This series was rly cute and funny but I did't hype so much for this. I think it's more people who are lil bit new in bl drama fans! But I would rewatch it still heh♡! THE STORY IN MY BRAINS: Professional writer named Gene tried writing different and new genre wich was BL. His writingwas so successful, so it gets adapted into BL drama. Gene was invited to see the actors so he could say wich was the best actor for the main role. All of them were bad until Nubsib came (Called "Sib" too). Sib get the main role but he doesn't have place to stay, so he is going to stay with Gene in Gene's house.Was this review helpful to you?

Enjoyable
I'm on the 3rd episode. The storyline is interesting, light, smooth, and fun. This is basically romcom with a little bit of problems related to BL industry. Both of the main characters have grey characters (honestly, they're kinda cunning but they aren't villains). I think you need to take a look at this series if you like something light and A LOT of fan service lol.However, you will know that there will be conflicts with fans if you watch the trailers. They would be something serius in real life, but I think this series wouldn't go that far with this kind of story. I don't mind something realistic (read: big problems caused by fans) but I think this series will keep the story as fun as possible. Enjoy!

Did the writer change mid season???
Amazing start and then story just …Loved how the show was able to show the behind the scenes aspects of a typical BL series. However, all of that is dropped after episode 5-6. Good actors can’t really save mediocre writing. I really believe they changed writers mid season.
Some aspects of the show were so good in the beginning. The first time I saw the request for product placement scene (within the show within the series) and then the actual product placement I laughed out loud. Absolutely brilliant I thought but by the 4th time I was struggling to find it funny.
The whole aspect of having sex scenes in the book and the show as that is what sells and the writers struggle to write them were great but then they have the actual setup scene for the first time sex between the main couple that was one of the most bizarre juvenile things I have ever had the misfortune of watching (I fast forwarded though it, it was so cringe).
I feel that while there wasn’t a whole lot of character development for sib he was one of the best written characters in the show (well acted as well considering the dialogue/script). The poor actor playing Gene however was left portraying someone with an IQ of 70 looking dazed and confused all the time past episode 6 (with some limited infrequent scenes showing him in better light but majority of the times I was screaming MORON). Completely incongruous with a PUBLISHED author and not of just romance genre as he is supposedly a fantasy writer.
The whole you didn’t tell me who you were reaction from Gene was also ODD as heck. It made no sense and then the turn around for it was so sudden as well. The writing needs a LOT of help.
Pacing was so good till episode 6 and then it was very uneven.
Too many side stories that were added just to pad the story. I felt they could have ended the show at 6 episodes and we would have been much happier.
The initial reaction of the parents was portrayed so well and then Sibs’ parents’ scene with the bonsai tree were done well. Don’t understand how it went from that to we care about our reputation more and if you get us this deal we will “look the other way” of your deviant behavior. The attempt at levity was so poorly handled.
Gene’s parents behavior had the same problems. They needed better handle on the writing. There was a scene after Gene’s dad tells him they are okay and the boys meet where Gene asks Sib what will he do if Gene’s dad doesn’t agree to let them be together. Clearly 2 drafts were made and editing was at fault for including an earlier scene.
I am still going to try and finish the series but I have been really really disappointed. Such a waste of good talent. Camera work is amazing , majority of the actors are really good and parts of the dialogue/script are really good.
Update:
I finished the series and I am still disappointed, the show did highlight problems with shipping actors and the effect it has on the real actor's real lives but the stakes weren't actually high enough for the characters chosen for this. Neither one of the main characters is lacking money. Gene is already a successful writer and his relationship with Sib will have no impact on his bankability in fact it should actually improve it. For Sib he has no interest in acting anyway as it has been established that he became interested in this only to get close to Gene.
I also found other issues with the last few episodes. Aey's arc was left dangling and Tiffy's character was completely ruined for me. Tiffy not accepting Tum initially and then doing an about turn and then dumping him really was strange at the very least. It could have been a sweet story of love blossoming between co-workers but it wasn't done justice.
I actually had no issues with seeing the writer inside her own show as I think writer do need to be recognized. It did however, have an unfortunate effect of trivializing the character's struggles as being fictional (a show within a show). If they hadn't included the last scene of the writer writing at her desk it would have been much better IMHO.
I really want to see all the actors in a better made series.

