good point of view....watch it with open mind and clear concept on such situation...

kudos to writer it may be against my wish as I watch the in the dramaland for the ending but I do agree if it's base on real life.
especially with todays circumstances and influences. I agree with the ending 80% of this situation will really end up like the writers opinion the rest of the 20% is divided into happy ending and life move in with bitterness.
I do love the actors and the chemistry is awesome.....
I waited for nth time for this to watch....I was hesitant at first but throw away the hesitancy and watch it with clear and open mind.
by the way does this show reflect much on working environment in their country....if it is...its freaking hard to survive in the real word.
thumbs up and cheers to everyday working life..

Good story but bad ending.

I really like the story up to the 39th episode.
I like how they revealed all the law cases and how everyone grow. I really like the chemistry between Yang Hua and Qin Shi, they really depend on each other.
But I really don't like how the ending goes. Like why and how Qin Shi suddenly hugging Yang Hua and accept him without questioning where have he been and what did he do those 7 months. I don't get the closure to why they reconcile.
On the other hand, Yang Hua seemed childish when he heard the convo between Qin Shi and Tao Junhui (when Tao Junhui got drunk). Can't he asked and confront Qin Shi about either she love him or not and did the marriage just a burden for her?
Well I know that somehow they'll get a happy ending. But isn't the ending seemed rushed? Or is it just me?
For me, this drama could be a better drama if the ending didn't rushed and we get the closure that we need.
It's really a good drama but with a bad ending or I could say a rushed ending. But if you like the drama that ML is younger that FL, you'll like this drama. But don't make such expectation.
Do I wanna rewatch it? Well I don't think so.

An Intellectually Charged Noona Romance Set Against the backdrop of business Law

Let’s just put this out there right now: this review is entirely subjective, written from the perspective of a millennial who watches dramas with too many snacks and way too much emotional investment.

I'm unashamedly into noona romances. Older woman, younger man? Say less. As long as we’re within legal parameters, I don’t blink twice. Thankfully, this drama didn’t make age a huge plot device or hang a neon sign over it. They handled it with maturity and subtlety, and I appreciated that.

Now let’s talk Qin Shi, our female lead, played by Yang Mi. Bless the casting gods. I love a woman who walks into a boardroom in a designer blazer and shuts it down without raising her voice. Not only did she come with beauty and brains, but she brought spine, sharp wit, and a wardrobe so stunning I had to pause the screen more than once. In a world where glass ceilings are stacked higher than Jenga blocks in a windstorm, she was playing chess while everyone else barely knew the rules.

Enter Yang Hua, played by Xu Kai, our genius recluse with a sprinkle of OCD, emotionally reserved but deeply thoughtful. This man is chilling at his parents’ place, living off a monthly allowance that wouldn’t even cover a Shanghai cocktail. He has no idea that for two whole years, he’s been legally “married” in some lawyer’s framed photo. The reveal? At a party. A blind date for him, a networking hustle for her. From there, it’s signature contracts, accidental cohabitation, and a whole lot of dry, intellectual banter that could put rom-coms to shame.

And oh, the banter. That’s what hooked me. They communicated like two people who’d known each other in a past life, constantly bickering but always listening. They were truly yin and yang—without ever needing to spell it out. She would came home frustrated, kicks off her shoes, and he—quietly and without complaint—would pick them up, make dinner, and fill a foot bath. That’s what made him the “perfect” husband. But of course, perfection has layers, and theirs was complicated.

I will not go off about the production, OST, or lighting—because they were all excellent. Let’s just give a slow clap to whoever designed the sets and wardrobe. The fashion? Flawless. The vibe? Peak modern Shanghai with a nostalgic brush of 1920s glamour. The whole visual package was polished, luxurious, and stunning without being overdone.

What you will like:
The intelligent dialogue and emotional depth.A female lead who doesn’t crumble under pressure.A male lead who supports without overshadowing. The chemistry. It was adult, nuanced, and grew organically.

What you will not like:
Now, If you check the comments and you see people yelling about episodes 35 to 40—Don't worry, watch the show and make your own POV. A whole show can't be dismissed based on that stretch.

Final Thoughts:
This drama isn’t for the fast-forwarding crowd or those who want instant gratification. It’s for viewers who enjoy slow-burn character growth, quiet acts of love, and navigating the complexities of ambition, family pressure, and romance in the professional world. She and Her Perfect Husband was stylish, smart, and surprisingly sincere. Not flawless, but definitely worth the watch.

