Intriguing...
It's only 2 episodes in so there's not a lot to say other than 'watch this now!' I love Korean dramas for their production values and there pretty actors but some of there BL's can be a bit lacklustre when it comes to interesting plot and slow pacing. I have not read the original source material but it immediately drew me in with its amazing storytelling for what seems like a simple enough plot. Its clever and engaging and funny with perfect pacing to match. The performances from all the leads plus the side characters are wonderful. Who can resist an enemies to lovers plot line, definitely a 'must see' right now I'm really impressed with this more than any other Korean BL I've seen of late. Was this review helpful to you?

Computer science major Chu Sang Woo is the epitome of an inflexible and strict rule-abiding person. While working on a liberal arts group project with freeloaders who don’t put in any effort, Sang Woo reasonably decides to remove their names from the final presentation. But he didn’t imagine how involved he would become with the person whose study-abroad plans were messed up because of that project. The involved person: the campus star who everyone knows, Department of Design’s Jang Jae Young. He has everything from skills, looks, family background and good relationships except for 1 big problem: Chu Sang Woo.
What happens when an engineer and an artist whose personalities are like oil and water have to work together? Jang Jae Young is like a semantic error in the perfect world of Chu Sang Woo. Will Sang Woo be able to debug this?

No Errors, Just Joy
Semantic Error felt like it arrived carrying everything I’d been waiting for — a Korean BL that didn’t flinch, didn’t dilute itself into subtext, and didn’t treat love between two men as something fragile or tragic. Instead, it gave me exactly what I’ve always craved: romance that felt alive, unapologetic, and full of small, electric moments that made my chest tighten in the best possible way.Part of it is my bias. I loved the manhwa so deeply that there was always going to be a thrill in seeing Jae Young and Sang Woo move beyond panels into breathing, shifting life. But this adaptation didn’t just replicate them. It understood them.
Park Seo Ham as Jae Young felt almost unfairly perfect — all that chaotic, teasing charisma, balanced by an undercurrent of sincerity that hit me harder than I expected. Every smirk carried layers: affection, annoyance, curiosity, longing. And Jae Chan’s Sang Woo was equally compelling in a completely different register. He wasn’t just logical and prickly for comedic effect; there was vulnerability flickering under every precise word, a sense of someone who didn’t know how to want without overthinking it to death.
Together, they felt like inevitability. Their shift from rivals to something warmer wasn’t forced, wasn’t rushed. It felt natural — like breathing. Every look between them carried meaning, every accidental brush of hands felt deliberate, every smile felt earned. The show didn’t pad their dynamic with needless angst; it let the tension and release play out with confidence, trusting that the heart of their story was enough.
Visually, it was crisp and intimate — sterile labs and silent study halls giving way to Jae Young’s messy studio and bursts of playful color. None of it felt cheap or pandering. It felt like care. Like someone behind the camera knew how important it was to make this story feel as real as any other romance, without caveats.
People might call it simple, and maybe it is. But sometimes simplicity is exactly what I need. No overworked metaphors, no tortured plot twists, just a story about two people learning to want each other honestly, without shame or hesitation.
Watching Semantic Error felt like being sixteen again in the best way — every side glance, every smirk, every tiny moment sparking joy so immediate it almost hurt. It reminded me why these stories matter, why they feel like a balm, why they’re not just fluff, but proof that love can exist without fear or apology.
For me, it was perfect. No semantic errors. Just love.

One Of The Best Korean BL Drama In 2022! Wish It Was Longer
I finally completed watching this Drama I started watching when it first aired in Mid February 2022,I did not have alot of time to watch alot of Dramas at the begenning of the year so I put this on hold and I am
so glad I finished watching it. This Drama is so freaking cute and wish there were longer episodes.
I feel that the writer was testing the waters with the style as it was more cautious with not over loading too much romance.
This drama is watchable for anyone into BL drama, it's also recommendable for first time BL fans.
The two MLs are opposite of each other, one is a fun and happy cheerful and handsome Designer while the othe
is a serious bossy type but cute and over thinks everything that he think the other lead is ERROR! ERROR!!
But the only error was not having more episodes, it was the right amount of everything. Sometimes watching these
clean romantic shows are just the ingredients we need to laugh a little.
My ratings at the beginning was 8/10 and after finishing I gave it a full 10/10
because the only Semantic ERROR was not making more and longer episodes.

What all rom coms should measure up to
Absolutely the best! Story, acting, music, production, directing: 10/10. I watch this over and over and literally over again. I wish I could buy this in hard copy because I don’t watch things on Viki very often. Am I obsessed? Certainly. It could use you a couple of more intimate moments but that’s KBL story/editing for you. The original manhwa was as chaste as this show. Was this review helpful to you?

10/10
I knew people loved this show going into it, but it's genuinely one of the best BLs I've ever watched. In fact I think it sets a new standard - especially for Korean BLs. It was clearly given thought and an amount of care that is usually only afforded to heterosexual dramas. The cinematography, the soundtrack, the actors' chemistry was all a complete success in my opinion. It also (accidentally to my knowledge) provided some excellent representation of an autistic character navigating dating and adult relationships. Not to mention casual bisexual representation without it being a *thing* that it patted itself on the back for.
There are so many good things to say about this drama honestly. The only downside is how short it is, but don't let that discourage you from watching and loving it.

This show has embedded into my thoughts forever.
8 episodes is too short! The actors are perfect! I find myself unable to stop thinking of Park Seo Ham.
I haven't had this feeling after watching a BL in a long time. The last time I cannot stop thinking about a BL after watching it was Sotus. Before Sotus, was Addicted Heroin.
I love the direction of the series and needless to say, the execution of the entire crew, cast was sublime. We need a few more seasons and a movie!

BEST BL!
I can't even begin to describe how much I love this kdrama. Im not much of a BL watcher but I decided to give these two a chance and man, I was NOT disappointed. So many BLs nowadays glamorize SA and no consent for the sake of attention but this was so pure and lovely. Their whole thing was warning the other that they'll kiss them and he gets to choose whether he will allow it or not. When pushed away, he remains away and doesn't push forward. They're both so sweet and slow with one another, it made me thing maybe BLs aren't THAT bad.Was this review helpful to you?

STANDARD BL THAT DIDN'T REALLY STAND OUT
I watched this quite a bit ago so this will all be from what I remember...The story is your avarage enemies to lovers...Nothing really particular stands out, but this does not mean it's bad, it just leaves you wanting more.
The acting was good but forgettable, they played their characters well but did not REALLY embody them and sometimes went in too stereotypical ways for my taste.
Music was good from what I remember, but also not a standout.

Semantic Error is 100% one of my favorite BL series of all time. It may be short, but the relationship development is so good and I love it so much. I will 100% rewatch many times again in the future.

Silly in the best way.
I have a strong preference for cinema with an overall serious atmosphere, however, «Semantic Error» is drama that manages to be endearingly silly without coming across as overly cartoonish or cheap in the romance.Having read the webtoon prior to watching the drama, I feel compelled to mention how I think Jaeyoung's drama adapted persona is a great step-up from his character in the source material.
No other actors would have fit Sangwoo and Jaeyoung as well as Park Jaechan and Park Seoham.

I found many dramas to be boring. This one was NOT one of them.
Still one of the best bl's I've ever watched. Was hesitant to start because i was lazy but binged it and finished watching it till 8am.
Kiss scenes were so good. I usually watch thriller dramas but THIS. I really hope i can find a drama like this, the little effects like ERROR ERROR were gold
