Probably takes the cake for my favourite kbl!

this kbl actually stole my heart I have rewatched it so many times I love the love triangle, I definitely recommend watching this kbl because it definitely will not disappoint,a lot of kbls are only around 8 episodes long so I’m really happy we got a longer one to watch, the OST for this kbl is really good the song SPARK by A.C.E has been stuck in my head all the time because it’s so catchy and the vocals are incredible, and all the actors are so good at their roles, it’s really a 10/10 for me 💕

Surprised at the high rating

I wanted to give this a try given the high rating but I was fairly disappointed. Having seen Love for Love's Sake (currently rated at 8.8), The Eighth Sense (currently rated at 8.1) and To my star 2 (also 8.2), I cannot understand how this is rated at 8.2.

I mostly watched till the end though to see if the show got better and how it would turn out for Shin Woo.

The premise of the story about a fairly awkward high schooler who is attempting to make friends through joining the student council on the advice of his teacher. He ends up in a love triangle between 2 other members of the council. But a lot of elements didn't make sense - where were the other 17 members of the student council? Does Shin Woo's attitude towards Tae Kyung in the beginning really make sense? If he was interested in him, why push him away so hard? I get that they were trying to build a plot but the character portrayal didn't make sense.

I did actually enjoy Tae Kyung's direct and honest character, and his newly discovered love. The scenes of him with Da on in the beginning were cute. But Da on's acting was pretty flat and 2 dimensional. Most of the acting in the show wasn't great. Maybe it was also the weird pacing that also got in the way.

Somewhere in the middle of the series when I was about to drop it, Shin Woo's awkwardness grew on me so I hung on. I felt his sincerity for Tae Kyung, although their relationship seemed rushed at the end. I didn't really feel Tae Kyung's affection for Shin Woo the same why that he was longing for Da on. It was also a fairly short period of time for him to get over his feelings.

Overall, I would suggest skipping it if you're looking for a high school romance. Watch Love for Love's Sake instead.

This show should be called Daon and the Others cause.

I watched this show when Kbls weren't too big and crazy like they are now, and at the time I honestly thought this bl was a solid wholesome high school drama with a cute couple and villians like Daon and that girl who's name I dont recall, but boy was I wrong. A couple of months after my first watch, I decided to watch lom again, surprisingly it felt like i was watching a new show. After paying more attention to the other characters like Namgung and Daon, I came to the conclusion that the writers messed up so much cause, how can a so called villain get more character development than the main ones? Daon is described as this guy who is nothing but a people pleaser, a guy who has a perfect life, since he has money, popularity, and is also the school president so, what could go wrong in his life? So at this point we all know he’s queer and he falls for our main character (who’s the most boring person aliveee), but reality hits when they get outed. Taekyung get’s mad at Daon cause he wanted his time to sort his mind after the whole school that was ruled by him, suddenly saw him as a weird insect walking though those hallways. As a queer person myself, I can’t help but to put myself in daon’s shoes, I am an extroverted, leader, pationate girl who could be called popular, but deep in my heart I know that if my sexuality ever gets out there, everything that I’ve constructed will come to an end. That’s called reality, some people can’t afford to live in those false mentalities that tell us to live our life and don’t care about others, but in the outside world we could get killed. Also, something that people tend to overlook is the fact that Shinwoo preferred to help a guy he just met, giving him advice and offering him a shoulder to lean on, so he wouldn’t feel alone because of his queerness, than to help his fellow student council member AND friend just because he liked a guy he knew nothing about??? WOWWW tysm shinwoo?? i guess? anyways the only good characters are daon and namgung cause they are cunty hot girls. ty for reading xx

The story that rewards knowing who you are

Well, it was entertaining because I had no idea how will the situation turn around that Shin Woo and Tae Kyung stop hating each other. And then if Da On will come around, and if he does how complicated everything will become.

So I was waiting in excitement.

But chemistry disappointed me. And to be honest, none of the characters were particularly well developed -- flat and uninteresting indiviudals. You don't know much about Tae Kyung's background except that he is a loner. You know a bit more about Da On's background, but how much more? And Shin Woo, also zilch. And it is 16 eps x 30min, so I expected a bit more in content? in quality? Also story from beginning to end has no continuity in narrative.

