Opinions and Thoughs about Drama
I'm not sure if it may contain spoliers or not since I need to mention parts of the plot so people understand my thoughts and opinions about it.Anyway! The main couple storyline is an intersting one per se. It has it's typical friends to lovers trope with the whole "I only like him" trope too. However, with that aside, it is really cute and funny and thankfully their communication skllls when they are a couple are great!! It also showcases the idea of showing affection in public as a gay couple and how they deal with that. Overall, this couple is good! I give them 8/10
The second couple is not great in my books. I feel like they should have showed a better view on how this "couple" could've handled the situation that occurred between them in the beginning . It wasn't really healthy. My wish for them was forgiveness, learning, and understanding that what happpened between them was not right. My other wish for them was to find their own love with other people as well as the young step-brother getting the help he needed. While I was not happy but okay with, the coming out to the parents scenes was interesting and good to watch, it showcases the fear and the unknown when people want to come out to the parents. Overall, I give them a 5/10
SPOLIERS FOR SURE:
I would re-watch the show again for the main couple and the appearances of the MODC cast/characters. I love how they added them in the end and showing that there are happy endings for everyone no matter who they love! I also believe that this drama gave the alternative ending of the main couple from MODC; and even though they don't show up in the show, they mention that one of the main is abraod, indicating that it's a reference to the Alaska scene from the Japanese BL drama, Life: Senjou no Bokura. This might be for me though...giving myself that alternative ending than the actual MODC ending lol.

I am only assessing the part of Li Cheng and Mu Ren
I've watched this drama five times already. Each time I omitted the topic of the second couple, which was problematic for me. Stepbrother and rape ?! No thanks. On the other hand TengTeng and Li Cheng are one of my favorite couples, I love them. Their characters complement each other, they make a really lovely couple. I'll rewatch again and again for them many more times.♥️ Of course apart from that awful second pair lol I pretend they're just brothers in the canon. I am a bit sad because I know that this couple destroyed the reputation of this drama :( I recommend you to do as I do and watch only the story of Li Cheng and Mu Ren.Was this review helpful to you?
H3:MODC gang is a plus-point
This is my 5th HIStory series and this is my first time that I haven't received any emotional impact from its storyline. The length of this series is too long. LiCheng-Muren's relationship development is the main stronghold. The rest of the plots is mid and decent.Bringing the cute couple (BoXiang-ZhiGang) in HIStory3: Make Our Days Count plus the cool gang is a very good decision. This is an interesting side plot that brought the continuation of the couple's happy and romantic relationship. I haven't also realized that one of the H3:MODC gang is the main lead in Plus & Minus. Thanks to H4:CTY for shaking my forgetful brain. The only problem is it outshined the main leads that were supposed the highlight of the ending.
Overall, this is a decent series. Without H3:MODC, this will just be an average BL series. You might hate it if you watch this without watching H3:MODC first.

I've rewatched so many times!
I've lost count how many times I've rewatched this show, mainly for "Teng Teng x Li Cheng". It gets FUNNIER each time I rewatch. I don't even know that this is possible. They are my go=to couple when I need to recharge after running out of what to watch or tired of other BL.Their chemistry both on and off screen is spot on!
I love how funny and close they are as friend, and how sweet and loving they are as a couple!
Their silly argument, especially over who is top or bottom, never gets old, as well as so many other silly arguments that make a couple, a couple.
Yet, at same time, we have sweet and even sexy moments in the show.
I especially love the scene when Li Cheng sings to Teng Teng, melts my heart 100x! That song is so beautifully written, check out the lyrics, u guys, its SO GOOD! I wish someone would sing that to me, lol.
The main OST is good too, I actually watched the episode without skipping intro, which is rare!
Overall, I enjoy this couple a lot, not necessarily the entire show, because I skip the other couple.
I really wanna give the show 10/10 but I simply can't because of other couple in the show. Otherwise, Teng Teng and Li Cheng would deserve even more than 10/10!

The story line
For me i like the story, the actors,the plot twist and i like their acting, and if you really dig deeper about the story line you will surely understand and love it,and even if how many times i watch it,i really never get tired of it ,at first when i watch it i got confused and i cant fully understand the story line but after i rewatch it i fully understand the story. As a long time BL / Yaoi fan i can feel that the main couple including the sides couple have a chemistry. Just watch for Li Chen and Mu Ren
At first I thought this was going to be an awesome show and it mostly was. It is filled with handsome guys that might like each other and some girls that actually nice to look at and they don't have any toxic "lets hip them together" attitudes. The plot was very simple but brilliantly executed. Most of the lead characters had jobs, which was a huge brake from the school boy drama (though I love them) and they had great chemistry with each other. It could have been so sweet if it was just about Li and Mu.Li Chen and Mu Ren had such a fun and healthy relationship that I actually was wondering if they were ever pretending to be together. It seemed so natural for them to be together, they literally balanced each other like light and dark. Their comedic timing, their witty banter, their general love hate relationship had me rolling for most of the serious. I can see how they ended up confused about each other in the end, because their love for each other ran deep and I think they only realised it when they began their fake date...
However, Fu Yong Jie and Xing Si were literally the heights of toxicity and it was attempted to be shown as love. Xing Si is a total crazy and we all know he inherited that from his mother. What sort of mother encourages their son to do something like that to another human bean? Also who tries to brush something like rape off as a minor thing. Having these two characters end up together in any capacity was a huge mistake. No human in their right mind should have to be put through this, especially by someone that claims to love them soooooo much.

