Reviews
Almost enough Zhou Ye, but not enough to save this mess
If you've arrived here from Legend of the Female General and wanting to see one of Zhou Ye's earlier roles then this drama contains enough of her character in the earlier episodes of this school corruption drama masquerading as a high school slice of life series depicting the trials of the 4 leads as they navigate their 3rd year of high school leading up to the all encompassing university placement exam. Into this scene enters her heart of gold, undisputed best wing-woman ever, slightly scatter-brained but academically gifted, snack consuming presence. She follows the male lead to the lowest ranked class after he follows the female lead of the show there due to an accident on the day of her class placement exam.Like the plot, Zhou Ye's character exits the show on an unnecessary small side plot of attempting to escape the campus/plot for a bit of fun. Subsequently she vanishes from the show as well as the hearts and minds of the remaining characters until weeks/months later when one person finally remembers she's been absent for multiple episodes. Ultimately she resurfaces, rejoins the school classroom, quickly discovers nepotism and departs for supporting character status.
Fortunately she may or may not have ended up at her university of choice with her once-seen, intermittently mentioned boyfriend/true love. We may never know as her character simply vanishes into the ether in the middle of the last episode never to be seen, heard from or mentioned again. As a plot advancement device, she does her duty diligently and obediently hangs up the phone as a final heroic act of the best wing-woman ever.
NB: There are actually 26 episodes, you can find the 26th at various locations. It does tie up a few loose ends with the 2nd couple but leaves the overall state of the characters unchanged otherwise.
