Both of the dramas take place in historical times and involves multiple detectives solving many mysterious crimes. Both dramas begin with two detectives competing to solve a crime and end up being friends. Both dramas include crimes that are connected to the palace and the emperor.

In both, the famous historical character Wu Ze Tian is one of the main character

Ma Tian Yu and Qi Wei are the main leads in both dramas.

Ma Tian Yu is in Young Sherlock also but playing a completely different character. The fighting scenes are pretty awesome and similar to this drama, the story going from case to case with story development in between.