idk if this one is good or bad
As a fan of the HIStory series, this drama is a must watch for me. But whenever I watch it, my feelings will be either happy or annoyed. The reasons are because of its pros and cons I come up with after watching the every episodes.PROS:
• Good acting from Xeng Si and Li Cheng
• Effective comedy specially because of Li Cheng’s cheerful personality
• Really like the first half of the total episode. From pretending to having real feelings; it is cute and funny
• Personally, the 1 & 0 topic is new for me and I am so entertained on how they keep fighting for the top position
CONS:
• Poor camera angles
• The obsessed brother is so annoying and manipulative. Obsession is very different from love. I like Xeng Si but I just can’t help myself to be happy for their relationship. The story is very similar to the popular yet controversial Addicted Heroine from China. HIStory2: Crossing the Line, also shows step-brother romance into it and I think the franchise are trying to make it romantic but obviously they failed.
• The last few episodes lose the spark or lovely element I felt during the earlier episodes
I do enjoy watching it but I can’t give it a higher rating since there are factors negatively affects my feedback about it.

Proceed With Caution - Viewer Discretion is Advised
I watched this drama eons ago and I suddenly felt compelled to type up a legit review. Don't ask why! I don't know. This is another drama that sits in a very grey area for me. This drama probably has the best acting, more cohesive story/plot, and better chemistry out of the entire History franchise/verse but it's also the most triggering thing you will probably ever watch from the Asian BL world in recent years. This drama is chock full of TRIGGER WARNINGS. I am not kidding when I say that. If you happen to stumble upon this review in the year 2025 and you've never seen this drama, heed my warning. Heed everyone's warnings, actually! When people say it's incredibly problematic and triggering, that is NOT an exaggeration. Please be mindful and take care of yourself.Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let me delve into why this drama sits in a grey area for me. Aside from what's already been mentioned, of course. I honestly really liked this drama. I know, I know. Please put the pitchforks down! It's triggering, it's problematic, but I really liked this drama. Don't get me wrong - I felt incredibly conflicted as I watched this drama for obvious reasons. Rape was a major plot point in this show, and I don't know why. I have no idea why they chose sexual assault/rape as a plot line and it happened a couple of times. There was an attempted rape but then there was a completed rape (which is gross to even type but that's the best way I can describe it). Then again, they were already toeing the line with having the ML's younger brother stalking him and falling in love with him. Yes, they may not be biologically related. However, the younger brother was raised from an early age to see him as his brother. They were raised alongside each other as brothers.
Here's where things get icky - despite the fact that these two men were raised to view each other as brothers (and the older brother saw the younger brother as such the ENTIRE time up until the birthday trip), the actors had IMPECCABLE chemistry. Their chemistry is so good that you ALMOST forget what's happened and who they are to each other. It's the weirdest thing. It's almost as if the casting department went out and decided to cast the two people with the best chemistry for this job and unleashed them onto the audience! That's where the conflict comes in because you're confused. You know they're brothers but you also can't ignore the very fiery and passionate chemistry between them. It's weird! Then again, the Taiwan market doesn't mind the pseudo-incest thing as much as other cultures do, it seems.
Unfortunately, the second couple was way more interesting to watch than the lead couple. Imagine that! The lead couple is fairly boring and mundane compared to the second couple. However, the lead couple is a LOT safer in comparison. But don't get it twisted - the lead couple has its own issues too. You have a ML pretending to be romantically involved with his straight best friend to get closer to a woman he's obviously attracted to. Neither of them are gay but they do start to fall for each other during this highly problematic ruse. It's problematic but less so.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely not. There's far too many land mines of triggers in this drama to safely recommend it to anyone. Would I rewatch it? I have in the past and may do so in the future. I'll be honest about it.

RAPE IS NOT OK! Nor his stalking and abusive behavior!
I really like HIStory 2 and 3 (minus the ending), so I was really excited for this new chapter in the series.The first episode was OK setting the characters and the mysterious stalker of one of them. The guys are cute and was a sort of interesting premise.
However, a few episodes in, we discover the stalker is the adoptive brother of one of the main characters, who not only beats a guy (the brother's best friend) out of jealousy but then proceeds to guilt trip, get drunk and finally rape his brother while he was passed out. After that, the rapist keeps on guilt-tripping and gaslighting his brother and we're supposed to empathize and even condone his actions because he's iN LoVe.
The other story is slightly better but still filled with clichés and homophobic sh*t.
I wouldn't recommend this series but if you HAVE to watch it, just watch Teng Mu Ren and Hsiao Li Chen story and fastforward the rest.

I have been waiting for this show to air since long and I am still waiting for more episodes to air. This drama can easily be my favorite BL (even though we have only been half way); the chemistry between the characters...the sexual tension...the butterflies...everything is off the charts. I want this show to continue forever tbh. :) I recommend this show to every BL lover, I mean just watch the show and tell me if you fell in love with everything and everyone or not. It's just getting worse and worse...
I cannot start to describe my disappointment from this latest installment of the HIStory series. While all other installments got better and better (especially the unforgettable "Trapped") this seems to be made by a different production, written by an immature teenager with silly jokes about" who is 0 and is 1" and "dicks sizes", and directed by a homophobe...The ridiculous storyline and the way some very serious issues are handled left me literally in disbelief. The macho fratboy vs. the androgenous/effeminate character, the sweet older brother vs. the obsessed Psyco younger brother - none makes sense, and none works toward the message of the other HIStory stories that "love is love", in a positive, loving way. The preview for the next episode (11-12) makes it even worse...(who tapes himself raping the man he claims to love to show to his parents ????). This is not the HIStory we love. Much has been written about the moral issues and the two annoying females, so I will not get into it. The poor actors do their best, but they have very little to work with. It is not what we expect from a BL series in 2021, especially when we have "We best love" and some awesome Korean series. In short, horrible.Was this review helpful to you?
