Fast Paced Cathartic Drama but Not for Everyone
"Vincenzo" has been a total treat to watch. Song Joong Ki has been blessing us with his unique charm.PLOT: Consigliere Vincenzo Cassano, a powerful name in the Italian Mafia returned to Korea to recover hidden gold over 300 million dollars. Guemga plaza, the basement where Wang Shaolin's gold is secured using advanced technology is in the risk of getting demolished by corrupt 'Babel Group'. The basement also contains 'Guillotine File', a file containing misdeeds & secrets of higher officials. This is how our consigliere get involved with the countries major & corrupt in every possible way 'Babel group'. The group is backed up by law firm Wusung. Hong Yu Chang has been fighting for justice for a long time. But power oppresses him. He dies in a conspiracy of Babel regarding narcotic painkiller RDU-9 The main culprit behind of Babel kept his identity and his hideous past hidden using his step brother, Jang Han Seo. The tenants were hostile at first, then they collaborated with Vincenzo their corn salad (misinterpretation of consigliere). Vincenzo believes only evil can erase evil. Amidst all these can the Mafia recover his gold teaming up with Lawyer Hong Cha Young & others tenants.
CAST: The cast did an amazing job. The funny and quirky incidents were enjoyable to watch. Also Kim Sung Cheol's cameo was hilarious. The FL's character initially came across irritating to me but as the story progressed I seemed to like her sassiness. Each tenants were a hidden gem.
OST & PRODUCTION: The OSTs and visual effects (specially scenes in Italy) were pretty nice. I loved the fact that they used some classic Italian songs as background music.
The reasons why I deducted stars:
Inzaghi scene- as a watcher I giggled & enjoyed a lot. But this scene could have been more improvised so that it seemed more logical.
In the last episodes when Jung Joon Woo tries to murder Vincenzo, he seemed to escape with Cha Young. There were various scenes where the situation was way worse and he overcame it. But at this point the fleeing scene did not fit for me.
I get it Jung Joon Woo wanted to kill his brother using his own gun. But in such a prime moment, you've killed many before, now you're somehow free from jail, you just come with 2 bullets!
In short "Vincenzo" was really enjoyable. If you're expecting gore and extreme violence hearing 'mafia' from this drama then sorry to disappoint, this was more like a dark comedy. If you liked "Chief Kim" or "Fiery Priest" you're gonna love it. This was fairly a 8.6 or 8.7 rated drama to me.
I would recommend giving it a try.

A criticism towards corrupted people
Vincenzo as a character is so interesting, and I see this as a criticism towards corrupted people who manipulated the law. I started watching this purely for the actions and thrill so I am very satisfied with the whole story and ending, the romance is there and it didn't ruin the plot, it feels just right. Jang Han Seok as villain also did great, but I personally think that Choi Myung Hee is the most annoying one. Why? Well, Jang Han Seok is a born psychopath so him doing all these crimes didn't get into my nerve as much as Choi Myung Hee because it just his nature and was built like that, while Choi Myung Hee is another ordinary human being but choose to be a bad person. I also love how Vincenzo stick with his principles by not sending them to jail whatsoever and punished them himself. Gonna miss seeing the Geumga plaza residents too❣Was this review helpful to you?
Rich in many ways
The series presented many cultures (Korean, Italian, biblical, Buddhist, ... ) presenting a mafia person, who somehow never forgot spoken and written Korean, and barely learned Italian, though an Italian lawyer. He is caught in a good vs. evil war, siding with the former, though unable or unwanting to shed his old self.
In the end I wondered whether I had to go through so many killings, and why the author chose not to develop some relationships among the cast. I am not only referring to the woman protecting Vincenzo from getting shot, de facto a "I love you" declaration, which went pretty much nowhere. I am talking about developing the mom-son relationship in the Plaza, do more with the pawn shop couple, get the cook out of his goofiness by learning how to cook, ...
I also disliked the plethora of revelations about the past of the Plaza folks. Too artificial.
Liked the defenestration scene at the end of ep. 19, the re-creation of Delacroix' masterpiece "La Liberté guidant le peuple", the music overall, and the fact that the author spent time to tie together everything in the end.

