The Xie family is plagued by bad luck and a curse shows up in blood on the wall of a broken down pavilion. When a fire threatens their lives and property, it's the final straw. The Old Madam consults a Taoist priest on how to combat the curse, and he tells the family they need a mascot. The Old Madam decides it would take the form of the Fourth Daughter, who had grown up outside their compound, but now needs to be welcomed home.

Really liked how they keep the high tension going the whole episode, truly made it a really intriguing introduction to the cast and characters. The plot is solid, and no overly annoying character which is a major point. Also really liked how they potrayed both the leads and their crazy behavior right on the bat ( murder AND arson on the first eps ?!? Now THATS a proper hook😌) very excited to see how this goes, though hopefully they keep this fiery tension between the leads even after they got tgt later on not tame it like a coward. ( Prime example of this is Blossom *cough cough* )👏 Anyway I enjoyed this episode and excited to see the next.

May take some time to understand as to how the events are sequenced especially in Ep:1. but if you focus then the understanding it is easy. It is not a drama that will serve everything on platter for viewer but make viewer actually think which makes this drama even better.

1 The male and female leads meet right from the start—and they’re already giving each other a hard time! Oh my!! ^^ There he is, showing off his villainous side right in front of a beautiful lady.And then… she bites his hand! 🤣The two of them tease and bicker with each other like they already know each other inside out. (( That knowing smile… there’s definitely something behind it. 😏✨))Fun from the very start! ^^ 🥰🩷

Episode 1 — 8/10🗡️This was a really strong first episode. I liked that it established the main mystery immediately without leaving us guessing about why Qingyuan has returned. She wants to clear her mother’s name and take revenge on the Xie family, while Yan Rui is investigating an embezzlement case and clearly keeping his real intentions close to his chest. 🗡️The setup, acting and pacing were all strong, and I’m already enjoying the dynamic between the leads. Having two of my favourite actors in the main roles makes it even better.