Maybe its too early to tell since but my expectations were high hence the contrast in what I find lacking.
The story was kinda copying Why R U too with G being a BL writer. Also, I kept getting a TT vibe from LW? It made me felt like nothing in this series is a little bit original? Well no BL series is anyways so that i shall overlook.
I hope in later episodes i would see more chemistry from the actors. So far liking the visuals but the acting felt really stiff and made me want to drop it.

Episode 1-4
The first episode and I love the story line, it looks at actors behind the scene with fans interactions, I thought that this was an amazing idea since fans can get to much and believe what is on the drama.Things are going slower compaired to other Thai dramas I have watch, but really like where it is going at the moment but it got confusing for me at some points in the drama.
I like the main actors and the connection with each others so far and liking forward to the rest of the episodes.
Have not seen that much of the other leads yet, hopefully we can see them soon.

The sound effects are ridiculously over the top
Maybe this show is good, maybe it's fantastic even, but oh my GOD there is some stupid sound affect literally every 5 seconds. I'm not even kidding, was a foley artist just not in the budget for 80% of the sound design???? And once you really notice them it's hard to stop and sadly they take me out of the story every time it happens so I guess I'll give up on this one.And since this needs to be at least 500 characters but My Drama List doesn't tell you how many characters you've typed, I hope this is enough.

Le loup (Nubsib) et l’agneau (Gene) entre fiction et réalité…
Sous la couche indécente de confiture, Lovely Writer se révèle être bien plus qu'une simple romance. C'est un drama qui met en avant les défis de la création (un auteur faisant face à la page blanche) et la difficulté de l'industrie du divertissement (tant comme acteur ou auteur).Gene (Up Poompat Iam Samang) est un auteur de romans à suspense horrifique. Sur les recommandations de son éditrice, il se lance dans l'écriture d'un BL et rencontre un tel succès que son projet est porté à l'écran. Paumé, mais d’une grande douceur, Gene est dépassé par les événements. Son nouveau roman cartonne, mais il ne parvient pas à s’en réjouir. Gene est un auteur en proie à de nombreux doutes. Doux comme un agneau, Up Poompat Iam Samang donne à son personnage une dimension tendre et créative.
Casté pour incarner le rôle principal, Nubsib (Kao Noppakao Dechaphatthanakun) est loin d’être l’agneau qu’il montre. Il est plus un loup qui va vivre avec l’agneau qu’est Gene. Aux premiers abords, Nubsib semble louche, notamment quant à ses motivations pour décrocher le rôle principal du roman de Gene. Sans surjouer de ses charmes, ni tomber dans le ridicule, Kao Noppakao Dechaphatthanakun livre une performance franche d’un homme amoureux et déterminé.
La romance est superbe et trouve rapidement son équilibre. L’intensité brute de Nubsib contraste parfaitement avec la douce tendresse de Gene. Leur relation est parsemée de petits souvenirs (avec quelques clichés bien amenés) lui donnant une forme naturelle.
Au-delà de sa romance, Lovely Writer aborde diverses thématiques comme la littérature et le syndrome de la page blanche. Ces dernières années, elle s’est développée au point qu’aujourd’hui, une romance sans sexe n’existe pas (tout comme un drama sans scènes intimes). À moins d’oser la publication en indépendant(e) pour avoir le contrôle complet sur son texte, il est devenu difficile d’écrire une histoire sans scène olé olé. Le sexe fait vendre, et c’est tout le problème de Gene qui se retrouve atteint du syndrome de la page blanche. On y voit ses doutes, ses hésitations, ses questionnements, sa remise en question. Son envie de partager une histoire qu’il aime. Gene se retrouve face à une littérature insipide où les tendances valent plus que la fierté de son créateur. Une autre thématique est l’industrie du BL, victime d’un fan-service étouffant. Les fans ont un rôle important dans la carrière d’un artiste, mais jusqu’où ont-ils le droit d’aller ? C’est un milieu complexe qui laisse peu de place aux secondes chances.
En bref, dans cette version moderne et romancée du loup et de l’agneau, Lovely Writer est un petit coup de cœur tant pour son casting que pour les thématiques abordées, malgré des bruitages incessants (qui finissent par s'atténuer sur la suite).

