The bickering btwn old madam and her brother was so funny. All the juicy details were exposed by her brother my god. Whoaaa I really pity the husband and daughter of Madam Ge. She was so cruel toward them.

May '23 5th rewatch and updating my take on the Cheng's and LBY -- CSS' father has a strong sense of love for his wife and is all fatherly love for his daughter/CSS. He manages a loving balance with wife, daughter & mother. Xiao Yuayi. CSS' mother, is strict and definitely a military general's wife who is use to issuing military discipline feels strongly to undo her daughter's sad 10+ years of upbringing through military discipline as soon as possible. The beginnings of conflicts between mother & daughter. Both mother & daughter have a grudge with 2nd aunt, who raised CSS to be unruly. We met Yang Yang in Episode 2. She is older cousin, daughter of 2nd brother & 2nd sister-in-law/CSS' 2nd aunt. Meanwhile LBY has completed investigation of the grand-uncle and has moved his investigation to the person identified by the grand-uncle.
Jul '22 Warming up to Leo's character -- Love Lusi! She never disappoints... waiting to see who shines besides her and Leo... At first I wasn't going to watch because I loved Leo in TLB with Reba -- glad I did... completed first 12 episodes in a day & a half... couldn't turn it off.

Tho the Aunt is irritating as of course the script calls for, the actress who played this role did an awesome job. Sadly, she left by episode 4 and not sure if will reappear again in any future episode. Again, as I have said in previous episode review, the angst between mother & daughter pretty much the center of the story here. Female lead’s life decisions will be reliant on her emotions towards her mother. Story clearly shows they are affected by each other’s decisions but the story is not giving them a break and I doubt it will for a while. I have a feeling how female lead turns out will be in bulk due to how she will react towards her mother.

At least YangYang is ok and help CSS despite her being timid and soft. CSS deserve much better and her character need to be more understood.
