A Must Watch
I found this to be such a wonderful drama. It was slow but very much worth it. The lead characters were wonderful and they had so much chemistry. I love the story even more because I just finish watching "One And Only" and there is so much of this drama talks about "One and Only." Ren Jia Lun and Bai Lu are in both drama and I was curious about how good this drama would be. Well it met my expectation. They are a great team together and their acting is just wonderful. I believe both of these drama have become in my top 10 list. The actors did a great job in their performances. I loved all the characters. A must watch for everyone. The music was great. Was this review helpful to you?
Beautiful Story, Cute Chemistry
Like I expected before, this drama is so beautiful!Zhousheng Chen and Shi Yi once again got a second chance and this time they were not limited by status and situation. They can relate to each other and not hide their feelings for each other. Once again they get a second chance, although it's not like in the book Shi Yi doesn't remember their past, but everything else is still in line with the novel.
But behind Zhousheng Chen's family relationship lies a big secret that could harm Shi Yi. However, Shi Yi was not easily frightened by the pressure from the Xiao Chen family.
The people around the two of them were also adorable, one of them was Lin Shu! The words Zhousheng Chen and Shi Yi said were also like the ones that came to my mind while watching. They are so cute and adorable!
I also like the original soundtrack, it really explains the story. Must watch!

Must Watch
I was recommend by a friend to watch one and only where I’m crying with my whole box of issue.I’m getting excited when they release forever and ever.
After a miserable life in past, finally both of them are together!
I like Bailu and Allen acting. I love how they carry their character in this drama. SY a straightforward girls and will pursue the thing she want. ZSC is a shy professor and observant.
I feel so touch with the words ZSC told SY parents that he will take care of SY if she continue to be in coma. Finally they have a happy ending

If you think one and only is slow, do not watch this one! it's not a continuation of one and only. It's just about reincarnation and finding true love in another lifetime. Other than that, there is no connection whatsoever. The casts (other than the main ones) are also different from one and only. The era is many gazilion years after one and only. So if you would like to skip this one, you're not missing anything. This has got to be the slowest drama that I've ever watched. I watched it in 1.5x speed and it still feels slow. In this one, Allen Ren's character is so timid and cowardice that i want to smack him in the head sometimes. Even after they're married, they don't act like a married couple - this i don't get at all. And the whole relationship is so unreal, especially since it's set in the modern period. There is very minimal conflict and until now i don't get who the antagonistic character is.
I think this is made especially for those people who hate the sad ending in One and Only, and would like to see the couple get together, which i totally understand. But this seems forced to me.
One and Only is so much better and in my opinion, you can watch it as a stand alone. I'm not one who hates sad ending. So it's fine for me. Sad ending is preferable than any open ending

Bit disappointed TBH
After the tragic ending of One and Only and the vow FL lead made at the end, I expected more from this sequel.I felt the chemistry was lacking most of the way through, there was no alluding to their past until she fell off the balcony (whatever happened to the bad guy? A vague comment from the parents…) and I get that Allen Ren may have signed a no kissing agreement but they didn’t even hug or show any form of physical affection either in public or private made this majorly frustrating and frankly unbelievable, they’re newly weds FFS.
The only upside was the lawyer who was great eye candy and a brilliant actor and the occasional bit of light relief.
If you want a slow burn romance that only really comes alive in the last few episodes then perhaps this is for you but I found the whole thing a bit dreary

What a ride of beautiful bones
Finally after 50+ episodes our SZC and Shiyi are happily married! I Loved this series so much, might watch a few times. I liked the book better, but of course the book (original) is always better. I thought that Bai Lu and RJL did an overall great job, even some of his limitations. Could it have been better, yes there were a few things that could have been better, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I was smiling, giggling like a high school girl most of the time, compared to OnO where I cried majority of time. What a beautiful ending to heal our soul. Was this review helpful to you?
ended happily after the bitterness and suffering in the prequel
After giving my brief review on One and Only, of course I didn't forget to write my short review for the sequel of One and Only for this drama "Forever and Ever"after the tragic ending and the bitterness they suffered in the prequel finally I can see so many romantic and sweet scenes of them in the sequel, I am very happy and satisfied because the writer is not stingy to give us a lot of their romantic scenes, the development of their relationship from the episode to the end of the story is true -really touches my heart, this is the only modern drama I've ever watched whose life is closer to the real life path I've ever seen, compared to other modern dramas I've watched so far...
to be honest if look at the acting, and the characters other than the main leads, I like all the players in one and only more than Forever and Ever, as well as the soundtrack in OAO is much more lively than in FAE, but overall 10/10 for this sequel.
I LOVE BOTH OF ALLEN REN AND BAILU ACTING FOR THIS DRAMA..

