This drama consists of two main parts, the first 14 episodes are about the high school years of our four leads & episodes 15-28 are about university life. If I consider the first one a separate drama, then I would rate it at 9+, it's more than just great. I enjoyed the high school years much more here than in the recent hit cdrama Our Secret. If I imagined how my favorite high school anime romance would look like as live action TV, something like this would be the end result. In fact I don't think I have ever seen a high school drama with more anime-like leads, second leads. Usually Chinese high school dramas have very little romantic substance, because the censorship kills any chance of puppy loves flourishing, not in this one though. I feel the production team really pushed the boundaries of what a high school cdrama can be. I mean sure kisses, or a direct non confusable confession did not end up happening, but there was never a doubt about their relationship. Like the drama had "we'll be together forever" and (just) sleeping with & on each other multiple times, hugs etc etc. This whole introverted guy + outspoken girl story just really worked for me. Also it was really wholesome, like all the moms & even the head teacher were mostly turning a blind eye to the obvious affair. Special circumstances notwithstanding I'm really surprised this passed censorship.
The second half of the drama, the university years was not nearly as good. The leads went through the motions and while it was mostly still very enjoyable, but it was a bit annoying how slowly they progressed, despite starting cohabitation relatively early on. The leads have grown on me & I enjoyed watching them, but their everyday life did certainly not have enough substance for 28 episodes.
This is a drama where the leads (effectively) have gotten together in episode 3? and stayed together till the last episode without a single major misunderstanding, or love triangles. So of course the writers felt they have to find some tension to make the drama more interesting and with this I arrived at the worst thing about the drama, which is the relationship of the second leads following high school graduation. This entire theme of the guy not knowing how the girl feels & how he himself feels, while seemingly not having working male hormones either was extremely frustrating to get through. That's not even all, when he had finally figured out what's going on, the girl suddenly changed her mind, because ehm why not?
I just finished binging the drama, but I cannot recall any of the songs, the most mediocre OST of 2020 award goes to.. !?
If I had to recommend Meeting You to a friend, I would probably just say to watch the first 22~ episodes & then just skip to the finale. Coffee making competitions & plagiarism accusations are probably not worth the time, especially considering how there was much less sweetness in the OTP relationship after they started to officially date.

A Journey Through Love and Friendship
"Meeting You" is a Chinese drama that starts off as a typical high school romance but develops into a story about friendship, hard work, and following your dreams. The main characters are Nan Xi, a boy with social anxiety, and Xia Rui, a loud and outgoing girl. They meet by chance in high school and discover they were childhood friends.
What makes this drama special:
Healthy relationships: The drama portrays supportive friendships and a sweet romance that develops naturally.
Positive vibes: The story focuses on overcoming challenges, working hard, and achieving goals.
Realistic portrayal of youth: It captures the fun and challenges of being a teenager without resorting to negativity or excessive drama.
A few minor drawbacks:
Predictable plot points: Some aspects of the story, like love triangles and misunderstandings, are predictable.
Unrealistic aspects: The drama depicts all the main characters ending up in the same college, which feels unrealistic.
Overall:
"Meeting You" is a heartwarming drama with a strong focus on friendship and personal growth. It's a perfect watch for those looking for a light and positive story with relatable characters.
Recommendation: If you enjoy wholesome high school dramas with a touch of romance, this is a good option for you.

CUTE SWEET STORY OF A SHY BOY AND AN ENERGETIC BUBBLY GIRL
I'm currently watching this drama. I really liked the slow sweet story and I'm enjoying the drama. cast is good , supporting leads are cute and the chemistry ,bond between the main leads and side leads is beautiful. The four of them are adorably cute. I'm currently on episode 15 and till now their is no negative lead (¬‿¬) and I'm really happy with that. \( ^▽^ )/Meeting you is a cute soft school drama showing interaction between school students (different nature and character)and the type of pressure students face while completing g school and selecting their higher studies, this drama shows the beautiful moments of every student's life, memorable youth , difficulties in a student life, and many more.

Beautiful Story!
I recently watched the drama "Meeting You", and I must say it was truly refreshing and beautiful — simply amazing! The story beautifully explores friendship from childhood, capturing memories that endure over the years. Themes of trust, dedication, patience, admiration, and love are delicately woven throughout, making it a heartfelt tear-jerker.I've already watched it twice, and I can confidently say that if you’re looking for a stunning drama, this is it! The original soundtrack perfectly complements each scene and enhances the overall experience. The cast, especially the lead couple, were outstanding! Their portrayal of devotion, trust, and dependability is something that resonates deeply in today's world.
I wholeheartedly recommend you take the time to watch "Meeting You" and see for yourself. I’d love to hear your thoughts afterwards!

very sweet, much enjoyed
TDLR; This is very much a comfort show. Also I feel like it’s so underappreciated and underrated. Arguably one of the best writing out of all the cdramas I’ve watched in terms of the romance aspect!! This show has made me both laugh and cry with some sweetness as well. Acting is natural and amazing and music is peak, esp the lyrics they’re so beautiful 😭 . I would definitely rewatch this at some point, as someone who usually doesn't rewatch shows.Story: I love how they don't milk the childhood friend thing, and they resolve it quickly instead of dragging it out. As for the second relationship, I feel like they do drag it out a little too much, though the way she handles the first encounter is so mature, and I feel like what she does is so powerful, and I respect her for that. All the adult figures are so supportive. Some of the scenes would be super cheesy, but somehow, they make it cute and adorable instead. Also, I’ve cried multiple times.. and ngl didn’t see that coming. All the misunderstandings get resolved super quickly, and there's none of that overdramatic petty drama that's in a lot of romcoms. Everyone in the comments (Viki) keeps saying that the romance is so slow, and they do do the trope thing where every time they try to kiss they get interrupted, but the other little things they do for each other are so sweet I couldn't be bothered. THERE'S ALSO NO LOVE TRIANGLES!! Also (kinda spoiler) the only show where the childhood friend ends up w/ each other.. The most nuanced romcom out there, truly.
Acting/Cast: Wang Peng's acting reminds me so much of the female lead from My Own Swordsman (another good show). I feel like the personalities of both of them are also similar. All the characters are so well-rounded. The acting is good and natural., although, Yufei's acting is a little too animated imo but other than that everyone's great!
Music: All the music in the show have lyrics that are so fitting to the story, I feel. It's like mellow chill, and smth I could vibe to.
Rewatch value: Definitely worth a rewatch whenever I feel down. I just love the chemistry between the couples, and the little things they do for each other really make the show.

Wang Peng salvando o drama!
