Most gentle coming of age BL I’ve seen this year!
I have been a MDL lurker for years and have watched literally hundreds of BLs, but never posted. So it is a true testament to how amazing this show that I’ve come out of my cave to post.I was astounded to see a high school setting done so delicately. A truly excellent director and actors brought the nuances of the story to life - from tiny eye flickers to grimaces to careful observation of each other, I FELT their affection. There was no unnecessary fighting, drama or miscommunication and I was satisfied to see that finally we got a BL plot that was more that just those things.
If you want to feel your heart flutter while watching a gentle slow burn coming of age then please please watch this! I’m usually a fan of the harder BLs but every so often I dabble in the “feelings” type of shows, and with this one you won’t be dissatisfied! ❤️🩹

Lots of emotions, whether sad of joyful ones.
This is one of the best BL I've ever watched. The actors achieve to convey emotions through their eyes. To me the plot is basic but their performance, the music and the atmosphere makes the charm.Carefull SPOIL :
I just cried for the last 20 minutes of the last episode. Just based on the music and the actor's performance understanding their emotions is so easy without talking much. Seeing Tian so sad and disappointed that Sheng leaves the class and knowing the reason why Sheng leaves it shows such a dramatic moment.
I really hope they will announce a season 2

THE BEST BL OF 2024 !
I honestly had zero expectations going into this series.I had not read the story .This was just another drama that popped up on my Netflix feed.But watching the first episode made it clear that it was not your typical BL.
Yes,similar stories have been done countless times before .
But what makes this special is how they delivered that same story .The story telling in this series is just so unique and beautiful.The actors did the most incredible job in bringing those characters to life in an authentic and relatable manner.
As an audience you feel every emotion that the main leads are feeling. You understand his thoughts and you understand his actions .
The characters Jiang tian and Shen wang have a very special bond between them and we get to witness the whole process of formation of that bond .This show is very realistic in its portayal of love. People may label this as "slow burn " but this showcases how love blossoms in real life.
The soundtrack adds another dimension that captures the essence of each scene and amplifies the emotional impact leaving a lasting impression.
Overall, "the on1y one " is a must-watch and exceeded expectations! The entire production team deserves accolades for creating something truly special. Outstanding acting, directing, and storytelling brought the characters to life in a genuinely captivating way. Don't miss out on this incredible series!

There are to many current flashback which add length to the serie.The story is quite captivating and current.
Very good acting from protagonist roles as well as support roles.
There is no solid conclusion and either a special episode or another season to close the matter. There are too many open ends.

Each episode delivers a deep sense of satisfaction, drawing you in more and more. The chemistry, the acting, and the emotional depth all combine to create a truly engaging experience. This is easily one of the best series of 2024, and I can't recommend it enough.

the best bl of 2024
ik it's too soon to say that, but personally? i loved this series so much. i love when the chemistry starts to blossom little by little. the pace of this drama is great, actors make the chemistry look very natural and realistic. their dynamics is silly rather than forced and corny. im very picky when it comes to romance, and trust me you will not regret watching this. i love slow burns so much and i can't stress this enough how well put together the series is.Was this review helpful to you?
A happiness I haven't felt for a long time
I can't find the correct words to describe how incredible this masterpiece is but I'll try to summarize the main points that have caught my attention.First: we do have to emphasize the chemistry between the main leads. I mean, how can they expresso much feelings and love within only 8 episodes that don't contain, almost, any kiss or touch? The actors themselves have done a wonderful job and the script, that derives from a perfect novel, makes it not only possible but also dense! The gazes, the words, everything just suits perfectly good!
Second: Chinese culture knows a lot how to make people cry with the simplest things. Although the topics mentioned here aren't simple in any way, there's so much emotion in every scene. The cenarios, the storyline, the background of each character, their personalities, everything makes you feel how dense their messages are. We can learn a lot of things through each reflection, which (beware) is my dearest element of this show.
This review is really condensed but I hope you see this art yourself. Really, you won't regret it!

It's just so beautiful, it's incredibly heart-fluttering. The characters, the acting, everything is on point. It's been a long time since I've felt this giddy. Their chemistry is amazing. It's so fun to watch them, and even if I watch it over and over, I won't get tired of it. I'm just really head over heels for these two. With each passing episode, I love them even more. So that's it, this series is just so wonderful, even though this series is ongoing. It's really good!

Amazing story and cast
It not only has amazing story but also nice actors i will highly recommend it to others. So if you want something simple and nice and easy go bl drama then it is for you guys. I liked it very much. It was slow-burn, but slow-burn romance it was not
Only watched 6 episodes and FF the remaining at 3x speed. Initially I liked the story because of awesome cinematography and good acting by the leads, not to mention I am a sucker for a good step brother romance story. However, the plot meandered too much because of all the side characters and plots. I can't really tell if the leads are attracted to each other or just affectionate and heal each other's trauma. There was a kiss scene but it was too premature and didnt feel right. It was not a kiss of love, but rather a kiss to make a point. The ending didnt satisfy me either and I am left just as confused as I was in the beginning. Heard season 2 isnt happening, so I won't be recommending this show to anyone.Was this review helpful to you?
