Both movies have a similar feel and trajectory of the plot, with the leads meeting at school, initially seemingly mismatched, and then growing close. Both MLs are trouble makers and FLs have an unstable home life in some way. Both MLs fall first and FLs break their heart, causing the two to separate for some time before an eventual reunion.