This drama is ALL about Vincenzo and no one else!!!
I was not keen on watching this drama but the pretty gifs on tumblr made me do it. The first few episodes were a task to get through but once it picks pace, it is amazing and a very enjoyable drama. However, if you're looking for some girl power moments or solid teamwork sort of a thing, you are going to be disappointed because Vincenzo does ALL the work and also takes ALL the credit, it gets really frustrating at times.
The acting performance by all the cast members is absolutely phenomenal, they carried the show on their back. Especially Ok Taecyeon and Kwak Dong yeon. Song Joong Ki is breath-taking as always, this time with his visuals AND his performance. Jeon Yeobin was great too, though I would have loved to see her kick some butts in the court :(
Conclusion: Vincenzo is a must-watch for the outstanding work of the actors. The story crumbles in the last few episodes and the whole deal becomes quite violent for no significant reason. If that's your cup of tea, you can go ahead with it.

Overhyped
I can't believe this has a 9 rating, really? The only thing exceptional about this show was the cinematography. If they hadn't mixed genres and kept this a serious, beautifully shot thrilling mobster romance, it could have been worthy of that 9. Instead the genre mixing of so many attempts at comedy, goofiness and more was really out of place here and cheapened the experience. The acting was just okay. Like I said, nothing else was exceptional. I dropped it at episode 6 and have no desire to go back to it.

Acting that will push you off the chair
The acting throughout the series is brilliant and she alone deserves a very strong 8. Each of the characters is completely convincing and they don't step out of their roles for a second. It's a pleasure to watch such actors.(....)
Song Joong Ki as Vincenzo was insane in every meaning of this word. Before starting this series, I was afraid of this casting because who thought of giving a role to a child-like guy? His cute face contrasts enormously with the character's being and actions but it works.... oh it works!
(....)
Kim Yeo Jin as Choi Myung Hee was on the other hand, a typical evil character that you despise from the very beginning, hate in every single episode and watch the drama just to see her bad end 😠 Nothing more and nothing less to be said about this character.
(....)
Drama had a very strong cast that brought it to the top, but the script itself wasn't fantastic. The story presented was quite trivial and many minor elements could be predicted. The humorous scenes introduced were very enjoyable and balanced well with the brutal ending.
I totally recommend the drama. Why?! Check my blog for more https://my-asian-dramas.blogspot.com/2022/05/sono-vincenzo.html

AMAZINGG
This is one of the drama that makes you love them through humor, action, and entertainment. The emotions, chemistry and the duo between the two main leads are amazing. The whole team of vincenzo is amazing though, especially as it progresses. Seeing there bond become closer and closer is an amazing. Was this review helpful to you?

