The movie from the beginning was dark, it was unpredictable as it went on.. I don't know why I chose to watch this movie but now, I'm glad I did. The title was kinda misleading though, or maybe I assumed it the wrong way. I assumed the movie to be about a plan, like a robbery. Poor me, I didn't know what it was all about!
The movie may look as if it was poorly taken, but trust me you won't be disappointed in the end. I kept on asking myself how this is gonna end because you won't know where the story is going. The acting was really good and expressive!
This is a story about three orphan friends who were happy but things got worse due to a particular incident and how they overcome it in the future.
As for me, the ending was satisfying.
Watch it and you won't regret.

This is an amazing movie starring Iwata Takanori and Mackenyu. For me, it's as beautiful in its tragedy as Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning. I'm not going to talk about the plot because the slow unraveling of Makoto's "master plan" is the whole point of the movie, it's really well paced and it's better to go in unspoiled. What I am going to talk about is my heart, in itty bitty pieces...

This movie is also known under the title The End of the Tiny World and said tiny world is that of Iwata Takanori's Kida. Like he said to the girl he loved, Yocchi, "My world is really tiny. It's just me and you and Makoto." (Paraphrasing!) And the movie is about how his tiny world ended and he was left with nothing. It's heartbreaking.

And Iwata Takanori is mesmerizing to watch here. Seeing his Kida turn from a small town mechanic into a self-assured negotiator for the mob, to someone who pulls a gun and fires it without blinking, that's a thing to behold.

A truly unforgettable movie. Small, almost intimate yet unforgettable.

This Movie Is A Masterpiece

I wasn't originally going to write a review, but after I finished the movie I found that I couldn't stop thinking about it.
It has actually consumed my thoughts and feelings so I thought I might share my opinions in order to convince you to watch it.

The movie starts out simple and slow, it does such a perfect job of world building, and most importantly, relationship building. I found myself confused halfway through, constantly wondering why Makoto had such an obession with Lisa and when I found the answer, my heart shattered.

This movie is so beautifully heartbreaking. Everything about it is so poetic, like when Makoto lights fireworks in winter because she loved them. I replay moments from this film in my head over and over and always find new sorrowful details I hadn't considered before.

I more than just recommended this movie. I hope everyone gets a chance to watch this, or something like this once in their life. Sure, there may have been predictable parts and maybe even boring parts, but nonetheless I consider this film a work of art.

Mackenyu especially did such a fantastic job, I have never seen him convey such joy and such sorrow before, it was incredible.

Please give this movie a chance, you won't regret it.

This movie broke me.

I don't know where to start this.

I love non-linear stories; the jumps in time that the plot does are what make this movie very engaging for me. Another thing I liked was the friendship between Makoto and Kida. Their friendship felt very realistic, and I will praise Kida's character a lot. He was a real friend, he stood by Makoto's side no matter what (not even when Makoto was talking about proposing to Yocchi, the woman Kida was in love with), and not even after Makoto disappeared from his life, he gave up on him; Kida entered a shady buisseness, with no possibility of getting out, just to be able to find his friend. His character was very selfless, many of the things he did were to help Makoto, and even his boss (I forgot his name) quickly caught that he barely did things for himself.

That scene of Kida watching the explosion from the window, with a heartbroken expression, destroyed me completely. I ugly cried the first time I watched this. Very recommended.
