Rewatched it recently and it's still as amazing. Ep 8 had me breaking down once more like no tomorrow. Every episode had. Istg Lee Do Hyun is actually one of my favourite actors of all time. This man can ACT. Name one other person that can act like an old man in the body of a teenager, pretending to be a teenager, but failing miserably. Like, you can't even tell there is a big age difference between him and the main actress, cuz boy, oh, boy the chemistry was chemistrying man. It was off the charts. And it didn’t even feel weird in the slightest, cuz boy wasn't even pretending to be 18. Only Lee Do Hyun people! ONLY HIM!!

The way this show shot up to the top of my favourite Korean dramas of all time is actually not funny. I love the movie 17 Again, the best thing Zac Efron did after High School Musical, so when I found out there was a Korean re-make I jumped on that without a second thought. I thought it was going to be something stupid and goofy as the original with some heartfelt moments, BUT BOY, OH BOY, WAS I WRONG. This show was nothing but an emotional wreck with heartfelt moments that had goofiness sprinkled in. I was so scared they were gonna keep the weird incestuous undertones, but I'm so glad they go above and beyond to make sure there are no misunderstandings anywhere.

This wasn't just a show about a guy turning 18 and getting back his life, this was about a guy returning to 18 and re-learning about his life and how valuable everything is to him. And not just him, but the whole family. They all start to realise just how important their father/husband is to them, despite them all not giving two shits about him before. This is how you write flawed characters, and watching them all learn and grow as people was one of my favourite things ever. The moment I started sobbing uncontrollably in episode 3, I knew this show was going to be unreplaceable in my heart. And don't even get me started on the little snippets of the baby twins and the ML in the end credits, every single one of them had me crying like no tomorrow. All these problems weren't something ridiculous or out of this world, it was just real-life mundane issues. Communication. Lack of time. Explosions after bottling up emotions for too long. They were human, they felt human, and it was why it was so much sweeter and heart-wrenching to watch them progress as the show goes because they start realising their mistakes and learn how to improve on that. And FL and ML only loving each other even after the divorce is just the kinda of romance you don't see everyday.

I have so much love for this show that words could not describe it.

Divorce Story

The story is about two couples that are having kids when they are still in high school. The Father must work hard and stop pursuing his dream as a basketball player. After several years, the situation has become worse because lot of misunderstandings until both of them want to divorce. Later on, they are regretting all of it. The father really wants to turn back time and become youth and a miracle happens.

I really love how the video editor makes the transition. It's very smooth and eye-catching.

This could have been wrapped up in 4 episodes

I had such high hopes for you show, 8.7 in MDL ratings and a good cast but man oh man was it a painful watch.
I have no idea how I made it through all 16 episodes.
Being a remake of a movie, they obviously had to create new plot points and drag it a bit but they wayyyy overdid it, to the point where at times I would have rather gone to see my dentist.
Was there potential? YES for a 4 episodes drama, not more. Rewatch value? Zero.
I regret not having the foresight to drop this drama halfway.

Unusual second chance plot :)

PLOT: The ML & the FL, high school students (he's a basketball genius, she's pregnant), decide to keep the child (twins, 1 girl, 1 boy) and take responsibility. Life is difficult, and 18 years later, FL decides to divorce. The ML, desperate, takes a (magical) bet and regains his high school appearance. To stay in touch, he decides to enter the same high school as his children. The FL gets the TV anchor job she's long dreamed of. The (young) ML will do anything to redeem himself in the eyes of his family.

+++ Great acting, even if the young ML & the older ML don't really resemble each other.
+++ We wonder where this is going!! But we suffer (for a long time) because of the ML :(

### Some lengths and inconsistencies in the second half. Everything is wrapped up by the end, but the series would have benefited from being shorter.

=> Great series, carried by the two MLs
*****************************************************************
Plot 2e chance inhabituel :)

Importance of 2nd chance

This drama was soooo good! Inspired from the Hollywood movie 17 again, it gave an already unique idea a greater storyline and detailed characters.
The flaw of each character made this story more genuine and nuanced. Every character had a great character arc and development movement which they deserved.
I was really scared about how the creators would explore the story on the main characters as the ML is portrayed as a minor! But I loved the fact that the FL was falling in love with the minor ML only because of the characteristics that he possessed as her husband, and I appreciate that the creators didn't normalise the ML being minor as a comic relief but addressed it again and again as an issue, by portraying the FL being guilty every time she thought about the ML.
Even the ending was perfect showing that reality doesn't have a happy ending but it's the moments that the humans create which makes every moment of our life more happy and livable, even when there are fights and disagreements, and effective communication can change the whole course of a relationship.

Just watch this now

This is one of the few reviews I will write but omg everything about this show was so good, the variety of casting with wi ha joon and lee do hyun. The premise is really unique too for the time, he goes back in his 18 year old body and tries to fix the problems in his life basically. The story was well written and I just don't know why this isn't more talked about still. Lee do hyun's acting is never bad and the children were also such a joy to watch. I know the age gap is a little weird but I didn't mind it at all since it was him just in a better body :D. That 's all I will say, I will continue to watch lee do hyun's dramas.

Good acting.

With more depth than I was expecting. Very good acting. Liked the songs. Overall really good show. It is a remake of an American movie that I know of with Zak Efron. Same title too I think. The series is worth watching even if you have already seen the movie. The male lead actor has done a good job with his role.

This drama is packed with emotions , comedy , romance and even an action scene between THOR and CAPTAIN (XOXO). If I compare the drama with the parent movie "17 again" then I would personally favor the drama though it is not right to compare them as a whole. The acting and inner thoughts of the characters is at times tear-jerking .
Cinematography is brilliants , the change and transition of scenes is done in a smart way.
The only minus point is the slow pace of the drama.
I would definitely recommend this drama . Give it a try ,I guess you won't regret .

An All Rounder

I genuinely haven’t watched something so warm and uplifting in a while. This drama is a remake of the American movie but it’s so much more. The main characters are so enjoyable. Drama touches upon core issues such as importance of family, difficulties of early parenthood, rocky school life and finding yourself even in the midst of a chaotic, degrading life cycle. The father/children relationship is heartwarming and makes you bawl. It makes you realize the hardships your parents might’ve went through to give you a good life. It also digs deep into how children give back without expressing through words. Main lead, Lee Do Hyun, is so charming and believable as a father of two teenagers; I was stunned with his amazing acting abilities. This drama is truly a gem.
