I'm soo disappointed
I was wondering why it has a low rating when this is a Joo Won film. For me, he is an actor who knows how to act and he always do a good job. I watch it with excitement as the trailer looks promising, but then, I was disappointed.Acting wise, they did a good job, I mean the SoKor actors/actress; they didn't disappoint but then the "foreign" actors, are all obviously were "acting". They look so fake and struggling with their roles which is kinda frustrating. The fight scenes were convincing, especially the bloody/gore scenes. The blood itself looks real. But I have a problem with the CG/effects used. It looks sooo fake! Also, scenes were sooo unconvincing and ridiculous! I just can't with it. It looks meh for me. I was laughing and cursing while watching it because it was absurd and too far fetch! It's ridiculous, especially the helicopter scene. 😭😭😭
There are a lot of things that needed explanation but they didn't do it. Really! what a waste! They could have done a better job. Sorry! I'm just ranting! I'm just too disappointed. 😭😭😭

Had a lot of potential w good cast
But poorly executed in many ways possible and ending is basically a sucker no matter how Netflix tries to sugar coat it saying it’s up to the viewer’s imagination, it’s quite flabbergasting. My mother who’s a die hard fan of action movies couldn’t watch it for long bc of its bad filmography, she left after a few mins bc watching it made her dizzy🤣 and she watches Jackie chan, Jet Li, Bruce Lee, James Bond, Shah Rukh Khan and etc nonstop. Was this review helpful to you?

THE NON STOP ACTION SCENES
okay this is my first time giving review here. if you want to watch for an action movie that doesn't focus on the story, watch it. it's worth your time. but if you focus more for the story just leave. 2 hours full of action, but dayum, those are sooooo good. im not fans of action genre, but this movie kept me to watch it till the end.the camera works is helllaaaa gooood, like SOOO GOOD SO CRAZY WOW, and joowon acting 👨🍳💋 (+ he's so tallll and handsome as heeeellll)
the minus from this movie is the cgi in some scene is so bad, it looks like carter was fighting in a game lmao

Don't watch if you're motion sensitive
OK, starting off, I didn't know Korean dramas existed until the summer of 2020. Since then I've been hooked on Korean dramas. Since most of the dramas I've seen were truly enjoyable I thought I would give the Korean movies a try. I've seen a handful and only liked one...one out of the maybe 6 or 7 that I've seen since the summer of 2020.Being dismayed at the majority of what I watched I went back to the dramas.
While browsing on Netflix, this came across as one of the top ten movies being watched on Netflix. When I saw 'explosive' and 'Asian action' I had to watch. I am a action movie buff and will watch anything that has 'action' in it.
When it started it warned of nudity, gore, violence, and strobe lighting. I wrinkled my forehead when I saw 'nudity'. I've never seen any Korean dramas or movies that had nudity in it. This was my first and hopefully will be my last. I don't know why there was a nudity scene in this. It didn't make any sense.
Now about the movie. You get a partial naked guy lying in a bed who have no memory of who he is and then discovers he's lying in a blood soaked bed. There was no shock value to that at all. It then cuts to a phone video of him kidnapping a doctor. That scenario gets lost immediately because it never get into what the video was about.
After that it's fight or flight and that's how it was throughout the whole movie.
Now I'm not a fan of zombie anything but I stuck it out.
The 'action' scenes were unbelievable and I don't mean that in a good way. From jumping from moving cars, moving trucks, moving buses, a moving train, and moving helicopters it becomes a hysterical laugh. There's too much of that going on. Then the helicopter scene where the ML can flip the helicopter to where he's behind another helicopter....sounds like a kid's fantasy of make believe. Plus no matter where this guy tried to run he was always found. When it comes to trying to find a fugitive in a large country it's impossible to do unless they do something stupid. This guy never got a chance to hide because he was always being found. Didn't understand how he was found in the middle of the woods either.
There's too much winding, turning, spinning...I didn't know how bad all of that motion was until I stood up. It affected me. So right now my head is swimming a little and I feel a bit nauseous. They also weren't kidding about the strobe lighting.
The part that really made me mad that I wasted 2 hours and 14 minutes was the ending. It was like this guy couldn't catch a break.
Sorry for the long winded review. It's just that Korean movies to me miss the mark a lot! I believe I'm done trying to find a good Korean movie. It's like fate: it'll never happen.

