An incredible period drama

This has become for sure on of my favorite dramas of all time. I loved everything about it, the actors, the story and the setting. The only reason I can't give this drama a 10/10 is because of that last episode, I cannot agree with the way they ended the drama and honestly? It felt vaguely homophobic, the way certain characters reacted was also not in line with what we had been shown before. Besides that, I found the unsuspected comedy delightful, the chemistry between the actors and characters incredible, and I loved the roller-coaster ride the story took us on. Overall an incredible experience!

If you want to watch a kdrama to uplift your mood and energy then don't waste your time and just watch this drama.
Regarding the story I wouldn't say it was great but it was quite good. Each and every episode is filled with good humor.you won't be able to stop laughing. It doesn't get boring .
The actors did their part well.
I really loved this drama. Loved watching every episode.

For BL lovers, I felt It's a low-key BL story.I believe what they felt for each other was definitely LOVE for the other person. That's why the ending disappointed me a little. Because the one the King fell for was not exactly the queen.

But overall I loved it.I'd highly recommend it.

A funny start to something greater

I've watched all the episodes so far twice. That's very rare for me.

Because we're so early in this series the review will be shallow.

The lead actress, Shin Hye Sun, along with Choi Jin Hyuk, just sold me to this series outright. Great actors from My Golden Life and The Last Empress.

So far they're doing a great job, and the other leads are doing well as well, although only a handful of character are developed or developing.

But a series I'd recommend right away for anyone interested in watching something only new.

What to say, I am amazed. This drama had everything.

It is incredible how it went from having a joyful, funny tone, to a darker, more seriuos and intense one. I was drawn by the plot and fell deeply into the story.

Some scenes caused me to laugh really hard, some scenes made me cry, some made me feel shivers down my spine and arms, some gave me fluffy feelings and some made my heart tremble. (the love scenes were just SO GOOD).

Suspense, plot twists, inspiring quotes and actions, as well as fluttering, cute, sweet, funny, hilarious moments created a perfect ensemble.
It also had beautiful themes like hardships, determination, friendship, love, loyalty.

I also really want to point out the phenomenal acting. THE CHEMISTRY really got me. At one moment I remember suddenly thinking "Wait a minute.. This is actually acting?" because they were so good that I forgot they were actors and not the true characters. They did and impressive job. And they depicted every character genuinely.
I didn't just grow fond of them... Seeing their bonds and how they develop and grow really touched me.
It had a lot of beautiful meanings.
Adding also the directing, every scene and different atmosphere were done very nicely.

In conclusion, it's one of the very few dramas that even though have an ending that doesn't really satisfy me, remain some of my absolute favorites.
It stuck with me still now...

I wish a beautiful "No touching" to everybody ;)

Good Show That Takes Itself Too Seriously

A remake of 2015's "Go Princess, Go!", Mr Queen is a production that clearly has a higher budget than its predecessor, and it shows. However, the show sometimes takes itself a little too seriously, and struggles to balance between the slapstick humour inherent in the original with the seriousness of the plot, which weaves in actual Korean history. That said, while the ending was a little too realistic for my liking, it was an overall satisfactory watch and the drama provided both leads with as happy an ending as it could have. Perhaps in another life, the main characters will be able to live life together as they should.

For viewers that are looking for a more satisfying ending, I would suggest checking out the multiple endings filmed for "Go, Princess, Go!" and perhaps rework the storyline with your imagination as I often find myself doing. The main leads have good chemistry in this show, and it's overall a good watch!

This is a very good drama. I think kdramas are really trying hard to improve their skill in storytelling. As long as i remember until around 2019, they tend to switch their comedy genre to a melodrama thing when the story progressed and this kind of thing is frustated me when i watch a drama (imo this is happened quite often in saeguk drama). Because when i watch a comedy drama, i want to see comedy in every episode. I can tolerate some melodrama scenes, but only for side story and just to help the story progress.

But Mr. Queen is very good with consistency, and i really like that all of characters have been layered. I love that they have motivations for doing something, so i believe them as a human being because that's what people do in real life. Also, the FL always shows her best in her drama. I can see her as a different person in each of her dramas, and that's showing her talent as an actress. As for the ML, this is the first time i saw him in a drama and i can tell that he can act, and his acting is good. I really hope they will be pairing again in their next project, because the actor can balance his acting with hers.

If i could complain, it's just the ending. There will be no spoiler here, but i may say that the ending will be better if the ML didn't say one particular line hehe. Still, i recommend this drama if you want to watch a comedy in saeguk era :)

One of the best dramas 2020 has to offer

I laughed a lot and cried too. I gave it 9.5 because the ending left me a bit disappointed but I don't know why. It had a great storyline and the perfect cast. It was good to see Shin Hye-Sun. She is one of the best actors. She played the character so well. The antics of Court Lady Choi (Cha Chung-Hwa), Kim Hwan (Yoo Young-Jae) and the other side characters made the drama so much more interesting. This drama also showed me a few actors I have never watched before. Great drama overall and definitely recommend it.

"This Korean historical drama captivates viewers with its mesmerizing blend of epic visuals and a heart-touching romantic narrative. From a production standpoint, the elaborate sets and costumes provide a stunning visual experience, transporting the audience to a distant era. The on-screen chemistry among the cast not only renders the romantic storyline authentic but also infuses elements of refreshing and entertaining comedy. The lead actors, with their exceptional acting skills, successfully convey profound emotions, establishing a genuine connection between the audience and the characters' journeys. The cleverly crafted plot, full of twists and turns, maintains tension that keeps viewers engaged from episode to episode. With sharp dialogue and clever humor, the drama achieves a perfect balance between romance and comedy. Additionally, the beautiful background music enhances the emotional atmosphere of each scene. Overall, this Korean historical drama is not just entertainment; it is an artful masterpiece that captivates with its unforgettable charm."

Sceneggiatura discreta e scenografia abbastanza curata.

A melhor comédia romântica do ano?

Court Lady Choi, A MELHOR. Todas as expressões dela me fizeram chorar litros de rir.

E pra finalizar, a melhor ost.
BONG HWAN-NAAAA~~~

Tellement hilarant !

Mr Queen

Dame Choi va beaucoup me manquer.
