Woof!! Its great!! :)) <3 <3
I wanted to watch a k drama that was filled with comedy, slice of life, romance, emotional scenes, good visuals and lastly friendship. It was hard to find a drama which satisfied all these criteria. But one fine afternoon i found this drama called "A Good Day To Be a Dog". And low and behold this is one of best k dramas that i have ever witnessed. This k drama is about a woman named Han Hae Na(Park Gyu Young), who works as a homeroom teacher and her family , due to one of their ancestors they have been cursed for generations. The curse causes her family, when they kiss someone, to turn into a dog at midnight for 6 hours. Afterwards, they revert back to their normal appearance. From the first episode itself i was already so into the storyline. Long story short, there are two male teachers in the school which Hae Na works in. Her first crush was Lee Bo Gyeom(Lee Hyun Woo) the History teacher. She then falls for Jin Seo Won(Cha Eun Woo) the Maths teacher. I wont say much because i want you to watch the drama and feel the happiness, sadness and excitement which i felt when i watched the drama. PS: This drama has such good visuals and the actors go so well together. All of the actors and actresses, the directors, producers, staff members and writers who took so much effort in making this drama a very successful one, Thank you so much!! Jukahaeyo!! Hwaiting!!!!!!Was this review helpful to you?

Deeply disappointing drama
This drama was fun enough at first, when dealing with the curse and getting to a point where our leads fall for each other, but the second half was a slog. The only saving grace of this show is that closet kiss. I was absolutely not expecting Cha Eun Woo to kiss like that! One of the best kisses I’ve ever seen in a kdrama. Though I need to point out that Park Gyu Young was phoning it in for her kisses in this drama. She had our ML do all the work, which is disappointing if you’ve seen her work in Dali And Cocky Prince.
Anyway, the major problem for me with this drama is that both leads aren’t that interesting. By the second half I had a hard time caring about them despite how much drama was thrown their way. The past life stuff was not interesting to me. The antagonist’s plan felt half-baked.
Part of this is frankly due to the nature of the source material. A lot of webtoons imo feature these idealized, wish-fulfillment romances that don’t make for great television. They also often get heavy-handed with a certain progressive bent so as to have characters that are completely “unproblematic”. It’s boring. And while I enjoy a sweet romance, these stories tend to have the substance of cotton candy. The leads are two nice people who only have eyes for each other. That’s nice, but it doesn’t make for very compelling TV, particularly if you’ve watched a bunch of other kdramas with similarly inoffensive characters. They get together and proceed to have the standard by-the-numbers fluffy kdrama romance where two adults act like teenagers who are scandalized simply by the thought of spending time alone with the person they’re with.
Maybe I’m over fluffy romcoms for a bit, but I was watching The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract and while that drama had its problems with some characterization issues and plot, in the end I found it far more enjoyable despite also being a fairly fluffy watch purely on the strength of the leads, who were simply more dynamic.

Cute and adorable with a past
I rarely watch Korean shows, this would be my 2nd one.I find this series very cute and adorable. I happened to stumble onto a trailer of it while browsing my Viki. Firstly, I find the show very cute and adorable with alot of funny and humorous parts. Not extremely familiar with Korean actors/actresses, but I have to say the 1st Male Lead and the Female Lead couple are extremely good together, be it in serious situations or out of the ordinary to the funny situations - not forgetting the mini romance scenes here and there. The 2nd Male Lead, the mysterious person from the get go, I feel that he definitely played his role really well - right up till the end. Overall, all the casts did a really good job bringing this series to life. I also love all the variety of dogs shown in the series.
The songs are beautiful, majority of them. I especially love the song that was sung at the wedding - if anyone knows the title, do let me know (thanks!).
All in all, it is a good watch, if you find the synopsis interesting and catches your interest. As for rewatch value, you would have to decide on your own. I definitely am watching it a 2nd round (or more).

Cute Romcom
I watched it first during broadcast but because of the awful schedule, it was really a torture. But when I watched it for the 2nd time (even a 3rd), I really enjoyed it. I read the manhwa and the leads did great! They give me butterflies. There were changes from the manhwa to the drama and I love most of them except for the mountain god's story. Well, I think the story itself was ok but the drama became dragging when it hit that part. Lots of repeated scenes. But other than that, I love the whole story. It was cute, funny, sweet and romantic. Was this review helpful to you?
A Good Day to be a Reviewer
(That title was supposed to be clever and funny though I think I'm probably the only person who will laugh at it hehe)I just finished watching this one for the second time so obviously it has a high rewatchability rating from me, but that is so because it rates highly in my book in every way--except for the music. The music isn't bad, I just kinda got tired of hearing the same couple of songs over and over again.
They overetended the show, imo, using unnecessary (and needlessly long) recaps on every episode and memory montages in places they weren't really called for--inluding a whole extra 124-minute clip-show episode added on at the end. Plus the Uncles's story was silly and also unnecessary, imo. Other than those things, though, it was great!
Cute, sweet, funny, and heartwarming for the first 3/4ths or so when the Tragic Obstacle to Overcome comes along. After that, it's pretty angsty, but not unwatchably so, and you get a happy ending.
And best of all--Cha Eun Woo knows how to kiss a girl! Wow! XD