Ultimately, one take away is that the story rewards knowing yourself. Do I like that or not? Well... I am not sure. The story rewarded a genuine and firm partner, and I mean I would choose that one too, but then when do we get to that point? We are all exploring and trying to find ourselves and the question is whether love is to look for someone who already has "found themselves" or we "search for true selves together". I guess Tae Kyung has the right to love who he wants..but it made me think about why this is drama. And how easily it was to let go of the one you "love". Ahh.

It was okay. If you have extra time, watch it, but I do not think it was anything special.

Thanks for reading.

Made me happy, made me laugh, made me anxious

The pace isn't fast, there is only mild unpleasantness, no action and the acting is sometimes short of totally natural...
But...
It is one of the best dramas of this type I've watched for quite a while. I fell in love with it.
I always moan that BL dramas out of S.Korea are not long enough and it feels like the genre isn't taken seriously, but seen as popular and therefore shows should be produced. This changed that completely.
The characters are so likeable and the actors came across as genuine friends.
Their different personalities were realistic, as were the problems some faced.
A lesson in fitting in, being different, learning to be true to ones self, taking responsibility for our own actions, forgiving and mending fences.
The cast fit their roles and I loved them. Lee Sae On played Woo Tae Kyung, so well; a loner by choice, socially awkward, disarmingly honest and (as described in one very funny scene), pretty. He was also strangely confident in who he was and I thought showed courage on several occasions.
I also thought Kang Yoo Seok made Noh Shin Woo into a character whose brusque personality was understood immediately; I liked him and wasn't put off by his behaviour.
In fact every main actor made me feel invested in the characters they portrayed so well.
My personal favourite was Namgoong Shiwoon (Go Woo Jin), whose effervescent, slightly crazy, yet actually mature outlook on things, was the glue that kept their student council group together and helped his friends to develop.
The teacher in charge of the Student Council was a model for real teachers ~ supportive, non-judgemental and frank.
Some might feel that it was too fluffy to seriously portray life in an all boys' school and tackling issues of coming out, being harassed for being gay and online bullying. However, whilst there are extreme cases of that in real life, I also believe it happens on a more low key scale too and those instances shouldn't be ignored or undermined because of it.
I laughed a lot and found scenes that were emotional and heart warming too. I also had no idea who Tae Kyung would choose to be with, until he did.
Would it win awards? No. Could it make you happy you watched? I hope so... it did me.

Best thing I have seen today!!

- This series was the cutest. I cannot get over them. From now on Shinwoo&Taekyung are my favorites now. Two cuties together. It is refreshing against the bad guy x cute guy or strong guy x small guy. No. This is just sweetness.
- OST is one of the best. The ending song is on my spotify favorite now.
- Some says that Shinwoo&Taekyung has no chemistry. But look at their personalities. They have exactly what that thing which describes them. It suits them the most. I love how Shinwoo looks at Taekyung and how Taekuyng loves to tease Shinwoo.
- And also..thank so much it has 16 episodes rather than just 8. I could fully enjoy them. Wish for them in another series <3.
- Namgung was the best friend. He understood his friends so much. His words were exactly what everyone would like to hear. Everyone deserves fries sucha s Namgung.

I want someone to look at me like the way Shinwoo looked at Taekyung

Oh I have to rewatch this soon.

I would 100% rewatch this

What I usually find annoying in bl dramas is that a lot of the time the characters have nothing to them. No specific personality. But in light on me, they all have really well crafted personalities, there are really funny characters, awkward ones, kinda ones and jealous ones. I also like that it includes some homophobia ( I know that may sound bad) because a lot of the time they go out of their way to be un-gender-specific but that just isn't reality. The story feels a lot better and more realistic with that added in.

Finally, it's pretty much a comedy. It's light-hearted and funny

Sighs in Fantastic!