I loved the drama. Loved the lead chemistry even though Yang Mi is 9 years older than Xu Kai, but Yang Mi looked good and well kept; Xu Kai as always, looked handsome. The leads acted very well in their roles. I liked the script with humor across the entire drama. Yang Hua with his buddy who most of the times got YH in trouble because of his silliness plans :D About the only thing I didn't like is the screen time. Yang Mi had probably 70% of the screen time vs. Xu Kai's getting like 30% or less. Overall, it was a light hearted with some romance drama. It was really entertaining and I plan to rewatch it.

Save your time by not watching this!

With this line of actors, I hoped the drama will accomplish something amazing but its another dud or farce to cash in on the feminist wave.

If you want to enjoy this drama keep your expectation very low. The cast tries their best to portray them as lovers but it is more or less a bro-sis or a mom-stepson vibe. If I had a opportunity of knowing what kind of drama this is, I will definitely avoid wasting my time.

The FL is a top tier actress but this series stains that. ML is not bad but not good either. Casting and direction-wise this series got 0/10.

When you have high hopes of something its definitely gonna disappoint you

Hello guy, this is my honest review about this drama

So our main character are QS and YH but no in the last 10-15 episodes they wee the side couple for some reason.
But no our main couple were busy with the other 2 ML & FLs drama more

You know I had waited for this drama for like more than 7 months cause both of the main leads are my favourite actors but this Dra,a really disappointed in such way that after just reading the comments I went furious like they only give 5 mins for the mains to f**king know that they love each other.
It was roller coaster on which I would never like to seat it was too terrible .
I used to wait everyday for new episodes and this is what happened
The ACTING is just amazing YH all cute and attentive and QS all authoritative and supportive but then what the Writers messed it up

I am really sad that this drama was a FAIL.

*-*

Good watch.

The reason why i watched this drama is the ML, i was waiting for a long time for this modern drama of xu kai, and i kinda liked it.
Some may say the plot wasnt up to the mark, but what i have to share is that:
I really did enjoy watching this drama. As opposite to the trailer, this drama presents a lot of office politics and stuff, (which in my opinion hasnt been clearly portrayed in the trailer).
If you are bingewatching, good for you, coz the way every episode ends on clifhangers,oh man! I had a hardtime waiting.
Definitely toward the end of the show , things could have been better. Not a fan of last minute reconcilations so...truthfully speaking ...it hurts when such lovely couples get separated.
All those lovey-dovey things in the trailer....goes by without much focus in the actual drama , they mostly talk work almost all the time.
But i did have a good share of laugh and giggles , and i would totally agree to that.
The way the office politics is portrayed seems so real and i specially love the dynamic relationship Qin Shi has with her colleague Li Dai, i mean i just find it amazing, how they tease and taunt each other but stand united when need be.

I love the character of Yang Hua, he's awesome. 1000x thumbs up (those who have watched the drama will understand ;)
Some people have raised the issue that ...he should've been more persistent and shouldnt have let go Qin Shi so easily, but i beg to differ.
Like he himself mentioned "he didnt wanted to be an excuse". All he wanted to hear from Qin Shi was her confession. Anyway
Qin Shi is a strong independent woman. We all know ..
What i didnt like was the parallel story of mei mei, i mean , i find the character of mei mei in exact contrast to that of qin shi(both strong independent working women but totally different ideologies in marriage matters). That is to say one is exact opposite to the other, where one is afraid of taking risks, and the other is constantly taking risks (i cant believe how could she put up with qin wen yu for so long . She should have divorced him the 1st time she caught him cheating, why tolerate?)
How qin shi was so apprehensive about her own marriage is totally understandable, she grew up in a family with so many relationship issues, its normal for a person to become the way she was.

The climax disappoints me because, the whole purpose of divorce was sidelined, by their 5 minute rushed up reconcilation in the end. Matter-of-factly, qin shi never actually confessed her love to yanghua. I think in this...writers should have done something. I mean there were so many ways, to move toward a more satisfying ending , but sadly they didnt give it much thought , or maybe there was more of it . A lot of people have said that, they had to cut a lot of scenes, to make it fit in the 40 E thing... maybe there is more.....i really really hope it gets out eventually(if there is)......it just feels a bit iffy.
I mean there are scenes that abruptly end, for example , the night yang hua was playing video games in qin shi's room. He said he wanted to ask something , which we never got to hear, and then we find him playing videogames after a while .
There are a lot of similar instances. Also the ending scene . All they do is hug and then BAM!!!! Problem solved , they reconcile, without qin shi ever confessing her love , so ultimately, it was Yang Hua , who came backmto qin shi AGAIN!!.

