10/10 acting, 8/10 story, 0/10 ending. This review is just a venting session about the ending
This would have been a 10/10 if not for the ending. What, you couldn't have a man and a man end up together even if he was in the body of a woman and you were implying he was practically turning into a woman? What the hell, you think that just because Kim Byung In couldn't recognize that the love of his life had swapped bodies right away, that Cheoljong wouldn't notice either? Are you now saying that what's on the surface is the only thing that matters? Are you saying that Jang Bong Hwan just goes back to his life? That he doesn't love the King anymore? Or what it wasn't him who loved the king and who the king loved. No one who was transphobic would have cared if you let them stay together or had Jang Bong Hwan remain in the body of the Queen, the transphobes can just convince themselves that biology is all that matters like they do anyways, so Jang Bong Hwan is not a man when he is in the body of the queen. I want to throw my hands up in the air like Jang Bong Hwan/the queen would do. This just goes to show how incredible that actress is. She acted out two completely different personalities, and the processes for those two personalities to mix over time and from two different directions. And back to my tirade, but I know we've already established that the ending is transphobic, or just sad. You took away Cheoljong's love! I don't care what your phobia is, but you have to admit that Cheoljong and Jang Bong Hwan/the queen had the most beautiful love, and you just took it away! (Crying ugly tears like the queen/Jang Bong Hwan. Sorry, distracted. But if you were a gender born not to have certain sexual organs that perform certain functions and all of a sudden you do, (and I know this took a lot of liberties), but this is a highly traumatic experience. Ever heard of gender dysphonia? The kind of gender experience Jang Bong Hwan went through would cause the most stalwart gentleman wish to consider self-harm. Yes self-harm. Come find me if you want to challenge someone who can speak first person to gender dysphonia, to waking up in a body that isn't theirs, that has parts that shouldn't be there. And finding himself pregnant ... I would have liked for them to have had a touch or reality here. You can't make everything better by thinking that at least you'll have power through your child. For heaven's sake, you created the character of Grand Queen Dowager Sunwon. That’s the worst kind of power, the worst kind of consolation. It should have made her even madder. Why didn't she blame/rage at Cheoljong He took control over the last thing that was hers/Jang Bong Hwan's to control. That feeling of having that last part of your body take over?! It is the most invasive, sickening destructive, devastating experiences. I guess if they even touched on this they would have had to touch on abortion and that would have been a no-no I'm sure. Otherwise 10/10 acting. Let me say it again 10/10 ACTING. Shin Hae Sun you're a God/Goddess in whatever gender or role you would like to take. Kim Jung Hyun, you did not disappoint. Was this review helpful to you?
Nailed it...timelessly funny
The actress absolutely nailed this. This will be timelessly funny with her portrayal of a 21st-century man (a ladies' man, no less) stuck in the body of a Joseon-era queen. I was pleasantly surprised at how the romance played out and how the ML interacted with her in those scenes. The costumes and set design were also stand-out.Was this review helpful to you?
très beau ?

Im telling you right now, need a kdrama for a good laugh? THIS IS IT!!!
Oh my god, I swear I don't think I've ever laughed this much watching a kdrama before than with this one. Just. MWAH: Masterpiece. The characters and acting, so well done. Its so silly yet the romance scenes make your heart skip a beat and then it switches to a bittersweet feeling and you're just experiencing so many things at once. Some people say this was like a BL/GL in disguise which...if you watch you will see what they mean. Such a silly kdrama, and it contains time travel which is one of my favourite genres ever. I really hope you guys choose to watch this kdrama. Its so criminally underrated. And it has an AMAZING OST. Oh my god definitely one of my favourite OST's ever because its equally silly as the show and just so energetic that it makes you want to dance and sing along. YEPYEP 10/10. SOLID.

An all time favorite
This is seriously my favorite kdrama of all time. I've rewatched it multiple times even tho it's pretty long lol... I wasn't a big fan of historical dramas before but this definitely changed my mind!I felt a lot of emotions during this. I laughed a lot but I also cried my eyes out lol... Idk how they did this honestly. The comedy was amazing and almost all the characters had funny moments. But then again, it was also very sad. My heart was genuinely hurting at some moments. It was definitely a roller coaster haha... It was the perfect mix between comedy and drama and that's a big reason why I love it so much.
I never felt bored while watching this even tho I get bored easily and often watch dramas at 2x speed haha... This was a longer kdrama but it didn't feel like it. I kinda wished it had more eps lol (that might've been too much tho).
The cast in this is incredible and I became a fan of almost all of them after watching this. I knew Shin Hyesun was a good actor before but she's truly an incredible actor. I became a big fan after this. I was really surprised by Kim Junghyun since I haven't seen him in a lot of dramas. He was amazing! I was also really happy to see Na Inwoo in this since I really like him!
I liked a lot of the characters, almost all of them. Obviously, many of them made mistakes and I disliked them at the beginning but they made up for it and I liked most of them at the end. I also liked how all of them were relevant to the actual story and weren't "forgotten".
The only thing I didn't LOVE was the ending. It was very bittersweet. I don't mind it that much though!
(I think I'll actually go rewatch it again now hahah)

