Going into this movie with high expectations I was not disappointed. I loved this movie! Jackie Chan was great and the rest of the cast was really great as well. I'll admit it wasn't an 'epic' type of film but it was more light and I think that's partially while I enjoyed it so much. The actions scenes were really fun and not drawn out like they are in some movies. There were defiantly comedic moments. The movie went by fast however I didn't feel like it was too rushed in any way. I didn't get confused by anything, which is rare for me I almost always get lost. It did kind of seem like it was leading up to something bigger than there was but overall it wrapped up nicely and I can't really claim myself as disappointed in anyway. Even though this movie has a lot of great fighting scenes it's not violent or gory which was a big big plus for me. All in all it was pretty awesome in my opinion but I'm sure not everyone will agree. I also recommend watching the behind the scenes / NGs in the credits they were pretty funny.

The crazy @ss stunts that Jackie Chen does, he is fearless, & does not stray from danger, and crazy!

**This was SUPPOSED to be Jackie Chen's last Movie, and he was supposed to retire... Hahaha... L-I-A-R!!!***

(I usually write with the 1st letter of all my words in capital letters, I have wrote like that practically my whole life, but I had one person, one person complaint that it was hard to read, as if they were a school teacher grading me, or as if I'm getting paid to write a review. Anyways since this is my next review, I'm going to trying and write this review this way!!!)

1st I want to say I use to Really Like, and respect Jackie Chen ALOT, because of his acting, and all the crazy insane stunts he does. I really ended up liking him, because he sang a song, and in it a verse he sing is this is not my world, this is not your world, this is our world. I don't know if he wrote the song, but it was a really nice song, and I liked it alot!!! Especially because of the meaning.
But about a year ago I found something out about him that I am very Disappointed in him about, it's about his Daughter... Reserch, and look it up, maybe you'll find the Story. Anyways all I have to say is no matter what, she is still his Daughter. I'm shocked An Actor, more like a comedian could be the way he is to his Daughter.

WE SAW THIS MOVIE ABOUT 14 YEARS AGO in 2012, so I might not have the greatest memorie of the movie anymore...

Now about the movie... Ha ha ha all I remember is my mom saying she wanted to go watch a Chinese movie the day we saw it, I wasn't really wanting to watch it, and she couldn't tell me what it was about, she didn't even tell me Jackie was in it. All I remember is she wanted to see it so badly, I forgot I had to work that day.

Anyways when we got to the movie thearter I saw a sign, and I saw Jackie in it, I told my Mom, and she said that's the Movie I want to see, I told her how come you didn't tell me Jackie was in it... She said she forgot, I told her I almost didn't want to come, because I didn't know who was in it or what it was about.

The movie itself was action packed, and the stunts were just Insanely crazy!!! It's about recovering the heads of the 12 Chinese Zodiacs. In the Movie they were Chinas most prise treasures, not sure in real life how true that is, because they looked like they were all made of bronze. Not even copper... I do have to say the stautes head of each one was really cool, and neat. The heads themselves were bigger, twice as big as a human head, maybe even 3 times bigger. Being bronze, I can imagine, they were quit heaving to carry or lug around.

Jackie was some type of undercover spy or like a person for hire I guess, and his job is to recover all 12 of the Chinese Zodiacs heads. It's not easy getting all 12. I remember the very last Chinese Zodiac head being the hardest to get back, I believe it was the Rat Zodiac head, but I could be wrong. I remember thinking to myself oops, and there goes Jackie character, he's going bye bye. The ending, and the last Zodiac Head he had to get was probably the most craziest thing I have ever seen anyone to ever do in a Movie or Drama. Let me just start by say this if this wasn't a Movie, but was real life, there's no way in h*ll Jackie would have servived or lived. NO WAY!!! NO HOW!!! All I can say is even though the ending stunts was awesome, I was terrified, and really scared for Jackie!!! And Seriously all I remember is the beginning, and the ending... You'll have to watch to find out what happens at the end.