Like I mentioned before, i feel that the teaser was totally inappropriate, wrt the content of drama. Its like they combined all the lovey-dovey scenes into a trailer, just like that. It hardly had enough office related stuff, which i found misguiding . From the initial teaser, it appeared to be more on the romantic side, given the title as well. I believe this is why a lot of people are discontent with it .

But in my opinion :
I feel that the story was really good as far as the story progression is concerned . It kept me hooked up. Obviously the divorce in E36 was heartbreaking, it was necessary though. Think with the perspective of real life for once.... what yang hua did was something anyone would do. It was necessary. And No! He isnt rude with FL. After getting to know about Qin Shi's true feelings though li dai, Yang hua was constantly present on screen expressing his love for qin shi.
But but but ..... its just the ending that i didnt like.
Firstly, we never hear Qin Shi confessing her love to yanghua, which is really sad.
Secondly, their reconcilation was delayed to the last 5 minutes.
Thirdly, i feel there should have been more of communication between the leads , toward resolving their differences, near the end .
And lastly , THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE a TIME LAPSE OF 1 YEAR OR SO, TO SHOW Qin Shi and YANG HUA HAPPILY MARRIED , WITH YANG HUA WORKING , you know like , THEIR LIFE AFTER REAL MARRIAGE, and YANGHUA'S CAREER FINALLY TAKING OFF FOR GOOD. Stuff like that.
I think that could have been a better ending.

Another thing, i didn't like is the time frame of the drama .

2 years is too less to become what qin shi has become in cheng and hui
And 7 years relationship with tao junhui is just too much.
In my opinion, they should've made it more like 5years relationship with tao junhui & atleast 4 to 5 year history of working at the firm.
And near they end ...there's a time gap of 7 months .... i believe its too much. It should be like 3 months (that should suffice).

There were sad, happy, exciting , competitive, relaxing , soothing....and many more moments in this drama . I wouldn't say it was the best ive ever watched , coz truthfully speaking, i was expecting better from this drama. It wasn't that
spectacular, i was hoping it'd be. But i relly liked it , wish we had more Qin shi and Yang Hua screen time but...on end note ..i liked it.
You know what..... I'll give it a thumbs up

Disappointing

Yang Mai looked like ,she is going to attend party all the time.Like seriously , who dress up like that for office. Her body language was irritating . Xu Kai was good.Drama could have been better;
Yang Mai was so so good in Ten Miles of Peach Blossom.I expected something similar, but here it felt like she delivered the dialogue and finish the scene. No room for improvement.
I dropped it after 10 episode.Lost interest after seeing her acting.
Felt like she was doing a favor by delivering dialogues.

over half way thru

At this point, I have to write this. If you are a person who likes repeated montages; sappy annoying snippets of a song, and the allowing people to run unchecked- this is for you.

I hate when the same montages are repeated again and again, and the overuse of them period. I don't need one every show. At this point, it's getting to be a bit of both, Why have one every time the FL or ML thinks about the other, whether it's to kiss them or in general do I need the repeat of a montage? But this, I can deal with by fast forwarding; there isn't and words.

What I'm hating is the same song verses played over and over. The English part along with the music is reminiscent of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" . The English is 'come away with me' or something like that, Trying not to think of it to hard- its gives me a headache and gritting my teeth. That one line is in English, the rest in Chinese. But when you read the verses, it's not that great of a song. It seems to be played at least 3 times every episode , I can't fast forward thru that, there's dialogue.

Up to now, I thought the leads had good chemistry and I was rooting for them. But I'm tiring of the 'let's keep our distance cause of the contract' and/or shyness. The FL has lived with a man before, plus she had a box of condoms in her nightstand- she knows about sex. The ML, sometime I'm not sure if he does.

And the male lead. I love the actor Xu Kai, but not so much as this character right now. During the first episode when his mom is yelling at him about blind dates- I wondered if he had Asperger's. After watching the last couple of shows (I'm at 25 now ), I think he does. I really thought when they introduced the 2ML and his fiancée, the leads would change partners later on. Especially when the lie comes out and gets complicated.

I'm growing tired of the continuing 'main drama' story about the embezzlement and money laundering, etc. It's gotten old and with the other plots going on, I lose track of that story line plot,

I read some of the reviews and they say the last 4, or so, shows suck. Right now these points, plus the standard jealous new girlfriend of former lover trope is really petty and the former lover is so disconnected from what she's doing right in front of him. When the FL does something wrong, he's on it in a hot second; current fiancée, he's oblivious. Annoying. Oh and so is the FL 2nd brother and cheating on his wife. She needs to kick him to the curb and move on. Her in-laws should use her as his replacement in the family.

