Mutual grief over the pain suffered by a long-lost friend brings two women together. The story of the comfort women and the horrors they endured is told.

Started watching the episode, but I didn't know that it would be this sad, the old lady who felt guilty because she suggested that newspaper advertisement to her friend to work in a factory in Japan, but instead it was a trap to lure in girls and women for Sexual Slavery, wartime rape, etc. I never knew about this term "Comfort Women" when I searched it on internet it was so depressing like something like this actually existed, it just proves all the more that this is an awful world. I was reading the articles and the thing that was more depressing was that the fucking government had the audacity to deny that this thing never even existed. That's too awful. Having no tomorrow to look forward to, violence, bruises, I can't imagine what they must have endured. Even if they survived such a tragic thing, their own people criticising them, and not accepting them was worse, how much pain they must have been in. I cried so much throughout the episode. The Character Yun-i the old lady 's childhood friend was a sunshine person, cheerful, helping people in need. She sacrificed her life to save the other girls. Cinnamon Roll's past life was mentioned and he was related to this case, he was one of the soldiers who helped those women escape. When the new young reaper met the past people, it was sad. Another user was right that this episode was an educational episode for korean viewers who are unaware of something that was a big issue but not many people knew about.
sadly i know about the Monument of Peace & the comfort women, cause of the ret*rded kick-streamer Jonny Somali - cause of his disgusting behavior in Korea, let alone how he used this girls statue as a prop for his disgusting's antics to get clicks. personally i hope his ass is tossed into jail (for all the crimes he has committed in Korea) & hope he rots there.********************************************************************************************************************************************so even before starting this ep, knew it was gonna be a rough viewing. think from the start of this drama this is where i have balled my eyes out the most (& will admit, that i have been skipping like a MOFO through most of the heavy parts & still...) i couldn't stop crying. very very hard to ignore what was done, let alone how even after the girls/women gained freedom their own people added to their misery. think that was even more depressing & heartbreaking to me.*******************************************************************************************************************************************considering the theme of this drama it aint shocking this issue was addressed, as in this drama is was shown that a lot of Koreans r ignorant on the subject. so this wasn't just a random plot-point to fill an ep - but an educational ep for the (Korean) viewer's.
The cast and crew once again did a fabulous job of projecting such a sensitive topic with ease. Yun I, Lee Jeong Mun and all the other comfort women have been through a lot, and I felt terrible for them. Yun I was such a cheerful soul, and even made Park smile. I was sobbing throughout the episode.
This ep made me do research on the Joseon dynasty. I was also yesterday years old to pronounce Joseon ''choson'' correctly. I like how they included Korean history, the interpretation was well written and well carried by all actors!
there should be a heavy disclaimer before starting the episode!Watching this particular episode was painfully educating to me. I found myself searching the events mentioned and I was surprised and ashamed of the atrocities the human race is capable of committing !The whole drama is doing a great job shedding the light on some dark history that should not be forgotten and gives you the confort of hope at the end of each episode (which I find extremely helpful after becoming an emotional wreck every time)This is an hommage to all those women who fought their battle alone and deserve recognition, appreciation and AN APOLOGY!
This episode shed so much light on the pain that the comfort women had to go through and also provided a happy ending for them to, atleast even through a show, feel at peace.
Never thought I'd be seeing the Spring episode, since Boyun was important in this arc in webtoon and drama didn't have her character. But lo! Boyun appeared in this episode and as much as her character details in webtoon had been changed in drama (as in how she used to be in the RM team prior to being transferred to the Escort team) drama still retain parts of the original Spring plot from webtoon. Seeing how she used to save the girls and stopped some from killing themselves, I guess that explain why she use to be in the RM team in the webtoon. And as much as Junwoong's family background was changed in drama as well, I guess this was the previous life that was mentioned in webtoon on how he used to serve the country in the past life thus the reason in his current life he ended up being born with a silver spoon.Interesting.
This kind of issue regarding historical or present issues gives warning or concern to the people of what had happened. And this episode made me really cry for byun-il being brave to other girls.
amazing story, it made me cry and feel so much pain for what happen to people. still happening. where woman were mistreated and abused. they were seen as nothign.. i love how the story pretray it, including someone past life. can't help but help people
