Jun He talks to Jin Bu prior to his date with Qing Tong and he promises her that he will never let Qing Tong be alone. However, his friend gets into a fight and he has to go off to save him. Tong waits for him, but he doesn't show up. She doesn't listen to his explanation and Jin Bu tells him that she won't meddle in their matters anymore. Tong receives a phone call from Zhi Xun's mother who tells her about his pathetic situation and that he was in her city. She finds him at his mom's request and discovers that Wu Zhi Xun had turned to drinking and games. She tries to get him to talk again but is treated coldly by him. When Jin Bu later comes across Xiao's touching letter to her, she rethinks her decision and asks Jun He about him. He informs her that he wouldn't be back for several weeks as he was out of town. She spends the rest of the days distracted. Jun He informs her about Xiao's arrival time and she goes to Xiao's dorm to ask his friends why he wasn't back yet. Hearing that there was an accident, she rushes to the station. Xiao arrives later and is greeted by a tearful Jin Bu. She narrates that being together was the most beautiful thing in the world and that the outcome was not important, but the process.
