. Nam a lot. I like the Khama, the village head, and the school children. Interesting to know that the villagers are speaking in a dialects, as I noticed there were subtitles in Thai (I also read that Mix is actually fluent in this dialect, but since the role he played as Teacher Tian from Bangkok, he never used this dialect in the series)
Overall I loved the story, although towards the end (episodes 8-9) some scenes seemed to be a bit slow, which could be shortened, and sometimes become a not too melodramatic.
Something not too important, but I couldn't help notice is that Tian came to the village bringing a medium-sized backpack. How come he has so many different outfits throught the series. We rarely see him wear the same clothes in different episodes :-)

could be one of the best dramas GMMTV has produced
First of all, you already know it's going to be good when it's an EarthMix drama. This drama could easily be one of the best dramas GMMTV has produced (and that says a lot with some bangers GMMTV has dropped over the years). ATOTS has many likable characters and it's hard to hate a lot of them. A lot of the character's anger in the later episodes makes a lot of sense and the anger doesn't seem to be there just to be there.Going to the acting, Mix as Tian stood out to me the most. Mix is a great actor in general in my opinion since he can portray emotions and looks like he is feeling t for himself. Earth also stood out to me since his anger in later episodes felt genuine, and you can feel it through the screen.
