All the actors were good in their roles. Kang Tae Oh was somewhat wasted as he mostly just stood there and smiled. Admittedly the idea of his character was a fantasy, a figment of past memories by Ji Na but wasted is the term that I'll go for. The best two actors were the ones with the strongest characters - Seo In Guk and Lee Soo Hyuk. Lee Soo Hyuk is so good and I'm glad he was used correctly. Tak Dong Kyung as a character was likeable. The choices the writers go in aren't too wayward. Park Bo Young was witty and amusing as always.
I had a good idea of what I was going to write for this review and rethinking about it has made me rewrite complete sentences. Enjoyable but wasted potential.

A Beautiful Mix of Fantasy, Emotion & Romance
Bo Young and In Guk really slayed their roles. Their chemistry was amazing—funny at first, then emotional and heartwarming later on. I loved how their relationship grew throughout the drama. The storyline was so unique and fresh. The fantasy part was done really well—not confusing or over-the-top, but magical and meaningful. The idea of doom as a person was something new, and it made the drama stand out.
This drama had everything—comedy, sadness, reality, and so many emotions. It made me smile, laugh, and even cry a little. It felt unreal in the best way and had me hooked from beginning to end.
I also liked that it didn’t just focus on the main leads. The side characters were given proper stories too, which made it more interesting and fun to watch.
And the music? Absolutely beautiful. The OST and background score were
so good, I had to add them to my playlist. The music added so much to every scene.
If you're into fantasy romance with deep emotions and a unique story, Doom at Your Service is definitely worth watching.

you are right where you’re supposed to be.
You are right where you’re supposed to be.“Life’s tough, man up.” No—life’s tough, but you’re strong, so you’ll get to where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to get there.
I have always said ‘if Park Bo Young is on screen it's gonna be good’ and this is yet another example of that.
This is my opinion, my liking to the show, my pros and cons, so if you disagree - love that for you and if you agree love that for you. Here's my review :3
spoilers further down:)
Should you watch the show?
To put it simply, yes. The acting is superb, the chemistry is great, the show hosts beautiful actors and actresses, plenty of character development and a great lesson. A con? The series is a little lengthy and a few scenes repeat themselves. But did I think it was worth it? 100% would you? I hope so.
This show introduced me to a lot of new faces, and I can confidently say it won’t be the last time I see them on screen. The OST was AMAZING—you best believe I’ll be singing it for the next few weeks.
The script and storyline?
Well i think the storyline/script had a few flaws — like how the break up scene occurred a few times too many and at times, it felt like communication was conveniently put aside for the sake of plot tension. I am also a bit salty about not getting a wedding for our lovely mains.
So yeah, Doom at Your Service wasn’t perfect—but it was beautiful, emotional, and had me way too invested in fictional people making terrible communication choices. I laughed, I cried, I got mad, and I loved every second of it. If you’re in the mood for something messy but meaningful, dramatic but comforting, this show might just be the one. I may not have gotten the wedding, but I definitely got the feels.
Thanks for reading.
Have a lovely day, you beautiful person -IJ

It had potential
This K-Drama had the potential to be one of the best but the second half of it was such a letdownWhy did I like the first half so much? The main couple were undeniably adorable, the story between Myeongmal and the deity made me curious, the second lead couple were decently interesting [keep this in mind], and the main female lead's story about her terminal disease was also interesting. As a video student, the cinematography was just genuinely amazing. On top of that, Ailee's OST "Breaking Down" was undeniably one of the best OST's there are.
But what happened to it? Why did I ended up giving the story a 6 and rewatch value a 4.5?
It was genuinely draggy, the story between Myeongmal and the deity was built up and it was at its climax but they didn't explore it deeper, the second lead couple became boring and toxic. Kevin's scenes [the Aunt's canadian boyfriend] could've been swapped with a story for the deity. They also didn't explore Dongkyung's disease any deeper.
Now am I saying that I hated the second half? No. As much of a letdown it was, I still liked it. I liked Seonkyung's story of discovering what he wanted at the end, Joo-ik leaving the publishing company to create his own, the main lead couple was once again adorable, the editorial team had a better story than the second lead couple even though they were only there for a few episodes.
Overall:
I didn't regret watching it but would I rewatch it? I want to say yes but I would not waste 16 hours re-watching this one. It was a decent k-drama with pretty cast, pretty ost, pretty cinematography but boring writing [at least for the second half].

