Warm and endearing but loses its spark in the latter half
This has a simple plot - two dedicated professionals navigating how to build a life together despite the demands of their work. I found Mi Ka and Xing Ke Lei to be likeable characters and rooted for them. I enjoyed the first half of the drama the most! It had lots of tension and swoon-worthy scenes between the MCs leading up to their confession. Their dynamic was not as erratic nor intense as the second lead couple (and I agree that this type of quiet, slow burn is not for everyone), but I loved how they calmly communicated their feelings and tried to understand each other better after every bump. I can't recall a time where the leads shouted at each other or purposefully said something upsetting to retaliate when they weren't in the best terms. Their love was grounded with respect and the shared understanding that in order to be together, they had to compromise. I also really liked the scenes between Mika-Xia, Dr. Shao-Mika and Kelei-Keyao.. very natural!Unfortunately, the latter half was no longer as charming. I felt like they came up with filler scenes and annoying characters to make up for the 40-episode length. They kept churning out problems that kept the leads apart only to reconcile them with the most underwhelming gestures. I no longer felt the yearning and warmth we had in the first 20-ish episodes.. I get that they're supposed to be in a comfortable, secure relationship already but at times it felt a bit too distant? like their exchanges felt more like they were friends compared to the earlier episodes? I'm not sure if the blame is on the delivery, direction or just the script itself.
Good cinematography! The action scenes were fun to watch. The music was not very memorable though :(
Final verdict: it can be very good in the first half, and you can keep it that way if you choose not to go past 20 episodes. I had fun watching this and I teared up over a few heartwarming dialogues between the MCs.. Bai Jingting and Ma Sichun are very talented actors. If you are fluent in hospital/police procedures, you have to suspend your disbelief a bit to believe some of the stuff.. but nothing too ridiculous. I don't see myself rewatching the whole thing again it's too long 😭, but I did grow fond of the MCs and think about their love from time to time. :_)

Unexpectedly Good ... SOOooOoO Good
It was a 10 until ep 31.I love the ML and FL in different dramas but their pairing initially was questionable to me as the age gap looked a bit much. He looks 10 years younger and She looks her real age but surprisingly their chemistry was very good. In addition the supporting couple is so cute as well. Strong start to the drama with lots of laughs and sweet moments already. So far no nasty characters and there's a lot of human factor to the story. By that I mean no characters you just want to skip kind.
The story started off with an intense life turning moment for the lead characters followed by 2 years of break. They meet again in the oddest way only happen in drama land with some unavoidable misunderstandings. I love that she's strong, not needing to be rescued weak girl. She gets injured and can handle the pain, not the "O I cut my finger boy need to carry me kind". She has her weakness but she doesn't give up. Soon he sees the fighting spirit and grew fond of her. Their conversations are entertaining so kudos to the script writers!
More over there are a lot of subtle humor. My favorite ones:
1. Ep 1: "What , rice? that's a last name? " FL while holding a bomb "What can I do if my dad's last name is rice?"
2. Staring contest between the leads, the background is blurred out but if you pay attention to the background you'll crack up laughing.
3. FL and the director looking at an animal brain RAW!!! then she orders cooked intestine "here you go this, its something you regularly operate on."
so many more!!!
Sadly ep 31 came and annoying characters introduction ruined the drama wasted about 5 ep. Characters/ story line was totally not needed.

Just watch
It is a good drama with a mature romantic relationship, very refreshing.Love that FL and ML handled their romance problem with mutual understanding and good communication flow.
I really love Dr Mi Ka's character that appears to be a gentle, wise, and smart doctor. The Xing Ke Lei character is quite good too.
The storyline is quite long, but not draggy at all.
Some believe that this drama resembles DOTS. But IMO, I prefer this to DOTS. DOTS is too dramatic.
Just watch it. You won't regret it.

This is a very nice drama in matters of representation of the leadings couple’s lives and interactions with those around them. The drama has two different plot lines, the law enforcement life of the male lead as a member of the SWAT team and the medical life of the female lead as a member of the neurosurgical department at Renxin Hospital, intertwined with a slow burned and cute romance between the main couple. The main couple has a nice chemistry when they are going out and about on their playful interactions as well as when they truly decided to communicate their feelings and ongoing situations but their romantic chemistry lacks zest so, mainly, they were really cute together. Family and friends’ interaction were nice and well acted and, although the drama has some good action scenes, the romance could’ve been better. Overall, it is a nice show but not amazing. Not sure if it's a spoiler!!
This drama is simply amazing but I an still looking for the turmoil in Africa which was stated in the plot summary. No one's talking about it. Donno y ! I hope we'll get a season 2 soon!! However the good thing is, I really enjoyed the drama. The maturity and understanding between the leads are too good and natural. Not to mention Sandra Ma's acting is amazing . She didn't fail to make the audience laugh in any episodes and also made many of us cry, Ik. Still not sure if the drama is really over or is there more to happen. Really can't wait to see more!!!Was this review helpful to you?