poderia ter sido melhor.
Essa serie trouxe historias muito interessantes e lados da indústria de BL que já estão sendo bastante abordados, assistindo da pra sentir não só raiva mas muita empatia pelo antagonista, o casal principal combina muito, porém algumas das ideias foram executadas de uma forma não tão interessante. A produção é ótima, a ost é boa, a atuação em geral e a historia são boas também, mas eu esperava algo inovador, esperava que alguns plots tivessem sido melhor trabalhados não só na historia mas também na execução, enfim é um drama muito bom mas não é memorável. Pra quem ama pegação tem bastante e pra quem ama uma historia que se perde e fica sustentada só nessa linha do casal principal se beijando esse drama é perfeito, pra quem não, eu acho que ele é meio.... enfim, dá uma preguiça de assistir.Was this review helpful to you?

Interesante BL con algunas lagunas y algunos puntos positivos
Me he decidido a hacer un review aunque no se ha acabado la serie cuando he leido en twitter algunos comentarios después del capítulo de ayer. Algunos seguidores de la serie quedaron muy contentos con el último episodio y algunos ya le dan el título de mejor serie BL thailandesa. Buenooooo, eso es ser un poco audaz jjajaj ! Sintetizo en frases cortas lo que pienso de la serie:Puntos a favor:
- El tema del consentimiento entre los dos chicos!!!! Muy importante y poco visto en las series BL Tailandesas. El respeto, el consentimiento tendría que ser más presente en los BL. La pareja principal es esencialmente una pareja sana, donde la comunicación funciona.
- La música muy bonita, me ha gustado mucho.
- Crítica a la industria BL: aunque des de un punto de vista humorístico y muy suave, la serie trata este tema. También el de los ships ficticios y el fenómeno fan en este tipo de series.
- Los besos de la pareja!!!!! Madre mía! Muy bien actuados, naturales y tiernos. Las escenas íntimas están hechas con clase. Con sensibilidad.
- La familia y su reacción a la relación homosexual: la serie intenta aproximarse con realismo y seriedad, a lo que suele pasar en la sociedad y las familias. No todo es automático, ni los padres entienden al momento la situación. Hay tensiones y se requiere mucho cariño para superar los prejuicios.
- El six pack de Nubsib es impresionante, para qué negarlo, jajajja
Puntos en contra:
- Los anuncios comerciales inseridos en la historia. Molestan mucho. No es tan solo comer un snak sino comentar sobre una marca (de cepillos de dientes) en medio de una conversación romántica argghhhhh, queda horribleeeeee!!!!
-Ciertas lagunas en la historia, ciertos giros, revelaciones, plot twist que quedan un poco forzados, que te quedas, Comorrrrr? De donde viene esto???
- La duración de algunas escenas, diálogos sin interés, silencios demasiado largos que ni la bonita música puede justificar, esto se ha venido repitiendo des del inicio de la serie.
- Personajes secundarios que de golpe desaparecen. Al principio de la serie parecían tener un papel en la historia pero después desaparecen de manera abrupta sin explicación.
- Pareja secundaria que en el capítulo 9 aún no se ha desarrollado ni explicado casi.
- Las actuaciones son meeeeh , más o menos correctas. A los actores les cuesta emocionarse, llorar, hechar la lágrima vaya y ha habido una escena dramática muuuuuy sobreactuada en algún capítulo anterior. Son buenos besando, eso siiiii, pero hace falta trabajar más los acting skills, para hacernos emocionar de verdad.
En resumen una serie que se deja ver porque ellos son muy monos pero no creo que pase a la historia como un gran BL, sino como un BL bonito más para pasar el rato. No es un bodrio como Oxygen, o A chance to Love ni da cringe como algunas series filipinas (LAKAN es horrible por ejemplo), pero no le llega a Sotus, ItSAY ni a Until we meet again ni a la suela del zapato, jajaj.
Puestos a comparar me gustan más 2 Moons 1/2, My engineer y todas las miniseries bl coreanas que ésta. Pero no la dejaré, ahora me la acabo.
ACABADA: Después de un parón viendo otros BL me he decidido a verla y estoy bastante satisfecha con el final. Un final muy bonito y romántico para nuestros chicos que han tenido una gran química durante toda la serie. Veremos el capítulo especial a ver qué tal, esperemos que no sea un despropósito pero he visto el trailer y no sé no sé.....