Good Drama but something off
It could have been betterThe drama had too much going on and didn't make sense at times. The actors were the selling point of this show to me, Park Bo Young and Seo In Guk's chemistry really made me forget about the inconsistencies at times. The supporting characters are fun to watch too, especially Na Ji Na, Cha Joo Ik and Lee Hyun Kyu. Their romance doesn't follow the usual narrative and that's something I appreciate. Overall though in order to really enjoy it I had to switch off my brain which isn't what I want to be doing.

it got so extra
i liked the story in the start but as the story progressed it started to get kinda confusing coz of poor arrangement of the plots and all the actors are amazing but the story became a bit too much as it proceeded like too much parting and stuff they tried to make it like very very emotional but it kinda became annoying for me at lease at one pointand i liked the funny scenes which weren't many but were still there i don't remember most of the drama coz I watched it a long long time ago like almost 4-5 years ago I think but I remember the feeling when I watched it

Existential Crisis With a Side of Confusion.
A shitty pace existential fairytale that accidentally burned out halfway.✨ THE GOOD (let’s give credit where due):
- Seo In-guk carries the show on his cheekbones alone. The man got some charisma , somehow ?
- Some scenes actually slap you with meaning some grief, love, and mortality wrapped up in a single line.
If you squint, you feel it.
-The OST does overtime. Melancholy piano? Check. Emotional guitar riffs? Double check. At least the music knows what it’s doing.
💤 THE “WHY AM I STILL HERE?” PACKAGE:
- Pacing is a crime. Whole episodes feel like you’re trapped in molasses. Someone call the K-drama police for god sake !
-Tonal whiplash: one moment we’re drowning in philosophy, the next it’s awkward rom-com stereo shit energy.
Who edited this,! two different people on different freaking drugs?
-Half the side characters feel like they wandered in from another show. NPC vibes, delivering lines like they’re lost in a manhwa filler arc.
🤔 THE “MEANING BURIED SOMEWHERE SOME__F***ING__HOW” ENERGY:
-Deep messages exist — about mortality, love, and sacrifice — but you have to shovel through so much fluff it feels like homework.
-Metaphors everywhere, but not all of them or maybe even none actualy land. Sometimes it’s profound, other times it’s just word salad with extra dressing.
💔 THE “I WANTED TO LOVE THIS” DEPARTMENT:
-Could’ve been a haunting f***ing goodshow . Instead, it’s more like a moody Instagram post stretched into 16 episodes.
-When it hits, it really should hits , key word here "SHOULD"… but the in-betweens? Dead air. Like, Doom, buddy, do us a favor and speed this shit up.
🎯 FINAL VERDICT:
"A drama that flirts with greatness but ends up ghosting you with pacing issues. Watch for Seo In-guk’s smirk
(you're a simp btw ) and the occasional existential sucker slap. Skip if you don’t have the patience of a saint or even some taste ."
Best paired with:
☕ Coffee strong enough to keep you awake, tissues for the three genuinely moving scenes, and a fast-forward vibranium button so it sticks around after .

To be honest, the storyline was a little confusing to me, but the acting, the OST and the cinematography made it up to me. Seo Inguk and Kang Taeoh are so handsome that was a huge bonus. I don’t really like the second romance, only because I’m not a huge fan of love triangles, and Kang Taeoh was so likeable and cute😭. Her brother was also really cute and fun to watch. I sort of expected it to be super sad and melodramatic but it was quite light. Although it did have some super sad moments. And I know people wanted it to be a sad ending but tbh who watches shows for their realistic aspect? I watch purely for entertainment so sad endings don’t work for me. Overall it was a really great watch, I definitely recommend it. Was this review helpful to you?