IT's more than a romance drama
Some people will not like it because it's a medical drama. Some people will not like it because it's a Police drama. Some will not like it maybe a romantic drama. They all would be wrong. The story line is much more than all of them. Some will not like it because the Male Lead is not portrayed as a demeaning to females, who is rich , spoiled , arrogant nor can not get his butt whipped. Some people well not because the Female Lead is portrayed as a weak mind, jerk me around, get in my face and I'll follow you. This is a well produced Storyline. The cast are awesome. The main plot and subplots are well done. Even the Subplots have Subplots. The way they blended Romance, Medical and Police together works. Just when you think it's going to be romantic, they switch it up on you. Even it's Hollywoodish, you are given an insight on SWAT and some of their tactics; as well as the hospital scenes. So far rivalries are shuttle and not over the top. The romantic scene puts a smile on your face.
The music score was great and on time. Thee scenery was fantastic.
Shu Wen Bo made me laugh so hard. He had no clue. It took 33 episodes to get a clue. There were so much chemistry among the cast members that most of them could of been Leading Males or Females. Like I said the romance was just a small portion of the Storyline. I can understand why it was a 40 episode Storyline. The Producers tied up the loose ends.
This Storyline was worth watching and I will watch it again.
I recommend this Storyline to be watch.

easily one of my favourite c-dramas :)
finished it last night and just wanted to say this is probably one of the best c-dramas i've seen. it's definitely more of a character-driven drama than plot-driven, which i think works in this drama's favour. even though there's 40 eps, it didn't feel overly dragged out and i found myself hardly skipping anything (rare for me with c-dramas lol). and yes, it does bear some resemblance to dots but you are my hero has its own charms that shouldn't be overshadowed by its similarities to another drama.i thought all the characters were really likeable and the way they depicted healthy, adult romantic relationships was really refreshing to see, especially in a c-drama. i actually laughed out loud several times throughout this show (c/o of shu wenbo, my favourite himbo) and swooned a LOT (men in uniforms, my kryptonite). if you want a sweet, non-stress inducing, chill rom-com drama which is still engaging then i recommend giving this one a try :)

Mi Ka is soooo cute sooo warm. ?
*** Spoiler Alert (PERSONAL FEEDBACK)Title : You Are My Hero – 2021 (Complete 40 Episode)
Personal Rating : 8.5/10
Xing Ke Lei (played Bai Jing Ting) is the handsome, charming, powerful and shy-type Captain of Tiger SWAT team.
Mi Ka (Played Ma Si Chun) is a Surgeon from Renxin Hospital. She is mentally strong and independent woman with a kind soul.
Freshly graduated doctor Mi Ka was at a jewelry store to purchase a gift for her parents when a jewel heist by armed robbers occurred. A special SWAT team was deployed to take control of the situation, and this was how Mi Ka met Special Forces Captain Xing Ke Lei when he helped diffuse an explosive situation. However, because Xing Ke Lei was in full combat uniform and had his face masked, she did not know what he looked like. A few years later, when finalizing her qualifications to be a full medical surgeon, Mi Ka decides to participate in a joint emergency rescue training exercise between her hospital & the police SWAT team and she unknowingly meets Captain Xing Ke Lei again. A relationship between them begins and eventually develops as they grow to learn more about each other and as they encounter various military and medical situations in future.
Personally, I think this drama has similarities with Descendant Of The Sun ( Korean Drama ) The law enforcement officer falling in love with a doctor is similar to DOTS. The truck dangling off the cliff, and the earthquake rescue mission is also similar to DOTS.
I discovered Bai Jing Ting from “Reset”. I really like his acting there, that’s why I watch almost all his dramas. In this drama he was ssssooooooo charismatic!😍 I thought it will not fit him to have a powerful police officer roles because of his cute small face but he is really fit for Xing Ke Lei role specially when he feels shy around MI KA. I can’t help but feel shy and blush too! and Mi Ka is soooo cute sooo warm. 😍She knows how to stand up for herself and does not let anyone walk over her. She is most realistic female lead I've watched so far.
Overall, it is one of the best modern dramas that I have watched. The story is a warm, light, sweet, comedy and realistic slice of life with a good balance of action. It is enjoyable. Their relationship was so mature and open. They always understand and communicate with each other. It was one of the most honest relationships I saw in dramas. Bai Jing Ting and Sandra Ma chemistry was one of the best and natural. So, I am happy that I watched this. And they have a happy ending too.❤️
GENRE – Modern, Romantic, Comedy
LEAD CAST – Bai Jing Ting , Ma Si Chun