Disappointing sequel
😔… Oops. I’m surprised how much I didn’t like this drama to be honest. I skipped a lot in the second half of this, and the final showdown in episode 28 was just absolutely ridiculous and over the top. It felt like a hysterical soap opera and I did not enjoy it.“One and Only” was a masterpiece and I loved every second of it, but I dislike “Forever and Ever” with the same intensity I would use to describe its prequel. Had I watched F&E on its own, I would have never understood why the characters like each other and why they feel any kind of attraction to one another. I loved the male lead in O&O, but here?? He was so painfully ALOOF, it made me mad sometimes. At first, I liked how awkward he was, but after a while I was so annoyed. Shi Yi is probably the only person on earth to have this much patience and to love the man – no one else would want to put up with someone this … dense (sometimes). The characters were also so… prudish for their ages. Like, you already slept with each other, but then can’t sleep in the same bed or change clothes in front of each other? The male lead really stood in the rain while Shi Yi changed her shirt, as if he couldn’t have just turned around IN THE CAR. Like, that is just too much. Also, wtf was his deal with timing her night routine?? So weird, and to do it standing outside her apartment. That’s creepy, not romantic lol.
I also heavily disliked the script. I don’t think it did Bai Lu or Ren Jia Lun any favors – it rather led to me thinking that these two talented and capable actors were only delivering a sub-par performance. Interactions between characters felt wooden, stiff, awkward and uncomfortable. While O&O had a nice rhythm and flow, F&E felt weird and choppy. This series felt like… a series – in the sense that it just felt like I knew this was being filmed. It didn’t feel like I or the actors fully immersed themselves into it and became the characters (because this is what O&O felt like: I was fully immersed and believed everything I saw/it was convincing).
The family drama…. Bro, wtf was that. I felt like it was so much more dramatic, intricate (not the good kind) and hysterical than it could have EVER been in the prequel. Too many (old) people – I didn’t CARE, sorry.
I loved the cinematography, locations/sets, coloring, OST and styling for this show though. The leads also shared some really nice moments that made me hopeful, but … eh. Most of the time, I felt let-down. Overall, quite disappointing and not worthy of being O&O sequel.

Wasn't a fan :(
I want to start this review by saying the genre MEOLODRAMA is not for me.So this is "me not the show" situation. I didn't know the genre going in and part two definitely was MEOLODRAMA heavy.
One & Only is a historical, war, Meolodrama. This is Part one of the story/plot.
Forever and Ever is a modern day Meolodrama. This is part two of the story/plot.
Technology you don't have to watch Part One to fully understand Part Two but it's advised.
PROS:
◇Bai Lu is an amazing actress and I will ALWAYS give all her projects a try just for her. She was in the 1st Cdrama I ever watched so I'm a huge fan. ♡
◇Some of the side characters especially the kind ones. Loved them and wanted to protect them.
◇The OST
◇The Reborn trope always a fan.
CONS:
◇I didn't like the Meolodrama elements of it. (Again that's on me for not double checking the genre before going in)
◇Amazing actors but sadly didn't feel the chemistry between them.
The only reason I finished it was because I was promised a happy ending. Also that part two was lighter. Will it wasn't yes the LEADS got a happy ending but part two felt even more sad then part one at times.
Overall if you are a fan of Bai Lu and are trying to watch all her projects then maybe watch. If not maybe pass on it 🙈
Also many Trigger/ Content Warnings please look into before starting.

Wish that it's longer
This drama has given me mixed feelings. I love the drama, no doubt. The characters, the visuals, the sceneries and the storyline. They are all great. However, I'm caught in this dilemma where there are things I wish I could see from the drama but at the same time, I understand why they are not shown.*Spoiler alert*
Here are some things I wish to see:
1) They went on and on about how complicated Zhou Sheng Chen's family is but other than the brief talk or tiny revelations of the family story, there is no further elaboration. A little more family drama will be good actually.
2) Zhou Wen Chuan is the villain of this drama. However, throughout the entire drama, I've been seeing the result of his evildoing but not so much the act itself. It feels as though they skipped though the evil parts and went straight to the end result.
3) Considering how long it took Zhou Sheng Chen and Shi Yi to finally have that peaceful relationship, 3/4 of an episode is really not enough. Would really want to see a little bit of what happens after marriage.
Based on my interpretations, here are the reasons why I think they did not elaborate further on the points above.
1) This is a continuation from One and Only. It's kind of reasonable to put more focus on the main couple's relationship seeing how the prequel had already given them a tragic story. I see everything that had happened in Forever and Ever as an answer or response to the prequel.
2) I guess the main theme of the drama is really slow romance, not exactly family drama. So again, they probably want to put the focus back on the couple's chemistry and how that is strengthen through the ups and downs.
3) Throughout the drama, I see one thing that seemed to be the end goal and the couple had the hardest time fulfilling it - making that wedding happen. Having the wedding in the end as a happy ending to the drama seem to be quite appropriate.
Again, these are just purely my interpretation. I love the details put into this drama and the hidden meanings behind every action and everything that had happened. This is definitely a great continuation from One and Only.

Slow and clunky but kind of cute
They felt like strangers for a while even while they were married. The male lead was odd and socially awkward and the female lead was kind of leafing the whole romance. It was definitely draggy at times but in spite of that it was cute in its own way. He did a lot for her silently and she kind of understood his awkward nature for the most part. There are literally no kissing scenes but there are a few references to intimacy. Slow burn indeed and more for those that watched the prequel i thinkWas this review helpful to you?