I'm... I'm speechless
I've literally just finished this so apologies if this review is a bit all over the place, I might come back to edit this in the future. But for now-Wtf was this show.
I'll be honest I attempted to watch it twice before this. Each time I only got a few episodes in and both times I just didn't get it. I couldn't see why it was so popular. Either way the kdrama subreddit had a post asking for shows they dropped, tried again and loved. Vincenzo was commented and said to just get to like ep3/4 then it really picks up. I was like okay lets try it again. And honestly thank God I did.
First thoughts in the aftermath of the finale... I sobbed at Han-Seo's death. Like actually cried. I didn't realise how much I was growing to love his character until like ep17 when he switched sides and began to help Vincenzo. Then it was seeing how much he didn't want anyone else to get hurt, how willing he was to help and showed genuine growth in trying to better himself and became smarter to run Babel. And his friendship was Vincenzo was so sweet. I am crushed that he didn't get a happy ending. He deserved one after all that he went through and his finale words asking if he did well broke me. Han-Seo is the definition of deserved better and he is probably my favourite character of this entire show.
Now onto Han-Seok. Taecyeon acted the hell out of this role and I have to say he was my favourite actor in this show. He managed to absolutely pull of the crazy and the downright unnerving nature that Han-Seok's character needed. I cannot sing my praises about him enough. Honestly might have to check out 2pm because I have that much respect for what he achieved. Han-Seok as a villian is probably my favourite villian to date. I loved the direction of introducing him as this weird, lovable intern and the end of ep4 threw me off. After that his scenes were so much fun to watch whenever he was pretending as Jun-woo because I'd just watch for his reactions, to see a slip of the real personality and it just made the show that much more enjoyable and Han-Seok as a character compelling to watch. A fantastic villian right until the end.
Vincenzo weirdly grew on me more as the show went on and I'm not going to lie, the moment he started going full Mafia was when I was truly loved his character. His scenes were absolutely brutal and so satisfying in that last episode, they deserved all that they got and more so it was great to see Han-Seok get what he deserved, especially for his brother. Vincenzo was a great main character and Joong-ki pulled off the role so well and credit where credits due because he nailed the personality of Vincenzo to a tee.
Cha-young is a complicated character for me, she really annoyed me in the first few episodes and even by the end she wasn't my favourite character by a mile but I enjoyed her scenes and she did somewhat grow on me by the end. I'm glad she become a successful lawyer and I do like her and Vincenzo together. Also, the side characters were great and I loved all of them in their individual way.
A bit of a long review as the overall rating may go up as the more I think about it but honestly this was such a well produced show with incredibly talented actors and actresses and I enjoyed every minute of it. Once again thank you to that kdrama subreddit and shout out to Han-Seo (you deserved the world) and Taecyeon for being an incredible Han-Seok!

A really good crime drama with comedy, great storyline <33(taecyeon s acting was top notch)
First of all I'll start it off with that I LOVED this drama ngl, yeah it might boring a little in between so not binge worthy but the drama blew me away, it absolutely exceeded my expectations, I got so much from the drama when I thought It going to be mid, if your looking for romance in this drama. It is there but it's a side aspect. Bro taecyeon ✨✨ nahh he literally carried the entire show, he looked so hot as a villian, the way he could switch between two completely different personalities was mind blowing. He acting was so good that it made me love him even though he's the villain. If you don't know taecyeon in the behind the scenes was such a cutie and just like a child and all, but as soon as the cameras started rolling he switched to a complete different person. The drama had a great storyline, it was really entertaining, and full of excitement, mystery.
Overall I strongly recommend this drama whether u r a crime or not a crime lover✨<33

One of the best k dramas ever!!
Why did I wait so long to watch this perfection? It took me ages to get into. I started last year and dropped it after 2 episodes. I picked it up 2 months ago and stopped after episode 4 when her dad died. I finally continued last week and was addicted!! 😍😂 One of the BEST KDRAMAS EVER!!!The sIow burning was burning, but it was perfection! I am absolutely in love with them. Absolute icons. The way he fell first and hader made me crazy 😍😍 One of the best tropes! The fake dating scene turned proposal to that kiss. I WAS SCREAMING!! We only had 2 kiss scenes together. I wanted their dating era so much! The open ending annoyed me, but his confession was everything!!! 😭😫🤌🤭🥺💙 OMG they were absolutely chaotic and funny and cute and perfect together, and I just can't get over them 😭😍😫😭🥺
I did not see the plot twist coming. Never expected who the Babel CEO was. I hated him so much after the reveal. And the brother. OMG the brother DID NOT deserve that ending. I am so mad about that. Also Vincenzo 's mother. Like why?!? And her father before she could ever apologise for her last words and had to live with the guilt. At least Vincenzo's mother found out about him. Ugh the amount of trauma in this show. I cried so much 😭😭🥺😫😭 But Babel and Wusang got what they deserved.
I love the plaza residents though. The Cassano family is chaotic, hilarious, and perfect 😂😂💙 I was so shocked when we found out about all of their background. I could never have guessed. And Ingazhi is an ICON! 😂😍😂🤌 Edits are keeping me fed for now but will definitely be rewatching 😊

Shocking!