i know they needed to explain their background story, but it wasn't necessary at all to spend like 4 episodes to explain this whole "past" plot. the episodes were also very short, since they used a lot of flashbacks in it to fill out the episode. but I also laughed a lot with this drama (especially with yul) and giggled a lot because of the main couple, their chemistry is top tier and their kisses are the best i ever seen.
i highly recommend watching this, it might be better since all episodes are aired. i will pretend this last episodes didn't exist and just remember how cute, funny & sweet this drama was.

"A Good Day to Be a Dog", as the title suggests, is a drama about a family curse: the women in the family turn into dogs when they kiss someone. So every night at midnight, the person turns into a dog and the only way to stop this is to make the person they kiss, kiss them back in dog form. The story is really creative and interesting, this is the first time I've seen a curse that turns people into dogs, it's so cute. HAHAHA!
Hae Na and Seo Won are so cute together, but Cha Eun Woo is on a whole different level than Park Gyu Young, she couldn't keep up with him. The scene where Seo Won breaks Ha Na's curse is so good, the kiss in the epilogue is even better.
I didn't like that nothing happened to Bo Gyeom. He's a mountain spirit and interfered in the lives of humans, which he couldn't do. He cast a curse on a family for generations due to a misunderstanding, so he should be punished for it, even though he thought he was avenging his love, Bo Gyeom was abusing his power.

Clichés and incompleteness
The main idea is quite unique. Then you get bombarded with all the clichés you could imagine in a k-drama; which is not necessarily a bad thing, because this is why many people watch them and find comfort in the familiarity of it all. In this case, some were unnecessary. I will never let go of my despise for the past life/Joseon era trope. I skipped most of the scenes involving the Joseon era story retelling or at least I watched them sped-up - to capture the essence of the happenings to a certain degree. They were boring, somewhat repetitive. And then came my second least trope, the misunderstanding. I detest how the guy cursed and made the life of several generations insufferable, just because of his misjudgement. If he is a god, why didn't he do something against it? Or at least try to learn what happened exactly, like, earlier? Why did he decide to punish them in this timeline? Another unanswered case is the other villain. Why didn't they disclose his case appropriately? And the little brother's with the girl? Because they definitely made the watcher think that something could develop between them but there was no proper closure regarding this case either. Not to mention that in one of the episodes, the mother of him was mentioned, but absolutely no other thing was revealed about neither of her (except that she lives abroad?), nor their family in general. Why does he live with his uncle? The ending felt disappointing as well. A proper ending can do wonders. And vice versa. The relationship and behavior of the characters felt somewhat childish, considering the fact that most of them were pushing 30 and were teachers as well. I was also worried about the borderline teacher-student relationships: the weird addition that the younger brother substituted Mr. Jin, his confession to the FL and that the past lover of the mountain god reappeared as a student of his.Now on the bright side. The chemistry between the FL and the ML is good, the acting is satisfactory too. The improvement in Cha Eunwoo's acting is noticeable as well, and it was nice seeing kisses other than the typical dead fish-type. The side characters are a good addition and the anti-bullying message is very important and efficiently conveyed.
Despite the flaws and plotholes, I do not regret watching it (but would not rewatch it).

cute romcom with massive plot holes
I liked it. It was a bit weird and had a ton of massive plot holes, the villain was totally just the villain for the sake of having a villain, but yeah, it was cute. If you can forgive those things for a cute romcom then this is the one for you! TBH I avoided this one for a while because after reading the description I thought, I do not want to watch a romance between a dog and human LMAO but it's not really like that at all. Glad I gave it a chance. Was this review helpful to you?

perfect first half, unnecessary second half
the first half of this drama gave us a perfect romcom. the storyline was pretty lighthearted and brought about such adorable moments btwn the leads. i rewatched the first half just because of how much i loved the couple! park gyu young & cha eun woo has my whole heart. 10/10 drama if they stopped here.but then the second plot point was a complete 180. it simply did not need to happen. the drama went from an adorable romcom to a convoluted historical fantasy melodrama?? like we didn’t need ANY of that.
tldr: stop watching after ep 9

a super fun kdrama
I thought this was a great kdrama, the story was very interesting, at first I didn't really understand the title, but now I do. I definitely recommend this drama. I would like to watch it again myself. At first I thought it was going to be a boring drama but that's not the case at all! I really like that Cha Eun-woo is in this kdrama. He can act very well. Park Gyu-young also acted well, she was very good in it, I will definitely watch more of her dramas. she was also super cute as a puppy. I give this drama an 8 out of 10, which it certainly deservesWas this review helpful to you?