Is it worth watching? No but yes.
I was so excited to start this drama and finished it with a smile, overall I liked & enjoyed it but there's something that bothered me and still bothers me a few days after finishing it. It's the fact that the concept and plot had amazing potential but the execution was just decent/okay.Story (7/10)
The story started very strong, reading the short summary of it already got me interested and my curiosity went through the roof after finishing the first episode, I thought about so many possibilities of how the story could progress and how the ending would look like. Doom as an immortal being and the female lead Tak Dong Kyung who only has three months to live eventually falling in love with each other sounds so thrilling and interesting, the concept itself has a huge amount of potential but it kinda went back and forth at half-time of the drama + they dragged it a little too much with some decisions from the characters that seemed unnecessary to me. Even though it went back and forth at some point, some scenes were so emotional and well-executed. I didn't enjoy the love triangle of the other three major characters in the story, I'll talk about that later though. However I must say that there were a lot of beautiful life lessons and messages hidden in the story. The chemistry of the main two leads was the reason I kept watching, which leads us to the amazing cast and acting in this drama that I enjoyed a lot more than the story itself.
Cast/Acting (9.5/10)
As someone who's been a fan of Park Bo Young since Strong Woman, I got so excited when I heard that she got to be the main lead in a 2021 drama. Then I realized Seo In Guk is gonna be the male lead, I haven't seen any of his dramas before but remembered his small guest role in Abyss. I've been interested in him for a long time so I thought that this drama is gonna be perfect for me and I wasn't disappointed by the two main leads of this drama. Their INSANE chemistry alone got me to continue watching this. One of my favorite female actors + one of the most talented and attractive actors I've seen in a while were the perfect match and made the drama 10x more interesting for me. Their acting was incredible as well, Park Bo Young played a more mature role this time which I haven't seen a lot from her and it was really refreshing to see, her acting was as good as ever. Seo In Guk also surprised me, even though it was the first time I've seen him as a male lead I think that his role fit him perfectly and his acting was on point. He was able to convey so many emotions through his eyes only and I enjoyed his role & acting so so much. He officially became one of my favorite actors.
On the other hand as I have already mentioned, the love triangle didn't interest me as much as the main couple. I payed attention in the first few episodes but they slowly lost my attention. It's not that I didn't like the three as actors, I just didn't get strongly invested in their conflict/story and mostly skipped all of their scenes near the end because it lost my interest. However, I liked their roles outside of that (in my opinion) kinda boring love triangle. For example Na Ji Na as Dong Kyung's best friend.
I adore our main character Tak Dong Kyung's family and there were some other supporting characters that were really interesting to me, 9.5/10 for the cast and their acting.
Music (10/10)
TXT, Ailee, Baekhyun, do I have to say more? The OST for this drama is godly. Next to the two leads, it has to be the best thing about this drama. Even our male lead Seo In Guk sang a song and I absolutely love it, even the instrumental OST is so good, my favorite one is "Doom" and I personally think it fits the mood and atmosphere perfectly. My favorite OST overall has to be Breaking Down by Ailee though, I have been listening to it since Episode 1 and haven't got sick of it. But all the other songs are really great as well and there's not one that I particularly hate or don't like, which is why the music gets a solid 10 out of 10 from me.
All in all a pretty good drama, I still got attached to it even though I personally think they could've done a lot more with the concept and plot. It had very entertaining, emotional, funny, heartwarming and breaking moments even with its downsides but the bboing couple aka. Park Bo Young and Seo In Guk carried the show a whole lot. They were adorable and I was blown away by their chemistry. It's honestly worth watching just for them, it comes with an incredible OST and a good story that has some downsides - in the end the drama still gets a 8.5/10 from me.

Doom at your service: 5/13/25 ~ 6/22/25
I kept seeing this drama all over TikTok so I figured I would give it a try, since everyone was giving it such high praise. The beginning few episodes were a little hard to get into mainly because there was so much story building with not really much story progression, also because it’s a sad story considering what the FL is going through. However as the story progresses I found myself heavily intrigued and staying up late to watch every episode. This drama showed the harsh reality of looming death through the FL and the reactions of everyone around here were very real and heartbreaking. Especially when it came to how the FL tried to hide it at first, since she didn’t want to worry about anyone. Besides that the way romance between the FL and ML made sense, since it was gradual and something that felt natural and not forced. Two people who spend so much time together are bound to care for each other and even make sacrifices, as we see they do for each other. I also like how in the end the ML becomes human, because it allows him to grow old with FL. It something so simple but holds so much meaning. Lastly the side couple was very cute though at times there drama felt a little unnecessary and kinda didn’t really fit into the story. It was like two dramas being meshed into one instead of two story’s taking place inside one drama. Was this review helpful to you?
