Not worth watching
I am not sure how I continue to watch the drama. Nothing much in it. Lack of plot. The most annoying is the loud background music. At times you can't even hear the conversation well due to loud background music. Worst is that the background music was played at any slight opportunity.... Really annoying!!!!The repeated use of memory lost is really lame and childish on the part of the writer. I noticed that the standard of Chinese drama is sliding each year... Now I really dread to watch new Chinese drama.... especially when it has many episodes....

Ugh....could have been better
So BORING!!!!If you like fluffy romance with practically no love triangle, watch this.
So the concept and story line good. No complaints there. The actors had great chemistry. Also no complaints. But it was so boring, I skipped through a lot of parts. Sometimes is was very predictable on how the ML was going to act and respond. Same for the FL. I wanted and needed more excitement. The FL didn't put up great resistance for someone who said she didn't want the ML. I felt the drama was missing something. Idk, but it didn't keep me hooked. I only finished it because I hate not finishing a show. I fell asleep several times also. Its definitely a filler drama. Nothing special.
The music is forgettable. Most dramas I like to download the songs. But this drama, the music was even boring.
Definitely would not rewatch. It's not a bad drama. As I said though it was missing that spark.

Even Fluff Has a Little Angst
China puts out a lot of fluff (television that doesn’t require much thinking). Much of this is due to strict laws on televised entertainment. I typically consume such fluff shows after watching the angsty (Chinese call it Dog’s Blood) shows full of heart wrenching drama, like Love Between the Fairy and the Devil or Til the End of the Moon.Well Dominated Love is such a piece of fluff.
1. I’m not a fan of the English names given Chinese Dramas. I wish they’d ask me to name them.
2. Not sure if anyone is dominated in this show, so this name has nothing to do with the story.
The main character of Nie Xing Chen is played by the lovely Xuan Lu from The Untamed fame. She carriers over the sweet strength we all know and love. If I hadn’t seen her in Who Rules the World, I would have thought that was the only character she can do.
Through interesting circumstances, she becomes the main secretary of Yan Jing Zhi characterized by Zhao Zhi Wei and the fun begins.
STORY:
Like all fluff, the story is strange. Yan Jing Zhi gets amnesia when he falls in love (because in any fluff there is a strange medical condition). The reason for this is explained towards the end of the show and is rather weak. What makes this show a step above drama-valium (yes, I’ve written about this before), Zhao Zhi Wei’s ability to change characters so quickly.
One minute, he is a loving boyfriend and the next, he is a cold-hearted CEO. The abrupt switch was well-done and brought a bit of angst to this pastel-colored drama.
CHARACTERS:
Xuan Lu is one of my favorite actresses, so I love everything she does. She brings a ton of honesty to her characters which allows the audience to easily accept her as she is…….and she never whines…….any of her characters. I like that.
Zhao Zhi Wei did a fabulous job as mentioned. I also enjoyed Liu Yin Jun who played the playboy ex-boss and good friend very well. I rather liked his character even though I did not like the other two females and 3rd male which comprised 3……..count them 3 romantic-ish couples.
MUSIC:
The music was not annoying, but I remember NOTHING about the soundtrack. This is appropriate for a piece of fluff. Nothing about fluff should stand out. It is a pallet cleanser, like parsley, a drama you watch when you need to come off that high one gets from too much Leo Luo consumption (everything he does is intense).
OVERALL:
Well Dominated Love is a decent watch. I recommend you keep it on your “to watch” list when you need something less dog’s blood and more candy floss.
Oh, and if you liked any other female character other than Nie Xing Chen, please let me know. I love a good female character, and the others were rather lame. Help me understand where I’m wrong here.

A very enjoyable watch
When I started watching the drama I was not expecting much just a usual Chinese contemporary romance with comedy elements. The first like 6 episodes were a bit messy and even cringe-worthy in parts to be honest. However as soon as the ML learned the FL’s identity and they became a couple I got hooked and enjoyed it a lot to the very end.The main reason is that I liked the FL a lot. I think the choice of the actress is perfect. She is very believable as a competent and highly professional assistant. The character herself is such a smart girl, very confident and brave, but not bitchy, not naïve. I like the way she stoically fought for her love without being clingy or humiliating herself.
I was not a big fan of the ML. He was irritating sometimes. However I liked their couple a lot. They seemed like a real one and had sincere deep feelings for each other. They looked comfortable in each other’s arms. And the kisses were very steamy.
I also liked the amount of screentime the main couple had together. I hate when the couple spends 2/3 of the drama separated and gets together in the last episode. Here it was certainly not so. They spent much time with each other and communicated a lot. And their happy times made me happy while their separation was really painful to watch.
The other two couples were not that interesting, the doctor and the FL’s colleague were adorable but never developed enough. The SML and SFL together felt like an afterthought though at least the SML who was such a nice guy got a love interest of his own and not just suffered a heartbreak because of the FL.
The comedy elements were done nicely too. The ML and the SML were both hilarious. The wedding episode is such a gem.
I did not even mind the excessive use of amnesia here. It was somewhat justified.
The OST was pleasant though nothing special; maybe one song caught my attention.
I rarely rewatch dramas even the favorite ones but I think I may rewatch some episodes of the Well dominated love some day.

