Mix of Horror, Comedy, Light and Sweet Romance.
This is one of my Favt Kdramas of all time. I have watched this drama over and over. So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin did such a fabulous job. They had great chemistry. In fact, the entire cast were brilliant. When it comes to horrors, I'm usually jumpy. This has an even amount of horror, comedy, drama, mystery and romance. The stories were great and every episode, something happens to keep you hooked. Some dramas just drag on. This one is a winner for me and I don't get tired of watching it.
This was one of the older dramas, and compared to the more modern dramas, this still beats them. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Just an Okay/Fine show. Nothing more.
I looked forward to this show as it was written by the Hong sisters who also wrote very good kdramas as You are Beautiful and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. But this is nowhere near as good as those shows in my opinion. First of all I didnt think the writing is as good as those shows. Secondly the cast is nowhere near as good as those shows. This show really needed Shin Min-a to star this show as the Ghost whisperer. Now what we have is just an Okay/Fine show. Nothing more.

A light drama to binge watch during quarantine
I decided to rewatch The Master's Sun during quarantine as I had such good memories about it. I remember watching it for the first time in 2013, while the episodes were still airing weekly and I was crazy about it. About watching it for the second time, I am not disappointed and still feel that it is a lovely drama to watch with good music, good actors and, overall, a great storyline.I definitely fell for So Ji Sub and loved his acting (it was also my first time watching a drama of his) ; he can portray a big range of emotions, joy, sadness, jealousy, which was very nice to watch. I loved his character, feeling like watching a little boy in a CEO's body. I had already watched dramas with Gong Hyo Jin, so I had no doubts about her acting skills and she did such a good job performing Tae Gong Shil. Their chemistry is no joke and I loved the whole development of their feelings.
As for the second leads and supporting characters, it was nice that, for once, we did not get the mean and vicious mother in law that would try to meddle with the main couple's relationship. I personnaly loved the character of secretary Kim, always supporting the ML feelings. The plot with Kang Woo and Tae Yi-Ryeong was, for me, not so necessary and did not add so much to the storyline, but they were still nice scenes to watch.
I really enjoyed watching the ghosts' stories and each episode was well rounded and made me cry so much.
I still feel that the whole "shelter/candy" relationship was a bit forced and tiresome as it lasted for such a long time. They could have tried to develop the main couple's relationship without making them use that excuse.
Also, the whole story with Cha Hee Jo, even though it was one of the main elements of the story, was kind of boring, and as I watched it for the second time, I kinda wanted to skip most of it.
Anyway, it was and will remain one of my favs, no matter how many newer dramas come out, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone !

The arrogant typical male lead is never my cup of tea but every story about the ghost and how it resolved, slow burn between the leads and how they both actually opened up and needed each other, the chemistry, the soundtracks were great too.
Honestly, the ghost scene could be pretty horrifying at first but then I'm used to it.
This is the drama that made me continue being a K-Drama fan.
One of my faves from Gong Hyo Jin for sure.

I was hooked from the very first episode and there weren't really any slow points. I think the pacing was good, and even though each episode dealt with it's own ghost story (for the most part), the overall plot continued to move forward smoothly.
I figured out the overarching plot twist about half way through, which I was pretty proud of myself for being right. Haha! Honestly, the plot wasn't particularly obvious, I just thought about it intently and put pieces together to make sense of the plot twist. And don't worry - the plot twist isn't completely crazy or nonsensical, which is also satisfying.
So Ji Sub is really a treat to watch, by the way. I really loved his acting and I really respect how well he can portray such different characters. In Oh My Venus, his character was so different and he really pulled both off so well. AND I liked both characters for different reasons because his acting is just THAT good!
Gong Hyo Jin also deserves recognition because she did such a good job portraying different "people" when she was possessed by ghosts. *Meow* XD
Seo In Guk was also really nice to see again - I saw him in the Reply series and have been craving his acting ever since!
Kim Mi Kyung.......I have such mixed feelings about her character because in all the other dramas I've watched with her, she always played a character that was helping the main characters and giving her advice when she could. While I understand that the aunt was just trying to do what she felt was best for her nephew, it still bugged me that she was such a vicious (NOT evil, just cut-throat) woman in this drama. She portrayed it well, I just didn't like seeing her playing this kind of character.
The ending was wonderful and really REALLY nicely wrapped up. The only thing that bothered me plot-wise, was in the last 2 episodes where the MC's are having some emotional struggles that they need to come to terms with. Which I understood, I just wish that that process was a bit smoother.
Overall, I really enjoyed this drama for it's outstanding cast, pleasurable OST, and well thought-out plot. Don't let the ghost's scare you away!
***Please be mentally prepared before starting this drama, especially to those who are sensitive to serious topics such as child abuse/neglect. There were a couple of scenes that could make viewers emotionally upset.

Must See
Usually I wouldn't watch this kind of horror drama because horror is my least fav genre, but after taking a chance to watch this it wasn't as scary as i thought so that was a good thing. This is the first drama I have watched of So Ji Sub and his acting didn't disappoint that he definitely looked like a teddy bear during some scenes and didn't look like a scary guy but rather someone who would protect his woman and another thing I love was the soundtrack to this drama which was amazing. This drama has now become one of my top 10 on my drama list which is so good! Was this review helpful to you?

