Liberating from things that hold you back takes time
Watching this to get over 2521 and almost dropped it after the 4th episode but finding myself to look forward to it, so I continue. It's just so refreshing to see nothing grand happens in the first few episodes, just ordinary people living their ordinary lifes. Yet, those actions and words they speak hold so much meaning. The three siblings who wish to break free from the monotonous lifes and an alcoholic who seems to never be sober. Along the journey, they find and face their own issues to be liberated from them and live happier lifes. I am so proud of them to never give up and continue their lifes although it's not a smooth journey and lifes seem to always work not in the way they want, but they still find hope and meaning in small things. It makes you think about your life too, what are things you want to be liberates from. Storyline, actings, cinematography and chemistry are definitely top tier. As for the ending, I don't hate it, just feeling neutral. At least they are now off to the better places, still having hope and continue to be liberated. Was this review helpful to you?
So sad, yet so comforting.
A story where it revolves around three characters. Same family but different struggles.I love how all characters are flawed, have a personality you won't like, and hard to love and understand. How can a drama make me feel so empty yet so full?
The relationships between their parents, partners, friends, and even with their jobs are so relatable. The bond of each actors and actresses are so natural. You can feel their emotions even the quiet and dull characters, how they differently face each problems and how they speak their feelings.
Last, I love the ending. It's rare to find a korean drama where the ending is not rushed. They made sure that all 3 main characters had their moment at the end, super loved it!
I give it a 10/10. This is such a good drama, makes me appreciate the people around me and living more.
(Loved Lee El and Lee Ki Woo so much in this drama!)

However, I really couldn't understand why Chang hee and Hyeona broke up, I was rooting for them. There are many scenes where I didn't get clarity maybe bc they decided to keep it that way. I also didn't understand the ending and I was shocked to know this drama just ended like this. I was hoping to get an finishing ending. Although the drama had ended but it didn't feel like it ended. It felt just like any other 15 episodes. I loved ost here sm.

