Luk khrueng Alisa and her mother live in the USA. On the day they both go to see a medium, they're offered a ring that's supposed to change colour when danger approaches, and just after the ring turns green, Alisa's mother dies. Alisa then goes to live in Thailand with her father who'd divorced her mother when she was born. Alisa doesn't know who to trust: her father, Boonya, happy to see his daughter but seemingly in constant worry over safety; Krongthong, her stepmother who smiles kindly but is prepared to do anything to obtain Boonya's inheritance; Kong, her half-brother and son of Krongthong who has ill-intentions towards his half-sister; and her young neighbour Yom who crushes on Alisa while her ring turns to green at his approach.
