The Journey Across the Night Episode 1

Li Jia, a highly observant and intelligent freshman of the psychiatry department of The University of Hong Kong has other motives of moving to a new place and choosing the major: he is days away from his 24th Birthday, the day everyone in his family falls victim to Schizophrenia. Having had a history of the mental disorder in his family, he had already lost his mother to it and his elder brother was currently going through the same fate. He seeks answers from his professor Vincent Chan, who has been doing research on Hereditary Mental disorders for years. Li Jia loses his spot to get into the school dorms, but is offered an apartment for cheap in High Street by Zhang Cha Cha, a girl whom he had saved earlier. That night in the new apartment, he has nightmares and he finds a ball scribbled wirh a smiley face. The next day, he visits Prof. Vincent Chan, who is later revealed to have taken him for a closer observation at his condition. Shi Cheng, a junior in anatomy and Li Jia's new friend is terrified after finding out that he lived in an apartment which is the most haunted building in the area - it had last been a psychiatric hospital where no patients survived. Jia takes the stairs and has another ball tossed at him. He looks up and sees a man watching him.