All I can say is the stunts that Jackie Does are Insanely crazy... So about I mentioned the ending, I know going backwards. The very beginning was crazy too, and it just starts into this scene, there is no slow start!!! You see someone laying down on something that kind of looks like a bomountain, at a high rate of speed trying to keep up with a van q, mind you there way up in the mountains on a zip zapping road. While laying down in this bob slieghd thing this person is able to monouver it left, and right or around curve. Not only that... Changing in to one wheel skates while still going down the mountian, and catching up to the van, holding on to it.

Sorry, I really don't remember anything else... It's actually really funny I only remember the beginning, and the ending. That how good the stunts were in the beginning, and the end.
Oh, and by the way the end credits song is sung by Jackie Himself... He thanked all him fans for all there support though out the years at the end, it was a pretty heart gelt message to everyone, and sound like he was going to retire, but I guess not.

The question of the day, would I watch this again??? H*LL YEAH!!! Just for the stunts, and action packed Movie.

In short >>A bad but fun movie<<

Overall :

Who watches a Jackie Chan movie for the story ? I know I never did. It never flies high and in this particular case, story and filming are an absolute mess ; but Jackie Chan movies remain fun to watch, especially Jackie Chan's fighting and acrobatics...which is the only reason why I would recommend this movie. I won't lie : giving it a 5/10 is too high for the objective quality of the movie, but my subjectivity cannot give it a bad note.

Story :

If you are curious how not to write a story, you might as well watch this movie. It does a huge fuck you to sense and common ground every five minutes and jumps from a thing to another without a valid reason and is way too quick, nothing feels right. Just...watch...and you'll get it... At least I hope so. As for the ending, I was between facepalming and laughing.

Characters :

You cannot really speak of "characters", even "stereotype" would be too much, they are traits. Sure, there's a try to develop relationships between some characters, but it isn't worked on properly for it to be even credible. And I don't even speak about the motivation of some characters or their unvalid change of hearts.

Acting :

It really varies from one to another. Some are really bad, others are ok, none are outstanding.

Music :

It seems Pirates of Carribean's OST is loved, because some soundtracks certainly sounds like remixes.

Filming :

Oh my goodness, the transitions... I think it's the first time I've seen such a bad use of transitions in my entire life. XD It's so constant to the point it's hilarious how you pass from a moment to another. XD It feels very amateurish. If you want to know how not to do transitions, this movie is a very good example.

As for the scenery...it is ok, most of the time, until you arrive in the jungle...which is the most ridiculous part of the entire movie, not only due to the stage set but also what happens there in general. I'm still laughing thinking about it. I assume there was a huge lack of money, or at least it's the only justification I can give them.

Rewatch Value :

Yeah, it's bad...really bad...but I know I would laugh if I would watch it again. And I would still appreciate Jackie Chan's "martial art". Just for that I could rewatch it. You can call this movie a "nanar" (aka "so bad it's good" or rather, turning funny by how bad it is done).

Doesn't hold a candle to the first two

Jackie's belated third entry into his Armour of God series, Chinese Zodiac unfortunately lumbers like a cheap DVD knock-off of one of his old classics. It's decent if unsophisticated family entertainment that demonstrates that Jackie can still put together creative and unique action set pieces. The problem stems from the fact that it lacks so many of Jackie's creative staples and goes way overboard in terms of preaching to the choir with characters practically stopping dead in their tracks to put on their moralising hat and deliver some earnest statement about national pride; there is certainly a feeling of toeing the party line found here that won't be found in his earlier films. Dealing with the film is like dealing with Jackie himself: you have to tune out the crappy stuff to appreciate the unique entertainer that lies within. That being said, Jackie doesn't phone it in as would be so easy with a legacy sequel like this, he still has some charisma to burn and despite the ugly and glossy digital sheen that coats the movie, it's very well shot and directed. Outside of Jackie the only other member of the cast I enjoyed was Kwon Sang-woo, he certainly made a good impression here and I hope I get to see more of him in future. Lacklustre, slow and overly long, Chinese Zodiac only hints at Jackie's winning combo of kineticism, martial arts and comedy despite being occasionally strikingly shot and having its share of populist fun, it just really doesn't do justice to Jackie's film heritage.
