The incorporation of supernatural elements also is interesting and adds an exciting twist to the traditional romantic drama genre. Overall, it's a stand out series and a must-watch for anyone looking for a refreshing and engaging series that will evoke a range of emotions.

supernatural justice!
What if, instead of 3 ghosts at Christmas, multiple ghosts over months harrassed a rich guy in the most annoying way to get him to pay his employees and make real social change? romance is whatever and the acting is great, but I love how they used ghosts and a low income woman to force a rich, spoiled, (admittedly traumatized) guy to see how he really has the resources to effect change that makes society better. the only reason it’s not 10 stars is the way they forced the romance at the end.Was this review helpful to you?
Tae Gong Shil is such an awesome female lead :3 The OST was also really good, there are some good sad/dramatic piano pieces without words in them that make every scene intense, and the song "Touch Love" is still stuck in my head.
"would rewatch again?" haha you mean can i stop rewatching this because it is so good

funny drama
I watched The Master’s Sun on television in my country with dubbing, and it became a memorable experience. The drama is very entertaining because it tells the story of a woman who can see ghosts, creating funny, scary, and emotional moments. The mix of comedy, horror, and romance feels fresh and unique. The ghost stories are touching, and the strong chemistry between the leads slowly grows into genuine love, making the drama warm and unforgettable. It remains one of my favorite dramas to this day.Was this review helpful to you?

Tsundere /Mr. Darcy archetype male lead & heavy Second Lead Syndrome
simply:1) male lead is written too cold
2) female lead actress is annoying as is her character
3) 2nd male lead- the only reason you are watching this & he is the one you want to "win"
4)2nd female lead character is a selfish shrew & not romance material
5) they throw in a time skip at the end that actually fixes nothing but proves that the male lead is superior to the female lead in how he acts.
6) yes, happy endings all around, but the only character you care about gets stuck with the worst partner, & with the time skip (& everything that has to do with it- it felt like a very damp unmomentous ending
The long explanation:
The female lead is one of my least favorite actresses. Her character here is unappealing- she's super needy in a cringingly whiney way . Then at the end she's suddenly cold & independent which doesn't match what we're supposed to believe about her. Honestly, neither lead sells the romance & you find yourself crushing hard on the second male lead (who is being chased by a harpy of a woman that you wouldn't wish on any man). SO, there is no satisfying romance in this drama, though there are happy endings for all 4 major characters as well as some side characters, but really, the romances were lacking all around. The ghosts in the first half are scarier than the ones in the second half. The male lead & the second male lead really are endearing. Sadly the female characters are not.
i liked how the male leads had character evolvement .
I think I probably rated this higher than it deserves (in light of how many things I didn't like about it!) though there were some very cute tropes and some lovely touching moments. As I finished it I felt like I would watch it again, but I probably won't when I could just rewatch something I like better
Music: on song plays way too often

Another FRUSTRATING K-Drama
It has it's moments but all of them are in sub-plots because the main plot is absolute ASS. I hate you, I love you, I hate you, I love you. Dog these people are 30 years old. GET OVER YOURSELVES. Also the romance was forced as hell. Kang Woo was literally the only likeable character. AT ALL. I felt more for the random ghost sitting on the mall chair than any of the main leads. I seriously cannot stand a story like this that could have been good if they made it 12 episodes and had more chemistry between the leads.my take? there's worse out there, but that doesn't make this good. it's just not compelling, mostly because of bad chemistry (writing) and awful pacing (as usual). By the last 5 episodes i literally DID NOT CARE. about anything, really. if your readers or viewers are basically begging you to get on with it and end it you have a BAD STORY.

Gong Hyo Jin is creepier than the ghosts to start off with, and the CEO constantly saves her even though he wants nothing to do with her. Do not watch just after The Greatest Love -- the pairing only superficially resembles those fabulous characters.
The script and soundtrack are more powerful than Gong Hyo Jin's admitted acting skill and the charm of Jo Si Seob (he went onto success as a romantic lead after this), and the revelations of their slow and prickly romance are fueled by another of those complicated structures of allusion and jokes which the HS can produce, and which are frustrating to guess at from the subtitles. A total guess on my part, but most of the subtitles appear to be so literal (i.e.close to the meanings of individual words in Korean) that I think the translators decided to try to give a taste of the verbal humor and play that way, throwing caution and pronouns to the winds.
Physical touch/sexual attraction and the psychic invisible phenomena are the concepts which are constantly played with (the two words are"sound-alikes" in Korean, hehe). The pair discusses invisibility as part of selfishness -- she was so needy she couldn't "see" him...he is stuck in a mirroring past experience and couldnt see her real self. The title Masters Sun and her name Tae (means sun) refer to another set of metaphors -- she is a shining light (sun) to ghosts in their world, so they flock to her like moths, but in the outer world she fears she is a darker light.
The attraction of total opposites is compared to a children's fable or book about a wolf and a goat. It sounds like when in Aesop the lamb tries to escape through fancy talk but the wolf cuts in with realpolitick and eats her/him, enough so that the viewer is quite worried about how it will all end. There is a reference to a "Candy" -- The CEO calls Seo inguk charater "Candy Kang" with great relish -- but is the bodyguard really he is a gender-reversed Cinderella character?
Anyway, the HS always create instantly recognizable characters, and all the supporting actors in Masters Sun were genius. The romantic pair in each show always have over-determined motivations, allowing for lots of audience interpretation. The HS scripts seem to always catch the top of the wave generically, and each show is distinct from all the others. This was the last of the annual productions they had kept up with since 2005, and thereafter the shows come every other year more or less. 2015, '17/18, '22 and soon '25/26. Cant wait.

One of my most favorite kdramas ever, So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin are the best duo ever
and my OTP <3 I recommend this drama to everyone even though there are some scary moments
but it is definitely worth it. The story line and the entire cast and even the Ost is amazing.
I cried my eyes out so much in this drama to the point I never wanted it to end. The plot line
is just mind blowing and amazing.
Nothing beats this drama in this category in my opinion ^^

Late Discovered Gem From 2013
1) Keep in mind this is from 2013. Don't hold tropes you've seen before against. This one probably came before.2) Supernatural X Cinderella ---- Business Proposal with strong supernatural dimension. If you liked Oh My Ghost, Hotel del Luna, or Bring it on, Ghost there's a good chance you'll like this one.
3) I was hooked from the first episode and binged the rest.
4) This was my first time seeing Gong Kyo Jin playing Tae Gong Shil aka the Big Sun and I was very impressed. She exudes a very attractive down to earth girl next door charisma that's hard not to like.
