One of the best portrayal of modern bullying

This movie is heartfelt and a bit disturbing in its nature. It expressed another side or form of bullying nowadays wherein you don't really have to hurt someone physically to harm them.

To be honest the storyline is too cliché for a movie showing bullying but what I really anticipated the most is how will the main characters fought it back. Will they be using vengeance towards the perpetrator or will they resolve things on a peaceful manner? It's for you to find out. (Not a spoiler but the ending is pretty decent.) There were some parts of the movies that really doesn't makes sense for me and felt unnecessary specially the background of this transfer student who is one of the main leads on this movie.

The casts are completely new to me as I am not that into Taiwanese/Chinese movies and drama but I must say they have played their roles real good and they really set the vibes and atmosphere of high school students with their puberty attitude.

Overall, this is a good movie to spend time on. It wasn't the best of it's kind but it was really worth my time. I actually kinda wanted to remind myself about this movie from time to time.

Review of "Girls Revenge"

- Tbh, the story was quite the cliche revenge story but it was also interesting enough to make me stay through an hour and almost 30 mins. In my opinion the only thing that didn't make sense was the FLs brief brush of love with that one dude. Sure it was cute and all but it rlly wasn't relevant to the story at all and in the end it didn't even go anywhere.
- This cast is completly new to me but they gave a quite nice performance. They were able to give off that puberty feeling. But at times it did look a bit akward.
- The music kinda faded into the background but the 2 times it stood out to me was when the party was takinf place and the ending song regarding their friendship.
- Overall it was nice and would definitly watch again just to kill time

A different bully redemption arc

I liked this. It was an average film about bully culture in a high school setting. It's fairly cliche but I liked what was different about this story was the bully redemption arc. It's done well here and not in the typical linear way. People make mistakes. Anyone can fall victim to peer pressure and do things they never thought they would do. I am not justifying any bullying behavior but if you can see the wrong that you have done and apologize than I can accept that. The young cast is really good too. Especially, Wang Yu Ping playing the FL Yun Heng.

I iked that the comeuppance was done the way I had hoped. I mean, I actually, at first was like an eye for an eye. The main bully was terrible and had no remorse for her actions but then they gave her the best comeuppance I have seen in a long while. Not everyone is going to be satisfied with this film, especially regarding the rape situation.

Nothing new BUT WELL EXECUTED

Girl's Revenge tells the story of Yun-Heng who travels to a new school and becomes friends with Ren Li-Chia and her other (2) friends.

Of course there is an undercover mean girl per usual for movies of this premise. Now, the premise, or should I just say plot. It is nothing new, however, it was portrayed both accurately and beautifully, nothing too fancy. It covers bullying, social media and its role in bullying, friendship, self reflection, sexual assault, and touches on gayness a bit. There is also a little romance subplot that pretty much goes nowhere when it could have, but the movie did fine without so I won't take too much points off. The use of songs are as good as it get with a movie that has recycled the bullying and assault plot. The acting isn't the greatest as the crying and interactions were a bit awkward, but it adds to the growing pains people of their age feels and captures that high school feeling well

Overall for me, it was nothing special so I give it a 7, but this is not to say it wasn't enjoyable, just your all around GOOD movie. It may bore some, but in the end, I have to recommend.

A good movie if you're interested in the topics it explores

I see some critisicm about this movie, particularly regarding how the actual rapist got off without any punishment or they were focus on, Wang Ke-Chien, who set it up. However, I think this is a good aspect to the movie.

What I mean by that is, it's horribly realistic which is what I think is good (and it's heartbreaking and infuriating). Obviously, I'd love for the perp to be punished, but drunk rape cases are incredibly difficult to prosecute. In addition, I believe it is realistic for Wang Ke-Chien to have her life ruined while the man gets out free. They both arguably did horrible things, but because of society and misogyny, she'll get blamed for all of it and her life will be ruined, while the systems protect men, even when men commit horrible acts. It reminds me of Law and Order SVU season 2 episode 10, where even in the court room, the girls who orchestrated a rape by drugging the victim were punished while the rapists walked free.

With that being said, my main problems with the movie is the shallowness of the characters and their relationships. I think the movie needed more time to properly flesh out the characters and develop relationships.

My biggest problem though is Wu Yun-Heng. I would have liked to either see her face the consequences of her past actions (by losing Ren Li-Chia as a friend) or see her show genuine remorse and apologize for the bullying she partook in at her old school. Because how is she any different from Wang Ke-Chien, and why does she deserve friendship with Ren Li-Chia in the end after what she's done? Maybe the movie is telling us that people who do bad things, really don't face consequenses. Also, why in the world would Wang Ke-Chien want her boyfriend to take advantage of another girl? That is bizarre to me.

Either way, I believe this is a quick and good movie to watch if you're interested in any of the topics it explores.

Polished movie- good watch!

I really liked this movie. It has a strong moral, interesting characters, a good plot and a good representation of manipulation, school bullying, the highschool environment and social hierarchy, and exclusion. It represents the hypocritical and toxic natures of the school environment through a clean plot and good acting, with good filming and relevant music. So, if you’re looking for my green light to watch it- do! It’s a very clean and consistent movie- a rarity nowadays tbh. It’s a good watch and i’d probably watch it again. Plot twist also twists your brain a bit. A good watch! So, i give you the green light to watch this if your sitting on the fence about it.
