Similar stalker second leads that don't take no for an answer and investigations into family members deaths plus palace politics.

fun and cute love stories. very little angst in the stories. adorable moments of affection. the stories relationships start sour but ends well

• Both dramas have a strong and gutsy female lead who isn’t afraid to break rules.
• The heroines step into worlds dominated by men (military academy vs. imperial college) and prove themselves.
• There’s a hint of disguised identity / going against societal expectations which makes things fun to watch.
• Romance with a high-status male lead who starts off either proud or aloof but eventually softens up.
• Light-hearted and comedic moments balance out the historical setting.
• Both are about growth, confidence, and showing everyone that the heroine can do just as well (if not better) than the guys.

I agree that the 2nd couple (Leyan and Houdo) outdid the 1st couple in terms of showmanship, personality and acting. Houdo has that effective facial expression that viewers couldn't took t ones eyes away from him when he is in focus. It is Leyan who is in wanting. I missed that look of love from Leyan's face in "a female student... when he looked at Xu kaicheng. He should have looked at Houdo that way during their dialogue after the fight in the ring. Much improvement should be done by Lusi in terms of eye expression, "that look of being in love".

It's a whodunnit just the same though romance does take a backseat. Also about a woman entering a profession as the first of her gender in a male dominated industry. Has a lot to do with betrayal of close friends but of the male leads. It's quite interesting how similar the two are. Both female leads are intelligent and strong, charismatic characters that never give in or up on their mission to find the truth.
