The series should have focused on the main characters
At first it was a bit weird to see Phuwin and Neo as brothers, since they worked so well as friends, and a bit more, in 'Cause You're My Boy. But it helped with the scenes they had together, since they already had chemistry.Duean’s scenes with Pi, his family and friends are great. But unfortunately, most of the time he’s on screen is paired with the worst part of the show: Meen. He’s such an annoying character. He acts like as if a 12 year old teen got stuck in a college age guy’s body. Thankfully their story is pretty much skippable in a rewatch of the show, you just need to forward until the aspect ratio goes back to normal.
Our main couple I enjoyed way more. Pi and Mork work well together. But I feel like the show could have set them together around episode 7, and not try to make Pi go for Nan again. They didn’t need to be happy or dating officially from ep. 7 to the end, but I feel like we could have had more sweet movements between them. The drunk night with the rain scene was a perfect example of moments we would have. I think it wouldn’t have made the last episode so rushed If they got together earlier. Also, the friends reveling that she has feelings for Mork was just unnecessary. I was prepared to praise the show for not doing that.
The ugly duckling aspect of the show is very forced. First, it’s not like Pi changed that much. And above all, I don’t like the fact that Mork used his voice as Pi’s only friend to point everything wrong with him and try to make him change. I was very surprised with how well Pi took the reveal about Mork being his Facebook friend. It’s quite the betrayal, since he opened up and told his secrets to Mork, and he used that to get his way.
I’m also very frustrated with how this show wasted Mix. I understand that they might have had him for only a limited time, but his character is very one note all the time. I also feel like the professor that only spoke in English was random. The older brother and the mom drama did not contribute anything to the series.
Surprisingly, the shippers here didn’t annoy me so much as in other series. But they caused much of the couple problems.

I didn't expect that FUTS will be that "good"
Fish upon the Sky (FUTS) is a good series. It is not that heavy compared to other Thai series that I have watched on GMMTV's channel. It offers or gives a cool or refreshing storytelling method; I think this has so much potential if the story/plot is better.I am not saying that the story or plot is not good. In fact, I kind of liked it. It has a cliche storyline like the usual boy love series that I have watched so far: the enemy-to-lovers plot. I was just hoping that the writers delved more into how Mork (Pond) fell in love with Pi (Phuwin) because it was not clearly mentioned or narrated in the story as they just simply showed a scene where Pi and Mork directly interacted with each other.
The characters cannot be real. They do not have the quality of realness, they are really fiction characters. Mork was depicted to be a "coward" in confessing his affection or at least showing it in the first parts of their story before being friends and couple. It is somehow confusing how Mork totally overcome his "fear" of approaching Pi while being directly flirty with him when Pi started to interact with Nan (Mix).
I think Phuwin did a good job of acting. I think he portrayed his character well. Pond has still this "newbie-vibe" in the industry but still was able to do his job well. They have good chemistry, I just hope that they will be given a better project with better storyline and script soon. On the other hand, the character of Duean was overacted to the point that sometimes it is already cringing and not funny anymore. Meen was good and his character was really convinceable; I did not expect that he sang the official sound track (OST) of the series not until I finished watching it and searched for the OST.
Moreover, the music and sounds used in the series are good. I got addicted to it for weeks.
On the whole, I can say that I can recommend it to others who are looking for series that are light-hearted and somehow heart-warming. I am waiting for season 2 with better plot and improved acting skills of actors.

Decent but rough, pretty much a trashy romance type of show yk
Aug 4, 2021Hmmm I don’t even know what words to say for this series. Like its decent not bad but not good either. Both leads are either too dumb or too pushy and very desperate? Honestly some parts are so frustrating but I wasn’t bored either. Like I laughed on parts and skipped episodes…. So even I am confused 🤔 like I don’t even know what to say or if I recommend this for other people… but yeaa 💀
I’ll prolly categorize this as those trashy romance cliché drama if you know what I mean …

Fluffy and Cute or what!!!!
A perfect romcom!!!Couple 1...MorkPi
Pi is a introvert and is constantly shadowed by his big bro Duean, has no real fndz and bullied badly.
