Cha Eun Woo, Yes!!!
Based on the Naver Webtoon of the same name by Lee Hey.To be honest, my first thought was to pass up this one, because the premise sounded boring and stupid. However, I saw that A Good Day to Be a Dog was running a rate of 9.8/10 from the viewing audience, so I took a chance. This drama has a stacked cast and is surprisingly good, bad premise and all. The story is about this teacher who turns into a dog at night if a guy kisses her, but returns to normal in the morning. While this did not sound good on paper, I am likening the series, based one its beginning episodes. It is hilarious.
And it’s a cute dog that steals the show.
Cast
Park Gyu-young (Celebrity, Dali and the Cocky Prince), Cha Eun Woo (Rookie Historian, True Beauty), and Lee Hyun-woo (The Liar and His Lover, Moorim School: Saga of the Brave).

Even with the weird curse it was a fun and intriguing.
When the show first came out, I didn't know it would turn out to be so good. Even though I'm not someone crazy about dogs, this was so sweet. It started out fun, became a bit intriguing, and ended on a good note. I had hoped that the low-key third couple whose fate the show revolved around would also end up together but that didn't happen.I have watched two drams featuring Cha Eun Woo, one is this one and the other is True Beauty. While he did okay in True Beauty, this character suited him even better. The gentle non-toxic green flag of a guy. Park Gyu Young was so fun to watch, especially when she continued inviting him for soju. Cha Eun Woo tried to imitate it but sadly couldn't match it, but it was fun to watch. The chemistry between the 2 was bomb! The kissing scenes, one of the best I have seen in Kdrama so far.
All characters were great, well-written. I do wonder if Choi Yool was Jin Ah's husband in the past life. Since she said good bye to the mountain spirit maybe they'll get together. I like both Lee Bo Gyum and Choi Yool for her, no doubt they would be good to her, but they have some growing up to do.
It is worth the watch.

I'm ashamed to admit that I liked it
I was ragging on this show for the first couple of episodes. Then episode 5 came and I did a complete 180. I think it's really funny that this B grade drama has more commentary on societal issues then a lot of the biggest melodramas right now. It was surprisingly fun and I will definitely rewatch it. Also the chemistry was hit or miss but the hits were really hitting.I love that this isnt 16 episode. I'm so glad the creators were self-aware and understood that not everything needs to be dragged out for for two or four more episodes

The Most Amusing & Entertaining Adaptation Ever
Adapted from the webtoon “A Good Day to Be a Dog” (오늘도 사랑스럽개) by Lee Hey (이혜), this is one of those shows that leaves a memorable impression in your minds. MBC’s latest fantasy romcom is a rustic mix of intriguing characters, riveting storyline and a cute dog that you can’t hate. I was actually apprehensive about watching this drama; the only reason to start this show was Cha Eun Woo. Yup, I have been his huge fan since I saw his high school romance, “True Beauty”. “Island Season One & Two” has further cemented my obsession; so here we are. The pilot episodes do a decent job of introducing the characters while neatly weaving the unbelievable yet hilarious fantasy element. Well, you don’t have many dramas where the female protagonist turns into a cutesy dog, do you? Starring alongside Cha Eun Woo is Park Gyu Young; frankly I wasn’t quite enthused about watching her. Her clingy character roles in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and “The Devil Judge” were lackluster. So, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to watch a drama which features her as the main lead. But Park Gyu Young manages to break out of the old mold and turns the tables to play a bubbly character who is equal parts sweet and amusing. The trio is completed by Lee Hyun Woo who recently starred in “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area”. Now, fasten your seatbelts as I take you on this joyride!Read the complete article here-

Most Fun Drama of 2023
This was such an unexpected delight to watch. Cha Eunwoo was at his most lovable best here. The comedy is perfectly light and fun. The ending wasnt perfect but I would love if they made more kdramas like this, they really lost the art of fun, beautiful and silly kdramas over the last 3 or 4 years. I wanted to see more powers if possible from the relevant characters though. Was this review helpful to you?