Worth giving a try, it's quite good
OK this drama is underrated I swear (don't know if it was a big thing when it was airing or not though). It's the category of drama that either you love it real or you find it boring. For me, it's the former. It's bubbly and makes you smile. The angst between your cold CEO and extremely capable secretory, the CEO's absolute dominance and intelligence, ya, typical. The story is good, and yes a bit repetitive with the entire memory loss part, but not bad. It actually influenced me into wanting to be a more career oriented independent woman 😂 But it does pull you in and make you feel attached. By the end, definitely it will leave you with a broad smile. Feel good 👍🏻
Xuan Lu and Zhao Zhiwei have a good chemistry. And mind it, Xuan Lu's character as Nie Xingchen here is like the exact opposite of her character as Jiang Yanli in The Untamed and that blows my mind even now (I'm still crying and I can't get over it 😭). The side characters are really good. The second couple were honestly interesting and had a good story. 8/10. Casting was a good pick. All the overdramatic scenes, good good good.
Yes, a story about 2 successful, modern, independent people and an unspoken bond that brings them together again and again. A good rom-com. Rewatch worthy (I've watched it twice) 👍🏻

This is a really nice romantic comedy with an interesting amnesia plot line that keeps the leading couple going back to each other to continue their beautiful and steadfast romantic story. There are no evil plots or characters, but there are enough little twists that keep the story going. The leading couple has great chemistry and the supporting cast provides their own pleasant romantic story lines. The office environment and coworkers are funny and likeable. Overall, this is an entertaining romantic drama with great chemistry.

Very similar to “Well Intended Love”
This was produced by the same people that made “Well Intended Love” and you can see the similarities right away. It even has the extra little scene clip at the end of every episode. It’s very romantic with lots of skinship.Things I liked:
I liked the light fluffiness of the drama. This is exactly what I need after a really heavy emotional drama. It’s low on angst and heavy on romance. The kisses were downright steamy. And I also liked that the female lead was very strong and confident. Even though the male lead was a very wealthy CEO she didn’t need him. I’m so tired of the wimpy simpering females that play damsels in distress in most dramas nowadays. And getting to see the main leads together for a good length of time and seeing what their lives are like on down the road was awesome. I really liked that they didn’t abruptly end the drama right after the main leads got together which happens in almost every drama nowadays. There are two more couples that are pretty cute and we even see their storylines well fleshed out which was nice. I liked being able to see how they turned out. The acting was pretty good and the editing wasn’t choppy at all like some dramas. It flowed smoothly, the actors wardrobe was really nice. It wasn’t a low budget production at all.
Things I disliked:
I wished this drama had the deeper storyline like they did with “Well Intended Love.” With WIL there was an obsessed female friend, kidnapping, amnesia, a revenge plot, along with the male lead lying to get the female lead to marry him. This entire drama revolved around the male leads amnesia. Every bump in the road for the main leads had to do with overcoming his amnesia issues. There was very little to the story other than amnesia. The other two couples did make it better. They were cute. And there was one little brief issue of a spy at their workplace. But other than that there wasn’t much to the story other than the bickering main leads trying to work out their differences over his amnesia. It was a decent plot but having the amnesia issue drag on for the entire length of the drama without anything else exciting happening got monotonous. I can see why some people said it was boring. I wouldn’t say it was boring but I could see why others who aren’t as into romance as I am would. The sweetness of the main couple along with steamy kisses, and skinship kept it sweet and cute and made it a worthwhile watch. But the storyline needed depth and a few more twists. And dubbing this drama with the same exact voices used for the male and female leads in WIL was disappointing. Hearing Ling Yi Zhou’s voice and Xia Lin’s voice from WIL on the main leads in this drama was a bit disconcerting.
One other issue:
I’m not sure if this is a problem everywhere this drama was offered because that’s how it was produced or if it was strictly a YouTube problem.
But the only place I could find English subs was on YouTube. And the YouTube version had a few issues. Sometimes the music was so loud that you couldn’t hear the actors speak. And several times the sound cut out completely. And occasionally the subs on the screen weren’t up long enough to finish reading them. It wasn’t a constant issue. I would say these problems only occurred every once in a while. Probably about 70% of the time the drama had none of these issues. So it wasn’t super bad and it wouldn’t stop me from watching it. But still, it was annoying and detracted from the overall feel of the drama.
Final thoughts:
Overall I’m glad I watched it. Yes the storyline wasn’t as deep as I’d like it to be and the YouTube version I watched had a lot of technical glitches. But I loved that it was low on angst and high on romance, skinship, and sweetness. So if you go into it knowing what to expect you should enjoy it. I did.

I loved the chemistry between the main leads even tho there are some cringe parts. About the plot, I was confused cos the male lead has dissociative amnesia but it was good & everything! The world should know Zhao Zhiwei made me fall in love right then.
