Decent story ruined by a creepy SML
This would be a nice drama if SML was a bit different. He is incredibly annoying and really needs a therapist. Only a woman with severe SML syndrome might like that creep.Even though ML did some potentially questionable things, I never felt bad because of any of them, but even a simple sentence from SML made me angry more than once.
ML never forcibly kissed FL, as some people wrote in comments and reviews. She was just surprised and confused, but she didn’t t even try to reject the kiss; she even kissed him back. No means no, but this was something else.
The COVID pandemic part was nicely written.
You might like this drama very much if you have a good stomach that can stand the SML. Unfortunately, I can't. Rewatch value is absolute zero for me only because of him.

Fluffy coming-of-age romcom or vehicle for gratuitous male seminudity? You decide
I saw the trailer and expected this series to be superficial and annoying, but planned to watch a couple episodes and skip to the end. However, I ended up sticking with it (but skipping the excess scenes with the suffocating SML) because it easily moved along. Other than a lot of typical cliches and usual annoyances, this fluffy series was executed pretty well. Actually, the reason I stayed with it is the credit scenes that show the highlights and intrigued me. The leads are really well-cast for their youthful looks. Unfortunately, this was another one of those cases where the FL sems to have zero libido and acts like a dead fish during kissing scenes. That always makes it so hard to believe the romance (e.g. Bai Lu...in so many dramas). The thwarted proposal attempts were maddening, but actually pretty clever. However, I don't think there was any good reason for her to run out on her boyfriend's graduation speech (nevermind the fact that he was going to pop the question) and miss the pomp and circumstance. Most people only graduate college once, and for additional degrees the experience isn't the same. I get that it was written as another opportunity for the mail lead to seem so chivalrous and romantic but it was still frustrating. The supporting couple was pretty solid, what a great proposal set up! It almost made up for the main couple in that episode.
I agree with most other reviewers that the SML was just too much! To be fair, she really should have put the brakes on him a lot harder, because no healthy person would encourage a friend like that. He is the most outrageous character, and in a Chinese romcom that is saying something!!! They tried to redeem him at times, but he was still sad/pathetic. It was actually mean of the write to make him like that. The scene where she tripped at the photo shoot was simultaneously absurd and hilarious. Their reactions made me LOL.
A few random things: Budweiser product placement, but at least it wasn't Rio, lol. And the plugs for The Romance of Tiger and Rose were a bit heavy handed, I guess they were also a sponsor, or same writers, Idk. The wedding props/decorations just looked out of place, but the wedding was a hot mess anyway, so par for the course.
I do think they deserve a special mention for the interesting COVID 19 episodes. It's actually the first time I've seen it brought up in the many Asian dramas I've watched made after 2020.

Not that bad
Overall it was a good drama, it could have been better but there's a couple of things that i didn't like it, it could be said that even disappointed me, first the character of Fang Yuke was completly devoted to Linlin (good), but he didn't received the same kind of love from Linlin, she allowed to other people ( Wen Tao) heavly interfere in their releationship, mean while Fang Yuke just put up with it and try to stay calm, trust her, etc, on the other hand, in the first oportunity that she have, she jump on the idea that Fang Yuke was cheating on her, thats not cool girl, he even put up with two guys chasing her at the same time in order to no make her feel uncofortable and support her carrer, Linlin's character needed more devolopment in the romatic part, her love seens a little shallow compared to Yuke's love and actions for her. In order to have an everlasting love, both in the releationship needs to work to achieve this, not just the manAlso, they try to make the behaviour of the 2ml look kind of cute, but no way, he was out of the line all the time, a total Psycho.

do not watch this this drama if you have second lead syndrome
overall I will rate this drama a four out of five. the story line is good and simple like a simple ay other romance drama. high school love, and one-sided love of male main lead, childhood sweethearts are main tags of this drama . I loved this drama cuz its short and sweet. this drama left me with mixed feelings. second lead was so cool he loved linlin truly but ended in pain but on other side the main leads were complementing each other.the side lead couple were also cute, crazy roommates and fun

Childhood friends to lovers but....
While this drama has a really good male lead and female lead, you don't really get the chemistry from them. The female lead just doesn't look lovey-dovey when she was supposed to be lovey-dovey. There were also a lot of unnecessary men in love with a female lead that just was annoying at best. Also, secondary love story with secondary actors took up way too much time in my book. It resulted and I was rushing through her other two roommates storyline. Like why did we spend practically the whole show obsessed over one roommate who she didn't really have any interaction with? Last but not least this show who had one character who just couldn't get the hint that the girl was not for him. I mean he saw them kissing twice, he blamed male lead for girl getting covid, even at her wedding day cried like a baby, but also when fishing with her dad heard that she was pregnant and still was in love with her like let it Go.Was this review helpful to you?

Weak script and acting
I've tried to watch as a recommendation for When I fly towards you(which I liked). Barely made it into 5 episodes with this one though. The concept is catchy, yet unoriginal, with childhood friends that one has a crush towards the other. And you hope the show would be funny and romantic. But for me, I found the script mediocre at best and the acting less so. There are better series with the same concept out there for you to watch. Was this review helpful to you?

Nothing unexpected but enjoyable enough
A pretty college romance, with some flashbacks to the high school period, well acted and with endearing & well-developed characters. The story does not contain anything unexpected, but the performance of the actors makes this series feel good and very enjoyable.
The realization is quite dynamic (therefore without length).
Some remarks however:
- the part that takes place in France is not very credible for the French public :) :)
* a large apartment in Paris at the foot of the Eiffel Tower for 1000 euros? as if !
* we see the roommates at the time of the presentation, but they disappear completely afterwards.
* Philippe Stark who himself gives design lessons?
* Parisian hospitals that require a tutor to take care of an adult permanently throughout his hospitalization ??? (impossible outside authorized visiting hours except in the mother-child sector). Screenwriters should avoid duplicating the Chinese model in the West...
* Of course, every Chinese tourist who comes to Europe is attacked by bad boys :( :( This is the case in every drama!! What image do Asians have of the West?
* finally, the tennis player (actor not credible on a court, but who has nice abs -which we see very often on screen-) who comes to France for a match (or even a Rolland Garros-style competition) and who need to stay ONE YEAR ????
- The FL is recruited in a design agency but is responsible for communication and clients ??
There are plenty of other flaws, but I won't list them.
In short, you have to be a little indulgent when watching this series, which I still saw to the end thanks to the talent of the actors.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