Life is stuck in the past
All the recent dramas that have been released are somehow attached to their previous lives .For example, this drama also 1. moon in the day, 2. the story of park's marriage , 3.my demond etcThis drama did not need to do so many episodes. 8 or 10 episodes could have ended the drama well. The story could have been made stronger, the chemistry did not come between the hero and heroine, the good actors of the family mamber were not given enough screen time and acting move.Comedy could be done in drama. Because there were many comedian actors. The drama could have been a little romantic. There is no proper screen time set in the second leads actors.
The second female lead and the story are a little bit non-perfect. It is not known who her husband is. And I could not understand how her husband forgot his wife ?

I binged! So glad I decided to wait until all eps were out!
I had so much fun with this story! It was really cute. It made my short list of bingeable series. It would have benefitted from airing without momentum breaks I’m pretty sure. I thought the main couple was just too cute for words. I also thought the dogs were SO CUTE, especially FL’s dog form. I’m a millenial and grew up on a show called Wishbone where a jack russel terrier solves cases and has the cutest little outfits. This series gave me shades of that. 14 eps was just the right length for this story. Maybe it could have even been 13 or 12 but definitely 16 would have overdone it. I really enjoyed the overall cast and their side stories. Eunwoo is as swoonworthy as ever and delivers some of the best kdrama kisses I’ve ever seen OMG *fans self*. Spoiler alert ***HE USES TONGUE***. He’s coming along nicely in his development and I’m looking forward to his future projects. Was this review helpful to you?

It's not what I expected
The storyline was a letdown. The concept had so much potential, but it never took itself seriously enough. Instead of delivering the weight of an epic romance, it felt like it settled into the mold of a light-hearted romcom, creating a glaring mismatch that was hard to overlook. It felt like the show couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be an epic love story or a playful romcom, and that indecision drained the synergy from both genres, leaving us with a blend that didn’t do justice to either. In the end, what could’ve been a captivating series became a disappointment wrapped in missed potential. That said, I watched this because of the ML to be honest but I'd be lying if I say I enjoyed this. Was this review helpful to you?

Rewatch value ૮ฅ・ﻌ・აฅ
At the beginning, I was really into this original story with cute puppies and even more cute ML. Unfortunately, I I got a bit bored by many long interuptions in airing schedule. While waiting, I just read the webtoon and kind of lacked the interest in the second part of the drama. Sadly, it took me a while to even finish watching. I rewatched it recently, and I finally enjoyed the whole drama! So I need to change my previous rating :D very good casting, the plot sometimes too sweet and cliche, but fun and refreshing...and again puppies <3 Also, 14 ep work for me as I usually have trouble to put up with the final two from 16 ep, where the plot weakens, and it gets just annoyingly romantic and indigestible. Was this review helpful to you?

A good drama to watch on a slow day
Jan. 10 2024A Good Day To Be A Dog is definitely that kdrama that you usually watch to relax and ease of your mind. The pacing of this show is more laid back so it is definitely can be boring to others who might be looking for the intense feeling and anticipation.
Needless to say, it is one of those drama that is good to have this kind of pacing. Others might find it too boring but it was decent enough for me. And I think this is a good break from all of the intense jaw dropping show that has been airing out alongside with this show.
I just want to add on that, I think Eunwoo is really harshly treated for his acting. I am seeing how terrible he is as a lead. But as someone who read the webtoon. He definitely fits the character not just visually but even the vibes and personality. I just think people have a strong bias against him. And maybe thats why others are very strong opinionated regarding his acting. To say the least, he is pretty good as a idol-actor.
As for that ending, I know many were left bored or even disappointed but I did not. I guess it is really just a matter of personal choice. The conclusion of the show could have been better and yes the last 1/3rd of the show definitely hit the questionable execution of the script and direction. However, I do still would like to advocate of how fun a ride watching this show for me is.
Given the pros and cons. Pick your battles and I hope you pick this show up, if you are looking for something more laid back and easier to digest when watching. Especially given how many kdramas in this air time right now have those crazy twist and turns.

9 fór my handsome man cha eun woo
I give this drama a 9 mainly because of Cha eun woo and the story is also interesting, too bad I don't like the female role at all, they have no chemistry between them...she's not even pretty , they should have chosen a better actress but cha euwo is so cute and beautiful that I married him she represented an actress like han or him or some other actress, I don't like her looks or behavior, I'm sorry but she's not my type of woman I like to look at.. but I also like the story of the other one couples.. shame on the actressWas this review helpful to you?