I'm going to finish this, but I really don't have any hopes that it will get any better than this or have any highlights I can root for.
Honestly, I think it didn't need 40 episodes, or rework the story so you have one or two plots going and concluding as they progress through the relationship.

Waste of Time and Talent

I don't understand the highly rated reviews for this series. The premise of the story was promising - portraying the unfair glass ceiling for women in the professional world dominated by men. The strong FL with the unconditionally supportive partner/spouse. But the pacing and the editing made it extremely boring. There was no real build up to the climax of the series...just really long drawn out, repetitive dialogue. Tons of screen time showcasing the FL's career as a lawyer. A lot of the legal cases were just ridiculous.

While the lead actors did a decent job acting, as the leading couple they had zero chemistry. Yang Mi usually does pretty good, this is the first time I've seen her in a modern drama. She came across as self-absorbed for her own personal gains, and he came across as a wimpy doormat/servant. This is the first time I saw the ML actor in a series, and it does not make me want to see any of his other shows.

40 episodes was way to long, what a waste of time. I sat thru it, skipping a lot of episodes just to see if the ending justifies enduring the time spent. Not at all. No major sense of happiness or satisfaction with the ending. I was just annoyed for wasting my time.

Great Romance between Independent Woman and Cynical Man Ruined in Last Episodes

If I reviewed the first 35 episodes it'd be 9/10 or even 10/10, so I'll focus on the first part to keep the balance.

Qin Shi is an independent woman and a brilliant lawyer in her mid 30s, working for one of the best lawyer offices in the country.

Yang Hua is a smart, cynical, unemployed man of 28. I saw in the comments that some people thought he suffered from social anxiety. He didn't. We are shown on many occasions that he didn't really have a problem interacting with others. At times he was even more at ease than his outspoken wife i.e. while meeting foreign investors for the first time. He has no problem with irony and reading between the lines. He can also express himself very clearly whenever he wishes. He also says himself that he doesn't have a problem with crowds. But he simply doesn't want to meet others. He thought that meeting people was a waste of time, which is typical for cynics. Cynicism comes from disappointment in humanity, and that's what happened to Yang Hua. Personally, I loved the character because we usually get the shy boys or arrogant CEOs. A cynic in a drama is a gem!

The two very different people enter a fake marriage, but at the same time decide to create a wonderful romantic relationship. And that's what really makes the first 35 episodes so good. They are honest towards each other, straightforward, mutually supportive, looking for common solutions, and very very loyal. It's really rare to see such a couple in a drama.

On top of that they are in awe with each other's values. Yang Hua finds his wife arguing a point extremely sexy, and Qin Shi feels grateful for her husband's views on equality.

Now, do you know this feeling when you are anxious watching a drama, but not because you're afraid the Leads won't end up together, only because you see that, in order to write some angst, the authors ruin a character so much that they might not be able to redeem him?

That's what happened in this drama. The honest and straightforward Yang Hua suddenly begins to lie and play tricks to make the FL jealous. And the effect was so bad I rather feared than wished for a happy ending. And I'm really a forgiving person when it comes to all the usual plot bunnies in dramas as long as all the issues with an ex etc. can be written off as a misunderstanding. Here however, the ML creates the misunderstandings on purpose and later pretends the FL just misunderstood. It really is that bad!

So by all means: watch 35 episodes, and then skip to the last 10 minutes of the 40th episode. The ending is nice and sweet only if you haven't seen what happened in the meantime!

Perfect balance of office and romance genre

i love office related stuff in drama because it provides a realistic environment around the drama and both our leads has a great chemistry ... in drama they have a age gap of 6 years but it has never become a hurdle in their relationship ... both of them represents a mature relationship who discussed and tries to resolve every problem together ...

this drama is on Netflix before , also on amazon prime , even IQIYI has buy their airing rights which represent that MDL ratings are worse because this drama is very popular overseas ... on Youtube ep 1 got 2.5 million views in just one year which is a good a milestone ...

Supporting characters are all very well written and some are quite annoying which is also normal in our daily life because it is not possible that everyone around is you a good person ...
Li dai is my fav character from supporting cast , she is independent , beautiful , successful and knows who to support ...

OST s of this drama are quite good which provides a sexual tension with the scenes ...

i will definitely rewatch it again in future ... i am glad i tried it