Enters his "secret online fnd" with whom his shares all his thoughts and worries taking comfort.
He crushs on Nan who is close fndz with Mork. Pi gets in his head that Mork is a contender for Nan's love and treats him as rival trting to best him.
Mork is a darling!!! He silently supports Pi but is always misunderstood by Pi.
One of such incidents leds to Pi getting a makeover for Nan and out comes our Handsome Seme who is in reality a Uke;)
Too many fluffy scences later our ship sails high..yipee. (go watch the series to find out about these fluffy loves;))
Couple 2. DueanMeen
My my my...wat can i say...one f my cute innocent pairs in all series..Meen is jus so so so "adorable" and Duean is a putty in his pinky!!!
Their story was the right mix of naive clean beautiful love development...
Duean is a 5th year engg student who needs to clear life skill subject to graduate, Meen is a first yr of the same class. They pair up to do assignments and end up in love.
Acting: to the point on leads...perfect overacting on the C4 conedy group 4 of Duean.
Story: cute fluffy romcom
Music: catchy
Overall: BL addicts must watch!!!!

Hilarious but swoon-worthy
Phuwin is so adorable as Pi. He can really go from soft boi to “f*ck this sh*t” attitude with ease. He and Pond (Mork) are so perfect together given their strong appeal and childish characters. I also love the family angle, adds more dynamic (and comedy value) to the series. I wish we get more Mork-Pi moments in the remaining 8 or so episodes, but I’m sure we will since the story is slowly building up. IT’S A GREAT, LIGHT ROM-COM ESPECIALLY NOW WITH ALL THESE STRESSFUL, CRAZY-TANGLED SERIES AROUND. REALLY LOVING IT SO FAR!!!Was this review helpful to you?
A Series you shouldn't miss.
Actually, to be honest, I wasn't even waiting for this series to air. I wasn't excited after reading the synopsis. I thought it'd be just like those ordinary ones out there. But, to my surprise, it turned out to be a great series. It might partially because I relate to Pi so much that I can't describe. I've watched hundreds of series but I never related to any character this much before. It is a simple yet extraordinary tale of love, friendship, and to some point family too. It shows the viewers the importance of trust and love in people's lives. And that, at times, it's okay to depend on someone, and that it's okay to trust others, And that it's important to love yourself before loving anyone else, and that a person should think more about himself than about others. There were many sweet family moments which I very much appreciate. Although they start on the wrong foot, their relation deepens as time goes by, and the broken Pi starts trusting again as he realizes that there was always someone, protecting and caring for him quietly and loving him the way he was. The OSTs and dialogues add to the fun, and you get butterflies in your stomach watching it. The second couple left no effort and were amazing. It had been a great watch. BL scolaire et GMMTV...
La promotion était sympathique. Pour cette raison, j'avais prévu d'y jeter un coup d'œil, sachant d'avance que je n'allais pas être assidue sur mon visionnage. Les BL scolaires me sortent par les yeux (on a que ça, ces derniers temps) et doublement lorsqu'ils sont estampillés GMMTV. À croire qu'ils ont le monopole sur le BL scolaire. Et bien, heureusement que je n'avais aucune attente pour ce drama…Le scénario est… inexistant ? J'ai eu l'impression de voir le drama du mois dernier avec un nouveau casting. Le gars impopulaire qui se confronte au gars populaire. Entre deux scènes, on ajoute un couple secondaire qui servira de transition au besoin. On apporte aussi le duo qui nourrit une obsession pour les couples de leur université, on mélange et paf ! Fish Upon the Sky était né.
À partir du quatrième épisode, mon intérêt (déjà au ras des pâquerettes) s'est fracassé au sol. Que dis-je, il s'est planté dans la terre. L'humour était lourd. Les situations gênantes, humiliantes et malaisantes étaient nombreuses et pénibles. Je me demande si ces scènes ont un réel intérêt comique, ou si c'est mon humour qui est cassé. Ok, je n'ai peut-être pas tant d'humour, mais je sais l'apprécier et peu importe le nombre de dramas thaï à mon actifs, ces scènes sont plus un embarras pour moi qu'une partie de plaisir. Mais soit… Le casting était passable. Certains dialogues sont sympathiques, mais rien ne sauve vraiment ce drame pour moi.