A comic delight and a josean parody !
This drama is a rare treat. The storyline is simple but what makes this drama special is the Queen herself, Kim so Yong is a character that will go down as a legend in K drama history. Every single scene in which she appears is full of excitement, fun and challenge. The only reason I am not giving it 10/10 is bcos of the last episode which was leading to the " scarlet hearth " road that possibly even scared otherwise such gutsy writers so they tried to change the direction at the last minute, hence people with rationality and feeling will really get awkward although hopeless dreamers might not even notice this!
All in all I will highly recommend this drama.

MWAH!!!!
This DRAMA can only be described in one word.... PERFECT!Well for me, this drama is veryyyyyyy fantastic, it just suits my taste...
The cast, the acting, ost, and plot is wonderful.
I can say this drama is WORTH watching, I really enjoyed this drama to the point tht I can watch it all over again.
Well yeah in simpler words, this drama is about a chef from the modern era, he got into an accident and time lapsed/time traveled into the past, wherein he found himself in the body of the soon to be queen, he tried many ways to come back but he couldn't, and then afterwards he got used to living there and got close with the king.
JUST WATCH IT AND TRUST ME, YOU WON'T REGRET SPENDING YOUR TIME WATCHING IT!!!!

Entertaining
I have watched both the original ( the Chinese version "Go Princess Go") and the Korean remake ( Mr. Queen). And I have to admit, I think I like the Korean one a little bit better. Don't get me wrong, the Chinese version is just as good. But I found the Korean remake to be slightly more entertaining. The Storyline- similar to the Chinese version, the FL ( a male at the time) is a selfish playboy who while running from someone, ends up falling into a pool which sends his spirit back into the body of a Queen (to be) of the Joseon Dynasty. And just like the Chinese version, he tries everything possible to get back to his time period. which brings about some very funny situations.
Prior to his soul entering the Queen's body, the Queen (So Yong) was disliked by everyone including the King. But the spirit in So yong's body, despite being rude and stand-off-ish, is somewhat kind and caring. This causes people around to begin to see the Queen in a new light. There is some love rivalry, but it doesn't last long enough to bother you and it doesn't get too heavy on the politics either. it is the perfect mix of mystery, comedy and romance.
The cast-I loved the cast in the original, they did a good job. But the Korean version's cast was just Awesome!
I had seen Shin hye sun in other dramas but wasn't as drawn to her in other dramas as I am am in this one. her ability to show a different range of emotions really made this drama light and fun to watch. Her character is the main comic relief in the drama.
I had also seen Kim jung hyun in other dramas but became a fan of his after seeing him in Crash Landing on you. The rest of the cast also did an amazing job.
I've seen some complaints about the ending but I think it was an ok ending. Everyone was happy in the end.

funny and very entertaining
this drama is so so so entertaining and very very funny, i feel like there's not a single episode which i didn't burst out laughing. it is very chaotic as well, love this drama in that part. storyline wise, i like the part about the female lead (bong hwan basically), while the political part was boring and predictable for me and that's the minus point... i don't feel like watching those parts and rather just 'pushing' myself to watch it. i'm only interested about the female lead. i swear i was having identity crisis together with her throughout the series. acting was AMAZINGGG, every single cast even the supporting roles are very very great. the last episode was a meh for me, imo they should've put more focus about the spirit swap because that's the best part. anyways i had a good laugh thanks to this drama. recommended if you need light, entertaining drama :)Was this review helpful to you?
Comedic couple
Mr. Queen. Hye sun made my day with this drama. I laughed a lot and the way she portrayed herself as a man is excellent. I loved it!!! 🥰🥰🥰 And the king is another great actor too. I keep on imagining jin hyuk as his lt whenever they're together as couple and it has made my day!! 🥰🥰🥰However the story plot is confusing and a rushed. I didn't know how their body merged as one. I didn't know how he got his body back. I feel like they rushed the story too much and they didn't give any answers as to how they merged as one and where did the real hye sun hide while jin hyuk takes over her body and the most important question!! Is jin hyuk gay now after going back to his own body??? 🤣🤣🤣 I'm really curious!!! 🤣🤣🤣
So, I'll at least give it an 8, since it made me laugh a lot.

Meu Dorama conforto
