Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

갯마을 차차차 ‧ Drama ‧ 2021
Although one drama has special ability, both dramas give off similar vibes.
- male leads is still living with an unresolved past trauma
- male lead moves into a quiet neighbourhood (MLL) | female lead moves to the countryside (HCCC)
- both leads have met each other before
- male leads led a mysterious life
- strong/tough female leads
- female lead has her own tarot cafe (MLL) | female lead has her own clinic (HCCC)

Opens their own clinic for making money (ML - DPC / FL - HCCC)
Both are skilled in their fields but sometimes thay face bad luck (DPC - Internal Medicine / HCCC- Dentist)
Rest the dramas are watchable from their own end points

Both dramas follow the "big city girl moves to a quirky small town with lots of eccentric neighbors" plot.

Zhang Jing Yi is the FL in both. The chemistry is natural. The relationship had depth. However, BEITD does not have a satisfactory ending.

may not be outrightly similar, but they have similar themes in terms of maturity in characters and their relationships
both the main leads are open with each other and are expressive with their feelings
dinner mate is more mature and talks about moving on from past relationships and is more centered on dating life
whereas HometownCha is more about healing through people and love
both dramas are different in terms of setting but very similar in terms of characters
Hong Banjang is carefree and loving like Kim Hae Kyung
Yoon HyeJin is career oriented and focussed like Woo DoHee, but not as funny or expressive
all in all, both are worth watching!

The FLs in both dramas start working in a new environment where they aren't received with open arms and must prove themselves to the locals before they are accepted. Both also feature leads that don't hit it off too well in the beginning, but by the end of the show they are romantically involved.

Its not the story, its the vibe that is similar in both.............................................

Both have feel-good vibes, a slow burn storyline and a wonderful ensemble cast. Both make you feel like your stress is being washed away with each episode..

Both drama are sweet love stories about finding someone that understands and accepts you as you are. Both are comforting and healing drama.

vastly different in terms of plot settings, DAYS being a fantasy-esque slice of life and HC not having any magical elements at all
both are similar in terms of themes of healing, accepting and overcoming hiddena and untold grief with the company of others. While DAYS achieves this with the help of a fantastical setting, HC is a more lowkey, humble hometown backdrop.
what i love in both the dramas, what especially led me to draw similarities between the two was just how cute, wholesome and domestic the two couples are. the way they interact, their comfort amongst themselves is whats truly healing and makes the two healing dramas
both have cute support couples
both have characters rooting for each other and helping eachother grow and move on from grief and trauma

Other than sharing Lee Sang Yi in both shows, both shows focus on the people's relationships.

Natural, easy going, not much dramatic filled moments.

Slice of life dramas with romance, and filled with colorful supporting cast.

Both share cold and aloof female leads, who both share trauma that makes them that way. Both take a while to thaw out their pain to be happier in the end.

It's the same director-writer duo and handles with the female lead taking a turn in her career. Both of them are perfectionist too, while the male leads are more laid back, though they have their struggles. Both of the dramas center around a neighborhood.

Rural themed dramas
Great acting from leads and secondary actors too
HCCC has comedy and melo and Potato lab so far is more romcom
The bickering in both is top notch