Too realistic that it hurts to watch.
If you've watched even one K-drama, you know that many of them are very loud. What I meant by loud is sound effects, never-ending background music, watching the same scene from 4 different camera angles. These kind of dramas are pretty fun and enjoyable for sure, but sometimes you just want to watch calm scenes, a beautiful cinematography, the bird sounds, their talks while walking, the cricket sounds all the time through the summer. This is a drama that you will find peace. My Liberation Notes is a realistic drama that shows you three sibling's life. İt is so realistic that hurts to watch sometimes. I didn't notice while watching the drama but after I finished it, I realize how many thing happened in this drama. İt didn't feel like I watched 16 episodes, I felt like I watched a bunch of people's life for a straight year. But it's actually only been a week since I started it. There is a pretty big difference between the first and the last episode. Some of them found how to be happy, some of them found the liberation they were trying to find, some of them stayed the same. But at the end of it, so many things changed for all of their's life.
Yeom Mi-Jeong: She wasn't a person who had a lot of dreams. Actually, she didn't have any dreams, she didn't know what to do, how to be happy, how to be friends with the people. She just made a very sudden move and watched it how it is becoming to be a source of happiness. Mr.Gu and her really loved each other. Their relationship wasn't healty all time nor happy. They were just together at the sad and happy times. They both didn't know where this relationship is going or it's going to be a long term relationship, they just kept going. But I think we are all sure that they found happiness with each other. The Liberation Club is definitely a kind of club that I want to be in. Three people who don't want to act happy or sad, they just wanted to tell their experiences to strangers who wouldn't give them ridiculous advice. And at the end, they were successful about this club.
Yeom Gi-Jeong: How much I love this woman. She was just being herself all the time. Never tried to be someone else change for someone else. She just wanted to be loved by being herself. She had flaws, but she tried to make up for them all. The most touching scene of her for me was the scene where she kneeling next to her bed and apologizing to everyone she had ever mistreated. İt was so hard to love a man who has a daughter for her but she was okay with it. She loved him truly and said she can be the mother for his daughter. This was pretty big step for her but she was ready to do it. Yeom Gi-Jeong is a very brave character. Her watery eyes after her mom died made me so emotional every single time. I'm sure that Lee El is the only person who could play this role this beautiful.
Yeom Chang-Hee: He wanted something he had. But after he got it, he found out he wasn't trying to have something, he wanted to be alone with something he had. When he said that he is happy while sitting on the edge of a mountain with his coffee, watching the view, I understand what he will at the end of his story. And I was right. He is still alone and very happy. He accidentally entered a wrong classroom and found the job he will be doing for rest of his life. Yeom Chang-Hee witnessed so many deaths through his life and always said that my instincts take me there. He was right. I think ending of the drama for him was perfect.
Mr.Gu: Even though we still don't know many things about him, I want to talk about how his behaviours developed through the drama. I definitely think that Yeom Mi-Jeong was the person who is his savior. I don't know that if he was more happy at Sanpo or Seoul, but he become happier every time he saw Yeom Mi-Jeong. His character was mysterious and I really loved that. I think Son Suk-Ku was the perfect person to play this role.
Ji Hyeon-Ah: Unlike how people sees her, she was a caring person. Tried to find happiness in others but couldn't find it. İt was so good to see that she is taking care of her old boyfriend in the hospital. I wish she would've saw his last day. I sensed that they will be together from the start with Yeom Chang-Hee. But I wasn't surprised that this couldn't work. If i'm being honest, they were incompatible with each other.
The things I didn't like about this drama are very few.
First: the sharp cuts between the scenes. I don't like that the scene ends suddenly with the music. I know this is a pretty common thing to see but I think this is something that makes me uncomfortable. I would want to see this in the thrillers, like the drama The Frog did.
Second: The ending in the final episode. İt ended when we saw Yeom Mi-Jeong's face. I would have wanted to see all of the faces I saw so far.
Third: Some of the camera angles annoyed me. I want to see them in the middle of my screen in the important scenes.
So as I said I have only a few things I didn't like about this drama and that's all of them.
I was so satisfied with the actings in this drama. Especially The Father (Cheon Ho-Jin) and the Mother (Lee Kyung-seong) They are already incredible actors but I want to talk about them more. Their father talked with his eyes all along. You could see the sadness and happiness through his eyes. His sentence that made me so emotional is the "I thought I was taking care of the children, but after their mother died, I realized they were taking care of me." He is an incredible actor. And their mother. How can anyone play this realistic? She made me believe that how hard her life was. I should say that it was an honour to watch them.
The cinematography is insanely beautiful. Especially the views we saw at the Sanpo. I wanted to be there. I wanted to watch the view and listen to bird sounds.
The OST's were pretty good. It would've been better but it is good for this drama. They were calm and relaxing. Some of them expressed the sad feelings so well. But the main OST, My Liberation Notes, is just perfect. İt makes me feel all the emotions at the same tie.
I'm only 16 years old now and I've never experienced most of what I saw in this drama, but there were many points in this drama that touched my heart. I hope you can see what I saw at this drama too.
I hope I expressed myself clearly and didn't make many mistakes because my first language isn't English and I'm not very good at it. Have a good day.