so freaking good
I have to say I went in without any expectations but I am completely blown away with the whole setup by the first ep.First and foremost, the acting is really a job well done. Both actors are so natural and expressive in their body language and facial expression. I can tell many of their scenes where they are making jokes, they are actually laughing with each other which made it 10x sweeter than ever. Sad, scary, happy, anxious, nervous, cute and many more scenes were all executed to perfection. I felt their emotions in every situation they were in. All the other supporting actors did a terrific job as well, no couple is boring.
Secondly, the plot is great. But note that I didn't expect much from a rom-com so this has already exceeded what I had in mind. They didn't scrimp on their budget so everything is very well balanced. **spoiler** There's this scene where the FL, ML and ML's sister finally got back at the pair of annoying sisters and if that wasn't the best 10mins of my life, I don't know what is. *ends*
Lastly, 40 eps is a lot but there was never a boring episode. They don't butter you up with the optimistic, cringely cheerful mindset nor are there any nonsensical misunderstanding, breakups or whatever. This is exactly what you expect from 2 people of different worlds with the same sense of service for the people and an even more powerful love for each other.

A Down-to-Earth Love Story that Pulls No Big Surprises
The storyline of You Are My Hero is as steady and reliable as a policeman and a surgeon. The lack of huge drama and overly sweet teenage bopper romance makes this a very engaging and pleasant watch because almost everything is realistic and believable. There is good chemistry between Bai Jingting and Ma Sichun. Both of them pulled off a solid performance, especially Ma Sichun. I enjoyed watching her portrayal of the good-natured, bubbly and rather straightforward Dr. Mi Ka.
Dr. Mi Ka's BFF, Ruan Qingxia, however, I found quite irritating. This could boil down to the fact that the character is played by Jiang Peiyao and I recently saw her play a similar character in a different serial drama. It seems like every girl has to have that one well-intentioned BFF who is, seemingly, an expert in dealing with men and relationships. Despite having a troubled relationship of their own, they would not hesitate to dispense expert (and often completely unhelpful) advice to their own BFF. Ruan Qingxia appears to be the "it" girl for this sort of roles. Personally, I found it painful to watch Ruan Qingxia and Shu Wenbo navigate their relationship. That's where I'm eternally grateful for the fast-forward button.
Lastly, the melting of the ice cream uncle Dr. Shao Yuhan was convincingly presented by Wang Yang. His relationship with his old flame Xing Keyao revisited the point where they left off years ago and now having found each other again, I find the openness and frankness in their communications simply refreshing.

Nice drama
I watch this drama because I knew the FL from LMIFD...Whew i marathon for at least 3 days.
The story is really nice not to heavy, not much on details of their profession its nice combination of work and personal life. What their daily life and their profession can encounter. But I really wish they shorten it a bit by removing the parts where those re-flash that has been showed again..so to make it a bit short but i think it is a trend for chinese drama...
I think they have much similarity of theme style in Hospital Playlist telling a story of how your life and profession shown on a drama......

Best best drama ever!!!!!!!Glad i watched it❤❤ sad because it ended???
Okay I've been watching drama for quite a long time maybe 6 7 years but this is my first time writing a review ,normally i check the ratings and reviews before watching a drama .......this time i had to write a review because this drama is too good like seriously too good...Normally i like romance drama and thriller suspense and i watch cdrama because of its cute fluffy romance irrespective of its storyline cuz basically every storyline in cdrama is same rich man /poor woman, overbearing ceo with tragic past or something thn love triangle bitchy 2nd female lead and all this but this this particular drama touched my heart like seriously i agree there are some minor plot holes but common its a drama not reality and apart from that everyone everything every scene is perfect from humble male lead and female lead (like even if they are in a disagreement they argue so politely i really liked that aspect in this drama)to other 2 to main couples to other supporting cast every one did too well .Thoroughly pleased with this drama ❤❤❤❤❤💗❤❤Was this review helpful to you?