I loved the drama. It had a pretty crazy story and some cliche things and scenes. However we can ignore those in favor of the interesting plot and great chemistry between the main leads ( the main lead was freaking great and so was the second male lead) At first the male lead was rough and cold hearted but later he turned into such a romantic. Honestly in these kind of dramas when suddenly the cold , jerk male lead falls in love and turns all cute , I find that a little cringy but it didn't happen in this case. The male lead softened all right but it didn't went out of his character and was soooo romantic. I loved the way how he would never let anyone touch his things except the girl unconsciously. It was damn cute.Another thing I loved was the later segment when the boy had amnesia. Usually I find this particular twist extremely irritating because let's face it, it's not easy to develop amnesia. You don't get it just by a simple hit on the head or a surgery. Besides when you say memory it contains so many elements visual input, touch, smell, hearing , our feelings , muscle memory, habits etc. That's why it's not so easy to erase so many things which is obviously ignored in the dramas. HOWEVER IT WASN'T IM THIS ONE. I loved how he kept feeling a huge part was missing. He became confused when by habit he went to her office. He couldn't remember a single thing but still he found her by his instincts. Even when he saw that pendent on another girl he became confused. He felt he knew the pendent but felt uneasy about the person. He even saw her face first when waking up still he didn't confused her with the female lead ( THANK GOD) He kept trying to tie the loose ends.
About side characters , I really loved the second lead, his girlfriend and the main lead's uncle.
The second lead was freaking handsome and I loved how he slowly fell for her. The most touching thing was he even conquered his fear just to be with her. He was so afraid of death. He hated even mentioning that. However for the female lead he started to believe in ghosts , helped her ( tried to cheer up a ghost 😂) , even secretly went to cemetery at night to protect her (awwww he is too good😭) .
The second lead' s girlfriend was also good. I loved how she didn't turn into a negetive character. She was jealous but she was not hateful. She taunted the main girl but when needed also helped her. It was good to see her happy at the end.
The aunt and uncle were also pretty good. At first I thought it would a typical case where the relatives will try to sabotage the whole thing. However it turned out the aunt really loved her nephew so was just trying to protect him. She never did any outrageous thing though. Most hilarious was the uncle. He reminded me of our typical close relatives who stir up trouble and reports about us to our parents however when needed supports and tries to help us😂. It was great.

I think the casting for his drama fit perfectly and there is so much cuteness at the final episodes that you better be prepared for all that.
Highly recommend this drama please do watch!

Thrilling and fun to watch
This is a 2013 paranormal romance thriller written by the Hong Sisters. It has 17,60 minute, episodes. As a rich but emotionally cold chaebol, Joo Joong-won (So Ji-sub) seems to have it all. He doesn’t realize what is missing until his fate takes a turn and he encounters Tae Gong-shil (Gong Hyo-jin), who unwillingly sees ghosts. For some reason, quite by accident, Ging-shil discovers that when she touches Joong-won her nightmarish encounters with ghosts goes away. So she strikes up a bargain to help Joong-won recover a lost fortune in exchange for being allowed closely by his side.
Spoiler alert ** I love the character Gong-shil. It would be absolutely horrifying to see the things she does and have no idea how to make it stop. It is a bit reminiscent of the American movie “The Sixth Sense”. Like that movie she sees dead people and if she solves a problem they can go on. The thing is she does not have the courage to face them until she discovers her magic bullet which is Jon-won whenever she is around him the ghosts are at bay. At first he wants nothing to do with this odd girl but as he begins to understand more about her he starts to care and genuinely wNt to help. Two different people who compliment each other. It was exciting and entertaining and is one of my favorite.

"The Master's Sun" is a romantic comedy about a strange woman named Gong Shil who has the ability to see ghosts and Joong Won, a cold hearted hotel owner. When she is with Joong Won, Gong Shil cannot see ghosts, so she basically becomes his stalker, to stay by his side and have a calmer and more comfortable life.Gong Shil starts working at his hotel, but the place is full of ghosts and everyone wants her help. At first she tries to ignore it, but Gong Shil realizes that these people need to resolve their grudges in order to move on. Joong Won is only letting Gong Shil stay by his side because he wants to find out what happened to his first love, who is dead, but over time he falls in love with Gong Shil and as his nickname for her, she becomes his sun.
This is one of my favorite dramas, Gong Hyo Jin is for me the best actress in South Korea, every project she does is amazing and this one is no different. The romance is a bit weak, but that's not because of a lack of chemistry, it was made with a purpose, it's supposed to be light, but on the other hand, the humor is fantastic, you basically laugh throughout the entire drama.

This one surprised me, in a good way
I love this show!! So Ji Sub could read the phone book and I would love it. Seo In Guk, pretty much the same thing. I love them both. Gong Hyo Jin was excellent - she was pretty over the top in the first few episodes and then kind of settled into her character. I've watched this multiple times and enjoyed it each time.I really liked the paranormal aspects of the show. Normally, that might not be something that I'm drawn to, but I could really feel the FL's angst/fear/exhaustion of having a "gift" that she considered a curse. Her loneliness was another thing that was almost palpable - to be forced to keep yourself apart from everyone was so sad, and that emotion was demonstrated so well.
There was a lot of humor in this show as well. When you've got two characters that don't exactly know what to do with each other, that could go in either direction. Thankfully, the writers knew what to do with the characters and I enjoyed the ride.