The further you watch the more boring it is
First few episodes will draw you in but honestly, they wasted Mr. Gu character. They literally flushed him down the toilet. Producers had an idea how to start the story but they lost the plot later and the story collapsed. Such a disappointment. Nothing makes sense after few episodes. The characters go random directions without any reason or plan. I will definitely not watch it again. Such a waste of time. And because the review has to have at least 500 letters but I have nothing else to say about this series, I will keep typing until I reach the minimum. Was this review helpful to you?
Interesting
When I finished watching this drama, I didn't know what to think, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, because I feel that this drama has many things that I really like as well as many that I didn't like, the drama has a bit of a slow and quiet rhythm so maybe it's not for everyone, it's definitely not a fun or funny drama but it is very interesting and often makes you think. Was this review helpful to you?
Real Life, Unfiltered
A very interesting and truly special drama. This is not the typical light or silly K-drama at all. it’s deep, philosophical, and at times quite gloomy. Yet, this never takes away from its ability to draw you in. All the characters are compelling, but to be honest, I mainly watched it for Kim Ji-won and Son Suk-ku. After the halfway point, I found myself skipping scenes that didn’t involve them. It’s strange because I never thought I would enjoy this kind of drama, being such a big rom-com lover. However, its portrayal of human fragility and imperfection makes it incredibly realistic. Nothing feels fake or overly romanticized. There is very little physical contact, only one kiss that isn’t even clearly shown, yet the leads feel like two magnets constantly pulling toward and away from each other.
It’s important to say that this is not a “satisfying” drama in the traditional sense. if that’s what you’re looking for, this might not be for you. The ending isn’t really an ending at all: nothing sad, nothing happy, just life going on. And somehow, someone like me who usually looks for happy endings, ended up watching this, crying, smiling, doubting, and appreciating it.
A drama about real life, with all its growth and struggles. I was genuinely confused and bored during the first episodes, but I’m glad I kept going, because I eventually understood the depth of the story and every character. I’m sure this drama didn’t work for everyone, if you watch it superficially, it’s impossible to truly understand it.

Relaxing drama
This drama goes as it is. From the beginning of this drama to the end of this drama, everything feels comfortable and nothing seems forced. The acting of the cast is also very good.I feel that this drama feels more alive because there are significant differences between the characters, especially the character Chang Hee who brings the drama to life.
This drama seems to teach us to continue living, whatever happens, the important thing is to live first. Even though we don't know where we are going, for sure we will all achieve our freedom.

It's just calming and relaxing!
In the first 2 episodes, I thought and felt that the drama is too slow, but from the ending of the 2nd episode till the latest episode, I feel that this drama progressed pretty well. Somehow it made me feel calm and relaxed my brain. It also raised many questions about how we percieve others and ourselves. The feeling that this drama gives is just beautifull. I didn't even realize that I started loving this drama so much. It somehow made my day joyfull and made me feel at peace at the end of the day. If you are also searching for such a drama then just go for it. It may seem slow in the begining but it is just to build up a background. For me this drama was just perfect for these crazy hot summer days. Thanks to the makers and the cast for doing their best! : )Was this review helpful to you?

Shattering the shackels around your heart
Were you searching for answers of questions you don't actually know but you always wonder?Does it sound vague? Are you wondering what i am talking about? Go on. Dig in.
Be ready to feel stuff that don't generally want to feel because you HAVE to go do you day job or morning studies. Be prepared to question Normalcy, is it really that different from ordinary? Since, everyone wants to be extraordinary, doesn't it make Ordinary the most special.
At a first glance, this is a Ordinary drama about ordinary people leading their ordinary live.
But oh wonder!
This drama will handle the mundane aspects of life and make them kind of easy and hard hitting.
The acting from all the actors, leads as well as subs are just amazing and every person stand on their own. This makes me really glad that such a drama is regular and people are actually watching.
P.s: I will probably add stuff when, this drama will be over.

Healing drama
My Liberation Notes is a very realistic drama that will only be enjoyable if you can relate to at least one character. i personally believe every character is extremely relatable. Mi-Jeong is tired and feels stuck and wants someone to see her, to liberate her. i would relate Gi-Jeong to the song Liquid Smooth by Mitski. She wants to fall in love, but her standards are too high. she says she will "fall in love with anyone" and starts to realize she was the only person holding herself back and sees how to love someone for themselves! Chang-hee was definitely lost for a while, constantly stressing his parents out, but he just needed guidance. Mr. Gu becomes that older brother he always wanted which leads him to remember the won coin & mountain metaphor. Mr. Gu's character isn't a man of many words, but as the series goes on we start to understand why. i liked how they showed even though he was functioning well, he was still an alcoholic with loads of trauma; and they didn't make his problems disappear after he fell in love. I promise the drama isn't super depressing, i've heard a lot of ppl don't like it because it moves slow, but the show is just realistic. Mi-Jeong is miserable and feels alone, she wants to be seen and loved by anyone. Was this review helpful to you?