En bref, Fish Upon the Sky est un drame de remplissage qui ne va pas au-delà du BL scolaire estampillé GMMTV.

Fish Upon The Sky (2021)
Essa é muito divertida e linda essa série tailandesa, parece-me uma "comédia romântica" ao estilo de Doris Day e Rock Hudson. Os couple's são lindos demais e talentosos, de um lado, os protagonistas, que os atores Phuwin (como Pi ou Phattawe) e Pond (como Sutthaya ou Mork) e do outro Neo Trai como o divertido Duen, Duen, Duen, Duen... e o ator Louis Thanawin como Meen, que além de cantor maravilhoso da OST de abertura, representou bem o divertido ingênuo, puro e casto. Toda vez que Meen repetia o nome Duen, era a delícia dos fãs, era minha transcendência de um cotidiano caótico devido à Covid-19 no Brasil.... Delícia, o Duen mil vezes repetido funcionava para humanizar mais e mais o personagem vivido por Trai... O roteiro é muito inteligente, pois tentou fugir ao linear, uma "quase quarta parede" quando Duen conversava com uma voz em off, e tem o personagem Pi em conversa online com alguém que é seu esteio - Mork... Tudo muito divertido, e nessa pandemia, a diversão é o que desejamos. Queremos sorrir, e "Fish Upon The Sky" cumpriu esse papel, e quando terminou, ficou um gostinho de quero mais. BL cómico, fresco, desternillante!
FINALIZADO (OPINIÓN AL FINAL)Mi opinión después de ver los últimos capítulos de este BL thailandés es muy diferente a cuando acabé el segundo capítulo. Estuve a punto de dejarlo. Después de Thousand stars, un BL de lo más clásico y romántico, no me esperaba esta historia un tanto absurda, con un humor desenfadado y descarado, que cuenta la vida amorosa de un estudiante de odontología gay muy friki y patito feo que para intentar acercarse y conquistar a su gran amor cambia su look y se atreve a enfrentarse al que considera su rival amoroso, un atractivo estudiante de medicina. Para tener éxito en su propósito contará con la ayuda ( o no, jajjaj) de su hermano mayor un "super" senior muy mal estudiante, perezoso y vividor que ayudará al protagonista en sus lios amorosos mientras que él mismo cae en las redes del amor.
Mi impresión después de los primeros capítulos fue bastante mala: repetición del tema universitario (otra vez), el chico protagonista demasiado tsundere, el top muy guapo pero previsible, situaciones más bién cringe, ruiditos en todos los momentos cómicos que te ponían nerviosa, la publicidad dentro de la serie de lo más descarada y sobre todo, un estilo narrativo con voces en off en la narración de las locuras del hermano mayor que me resulto irritante. Había algunas cosas que me gustaron: los actores principales son guapos, actuan bién y tienen química, la producción está bien hecha, la música es bonita, pero no creía que fueran razones suficientes para engancharme.
Y entonces en el tercer capítulo es cuando las cosas cambiaron porque lo cómico pudo conmigo y mis reticencias. Esta serie es pura comedia y si lo aceptas como la parte principal de la historia entonces todo cambia y te desternillas. Es diferente a otras series bl universitarias. Es menos dramática y más desenfadada y sobre todo muy ORIGINAL y divertida cuando nos cuenta la historia del hermano mayor: si, tengo que reconocer que lo que más me irritaba al principio ahora es lo que más me gusta: Duain está tan loco, es tan tonto y pelmazo que o lo amas o lo odias y a mi me ha ganado su locura y también su corazón tierno. Su historia con el dulce e inocente Mean puede ser de lo más cuqui !!!!
En cuanto a la pareja principal aún cuando su trayectoria supongo que será más cliché que la secundaria me están gustando cada vez más. La devoción de Mork por su amado Pi es inagotable, su amor es generoso, sus acciones son bondadosas!! Puede llegar a ser (si Pi lo acepta y se lo permite) el novio más perfecto que existe y el actor novel que lo interpreta lo hace muy bien. Y qué decir de Phuwin Tangsakyuen como Pi, después de ver los 6 capítulos, creo que hace un recital interpretativo y cada vez se le ve más cómodo con su personaje deleitándonos con multitud de expresiones faciales que van de lo cómico a lo dramático.