A segunda gostei mais...
Não sei porquê , mas na segunda vez gostei mais...A historia ganha logo pontos porque não se passa na faculdade... Isto é, a história "real" .
Mas sim, o que pode se passar por trás das camaras de um BL.
É uma história leve, para passar um boa tarde.
Eu sei se a história prendeu-me o meu interesse quando não tenho aquela coceira de clicar no rato para avançar mais rápido.
Dos nossos actores principais conhecia Nine Nopparat de outro papel que nada tem haver com o Nubsib (que por sinal é o meu Bl).
Já o Up Poompat foi uma agradável novidade para mim.
Por sinal todo elenco foi já que me lembre só conhecia mesmo o Nine.
A musica principal do casal, para o bem ou para o mal, neste momento não me sai da cabeça.
Voltarei a rever? Provavelmente.
PS. Gostaria que houvesse algum tipo de continuação com a história de Aey (Bruce Sirikorn Kananuruk) mesmo que ele tenha sido considerado o "vilão de serviço" acho que merecia um final feliz...

Eu adorei o episódio que o gene fala que o pai dele namorava meninos quando era mais novo
Lovely Writer chegou dando um tapa na cara dos dois lados, e mostrando que a indústria tem os dois lados o lado bom e o lado obscuro, a gente sabe muito bem que existe o lado ruim a gente apenas finge que ele não existe apenas pra ver aquilo que agrada nossos olhos, mostrou também que a empresa pode ser abusiva em questão de relacionamento deles durante a promoção da série e tals e que também se intromete na vida pessoal de seus atores, não só a empresa mais quem assiste também pois ainda existe pessoas que não conseguem separar a vida profissional da vida pessoal, lovely writer quebrando a quinta parede e escancarando ao mundo como as coisas podem ocorrer atrás das cameras durante uma produção..Was this review helpful to you?
De principio a fin, me parece una historia consciente de sí misma; juega entre ficciones y realidades, con algunas críticas hacía una industria (y los fans de ésta), pero dejando en claro que, en sí, es parte de la misma.
Y eso sin dejar de lado la creación de personajes interesantes. De principales a secundarios, nos cuentan un poco del contexto de cada uno para que podamos entenderlos y para dejar un mensaje en particular.
Sobre los protagonistas, al principio tenía cierta aversión hacia Nubsib porque todo en él me gritaba que usaba una sonrisa despampanante y una voz suave con dobles intenciones. Sin embargo, con sus momentos de honestidad empezó a ganarme y eso se reafirmó al saber su historia.
Desde el episodio uno, Gene se convirtió en mi favorito, y disfruté verlo crecer a lo largo de la historia. Pasó de sentirse incómodo respecto a su orientación sexual a enfrentar a otros para que lo respetaran. Además, fue una guía para otros personajes y siempre fue amable.
Gene y Nubsib como pareja me parecieron preciosos. Van ganando confianza el uno en el otro, empiezan a ser honestos y hablar de sus miedos en lugar de ocultarlos; llegan al punto de sentirse cómodos con mostrar su cariño ante sí mismos y ante el resto del mundo.
Por supuesto, tienen su dosis de sufrimiento. No sólo deben sobrepasar sus propias inseguridades, también el hecho de tener una relación siendo figuras públicas, y con personas a su alrededor claramente en desacuerdo con que sean pareja.
El mayor "pero" que le pongo a Lovely Writer es el cierre que le dieron a algunos de los personajes secundarios, no me sentí satisfecha con ellos. Considero que sus finales no fueron equiparables a sus acciones en la trama (para bien o para mal).
La historia de Gene y Nubsib la atesoraré en el top de mis favoritas en el mundo de los bls.