This movie was so surreal... and wacky lol
Ngl I seriously didn't know what I was expecting lol I thought the plot would be simple but lol there so much twist... also wtf that cliffhanger ending? To be fair... the initial plot seemed promising but since there's too many wild attempts to capture Hana by every single opposing party that seemed to have gone mad, it felt like the punchline never arrive. Just when you thought there would be a happy outcome once Carter completed his mission, there goes the cliffhanger end that make us question whether or not Jung and Carter's family survived...
But seriously though, the movie did do well in portraying a world where people go mad after having a portion of the population got infected with a crazy virus, with one side fights to find a cure and another plots to take advantage of the virus for their own benefit. It's kinda like Busan but not really because the 'zombies' in Carter wasn't quite like the usual undead zombies once infected and it's possible to get cured if you managed to get the vaccine administered quick enough. But dangit... those 'zombies' can use guns and stuff lol, and instead of eating people they just mindlessly attack people. Still, since those infectees are still quite alive, they're not as scary as the usual undead ones and can be shot down if worse wome to worst and they'll stay dead.
Gotta say that the cinematography and cameraworks in this movie was pretty wild it felt like watching a continuous RE gameplay and can get pretty disorienting at times. The stunt work was crazy too and while there's a lot of CGI action being mixed in as well, at times you really can't tell which was which. Smh I wonder if the initial nude scenes at the opening part was really necessary because as much as I wanted to enjoy the action... the nudity was just...uncomfortable. Kinda like the fanservice fight in K-1. Oh yeah... the gore scenes were crazy too.
Not really fond of some of the choices of background tracks esp the ones that had lots of cymbals and brass instruments that always made me think of scenes involving shamans and stuff like why?
Not really sure what to think of this movie. Like on one end whoa... Joo Won doing more action unlike what he's done before! Yet the plot din seem to have a proper conclusion and poor Hana to kept being tossed around just because she was the human cure for the virus and ppl are losing their minds to 'own' her.

Holy cow what was that?!
I went from this looks ok to nope i dont like it to oh maybe I'll continue watching to this is weird to I hate this filming to I love this filming. I dont think I've ever been so all over the place watching a show! I still am not sure. I will have to watch it again just to wrap my head around it all!One thing i know for sure is it is A LOT of violence, blood, some gore. I actually turned my head a couple of times. I wasn't prepared for all of it.
There was some really intriguing filming. Especially the parts where it felt more like a video game. I loved that! The CGI at times was questionable and obvious but if you can just watch a show to watch it for the ride it isn't too bad. The english speaking actors were not the best but i feel that way most of the time there are english speaking actors in a foreign film. It always seems out of place to me most of the time.
If you are the type of person who picks movies apart and are critical you definately need to skip this one. But if you can just enjoy the ride you might enjoy it. Like i said earlier i will be rewatching just to enjoy the diferent filming styles along the way!

Awful plot, interesting if dizzying camera work
The director was given a huge budget but he still couldn't hire decent American actors 🥲 I had to force myself to keep watching from the naked fight scene onwards and I really regret it. The story was so bloated with every plot point used in previous blockbuster thrillers that it started to feel like a parody at some point. Camera work was fun but the action scenes got old fast. I found myself wishing the movie would hurry up and end. "Just let the zombies take over, I'm tired of watching this." Overall a genuinely disappointing movie. Was this review helpful to you?

Absolutely non-stop over the top action.
This film has absolutely no claim to veracity whatsoever. We aren't sure who the enemies are (well, seem to be everybody), nor who the hero is - okay, it's obviously Joo Won ie Carter, but who is HE? Even he doesn't know cause he's lost his memory. There's a bit of play with that - he could be two different guys apparently, & this is never resolved as the film sets up the sequel at the end (where China, not visible in this film, obviously will play a role in the next). The setting is in the near future, where somehow North Korea seems to have opened it's borders. A deadly zombie-like virus is the main threat, but most of the action is NOT zombie fighting, so you really can't call this a zombie film. Instead, our hero, Joo Won, looking mighty fine through out, is tasked with rescuing a little girl who's got the antidote in her blood - and everybody wants her LOL
The action just got me laughing - so over the top ridiculous! The opening scene in the thug bathhouse LOL - not quite as good as The K2 but damned close! The fight while skydiving - better than that Bond scene with Jaws!!!! The way that poor kid is tossed around through out the film just kept my attention, & then another kid gets added to the mix - so crazy :D
This film reminded me forcibly of the 2007 film Shoot Em Up - same ridiculously violent scenes, gorgeous lead (Clive Owen), baby getting manhandled during a rescue, etc LOL Loved that film too!
People who get squeamish, who want character development, or who like logical storylines or reasonable action sequences, this film is NOT for you. Just saying!

Resenha
Olha, esse filme me deixou completamente confusa.