La recomiendo muchísimo para pasar un buen rato!!
ACTUALIZADO Y FINALIZADO: Después de ver los capítulos finales de Fish upon the sky, me reitero en mis palabras. Este BL me ha gustado mucho, y creo que se le debe dar una oportunidad!! Las dos parejas protagonistas son de lo más tiernas y encantadoras, y aúnque pueda parecer un pelín cringe al principio en seguida el tono de comedia se vuelve más suave y resulta una historia muy dulce, muy bonita, con una química romántica destacable y con un buen final que deja bien calentito el corazón! Para curar depresiones y malos momentos la recomiendo totalmente, te cambia el "mood" en tan solo unos minutos!!

Menceritakan seorang mahasiswa kedokteran gigi bernama Pi yang culun, anti sosial, dan benar-benar tidak menarik. Dia ingin mendapatkan kisah cinta yang epic seperti di dunia dongeng, dia mempunyai ekspektasi yang tinggi tentang itu ; namun terkadang dia menyadari bahwa dirinya bukan laki-laki idaman, sampai dia bertemu dengan seseorang bernama Meuang Nan dan tertarik padanya ; ia berusaha mendekatinya - namun di saat yang sama ada mahasiswa lain bernama Mork (mahasiswa kedokteran umum) yang jatuh cinta pada Pi. Apakah Pi dapat memilih apakah dia akan mengejar Meuang Nan atau menerima cinta Mork ?. Saksikan seriesnya !. Dari segi cerita, cukup menarik ya karena menampilkan relasi cinta yang unik, yang satu mengejar dan yang satu dikejar. Orientasi series ini cukup punya kekuatan sendiri karena menampilkan main-role yang benar-benar culun dan jauh dari kata impian sampai akhirnya seiring berjalannya series dia benar-benar berubah ; selain itu, ada main couple kedua yang cukup menarik yaitu Deuan dan Meen ' keduanya punya chemistry yang bagus dan benar-benar sebuah main-couple tambahan yang mewarnai series ini. Kompisisi warna scene pada setiap episode series cenderung datar dan tidak terlalu terlihat berkarakter, namun tidak apa karena pengemasan detailnya yang menarik sudah cukup menutupi semua kekurangannya. Funciona el que es, que es una serie cómica
No se si esta serie salió antes o después de Bad Buddy pero la verdad que que la mirás y ves que es otra serie BL que busca amoldarse a los tiempos que corren.La historia es tierna y disfutable, tanto para Mork y Pee que son la pareja principal, como con Duean y Meen que son la pareja secundaria.
La relación de Pee en cuanto al conflicto con su imagen y la relación que va estableciendo con Mork a medida que deja de verlo como un rival amoroso y lo ve más como su futuro novio es interesante de ver, aunque por momentos cae en clichés ya usados por otras series que bordean un poco la vergüenza ajena y te quedás diciendo "¿por qué alguien decidió incluir esto si con lo anterior quedaba más que bien?". Y por eso creo que para mí la pareja secundaria funciona también dentro del caos que Fish Upon The Sky puede ser a veces; Meen es un personaje gracioso que cuando cae en la de romper la cuarta pared lo hace maravillosamente y cuando intenta entablar la relación con Duean (que es un sol) queda en claro que no es malo, sino boludo.
El personaje de Nan me parece muy bien colocado, en cuanto es una especie de voz del espectador en momentos clave de la serie.
En cuestión total, es linda de ver y cuando la terminás te encontrás largando una sonrisita que dice "awww" así que si no la vieron, y una lástima porque debería ser más promovida en Twitter denle una oportunidad porque sacandole de lado algunos elementos cringe es bastante innovadora y trae a la mesa una nueva forma de contar una historia que se ha visto bastante veces ya, y les va a dejar un buen sabor en la boca y capaz hasta les ayuda arrancar la semana de una manera más feliz.