This is not at all a long review.
All I can say is I screamed at my Mac so many times watching this series.
I was rooting for Lee & Choe with everything in me.
I wanted Choe to get his life together and follow his heart.
I wanted Choe to address his "sister-crush"
I wanted Choe to grow a spine and standup for himself.
I wanted Lee to hold on just a little bit longer for Choe.
I was so hopeful towards the last few episodes, but it was not to be.
I could be in the minority on this, but I felt that displayed true chemistry.

Great series all around and great acting.
I recommend and rewatch.

I just can't explain how good this drama is

This drama just got better the more i watched it. The 1st half is kinda more focused on Da On and Tae Kyung and the 2nd half is more focused on Shin Wu and Tae Kyung. This was something new i saw in a drama where the drama is split equally sharing both the lead's story.

I think i pretty much treasured all the characters except Da On and So Hee. So Hee for obvious reasons. She was straight up annoying and Da On cz of his bad decisions if not for his friends the situation could have been way worse. But I'm happy both of them changed and learnt their lesson by the end.

I feel Tae Kyung did thing right thing by choosing shin wu (spoiled myself). No matter how rude he was to TK he was his true self and Da On was well🙃. I loved how they showed 2 guys who were in the same situation deal with love. Both DO and SW were victims of homophobia. SW was someone who stood his ground and even when his friends were bullying him his priority was to protect TK. While TK did the opposite he went into hiding instead. Never worried about TK and ghosted him on top of that. It's never a good choice to go for someone who's nice to everyone like DO. also for the 1st time in a drama i didn't see the typical 2 leads fighting for 1 guy and gives up when 1 of them start dating. Here we saw SW backing off the moment he realized TK liked DO. He tried his best to make his love get his love eventhough it'd mean he wouldn't get his love. Everytime he comforted TK and pushed DO to make a move my heart broke for him. He deserved TK's love. Also i felt TK was more carefree with SW than DO you could see him teasing SW, having fun, happy, sad and angry with him but with DO he was more worried about DO to show all these emotions. I really liked how SW became more expressive by the end of the drama. Damn he was soo cute🥺.

Also we cant forget our cutie Si Un. I love how he was cute, caring, cunning and fun all at the same time. I feel his character which although looked simple was the most complex one. He was the kinda friend who was there for them during their lows. Love how he didn't push any of them to do anything instead just let them make a decision and helped them with it. It was never "go confess ur love or wrongdoings" it was always "don't regret not confessing ur love or wrongdoings". If i were to be in the student council he'd be my choice. I kinda did ship him with so hee for a while cz i felt they had good chemistry but that ship didnt sail.

I feel this drama was made for a season 2 but never had one cz they showed the teacher meet a guy but we didn't get any context about him. Also Si Un giving love advice he got from the teacher. Who did he love and not confess that he regreted? My guess is he likes So Hee but never confessed cz he liked DO. He definitely has a sad back story which we didn't get. My guess is this drama probably has 2 or 3 more seasons. 1 with the teacher's love story, 2nd with Da On finding his love, 3rd Si Un and So Hee love story.

Overall watch it guys it's a really unique and entertaining high-school BL..its gonna keep u hooked. Watch it or you'll regret it. It was soo good that i just realised the drama barely had a kiss scene😆 it had 1 at the end of the last episode.

go girl give us nothing!

i saw edits of this and i was like omggg i gotta watch. NEVER again will i trust tiktok edits again. i kinda liked this at the start, but i wasn't a fan of daon and taekyung as a couple so it was a little boring to watch. they just didn't have much chemistry at all?? like they were just too nice no romantic banter. thats why i liked shinwoo and taekyung, because they had that (sometimes..). but after it took literally the WHOLE series to get over the first couple, there was no time for them!! they developped too quick and it was just bad like there was no romantic scenes at ALL. like how does he liked shinwoo when one minute ago he was talking to daon about how he liked him like its too fast. also the music was so bad like they just repeated the same bad background music over and over again. quality of acting wasn't the best, like there was no chemistry between anyone. if anything i thought there was more between namgoong and sohee like... this was just not enjoyable in general like it was so long too and for what. like its impossible to even like the couples when they have 0 romantic tension scenes. also the final kiss was HORRID.
