it doesn’t end in an HEA
OK, so I’m all for realistic endings, and not not everything being happy roses but I really do come to the stories to escape life and although I think this was cinematically done really well and gave us a realistic ending it also felt almost like a slap in the face because his friend is a really bad person and she doesn’t get punished at all. The show just ends, and then his mom ships him off because she is also homophobic.I think this has great potential if there would be a season two, and we would get more of an ending.
I didn’t see any of the reviews at first that said it didn’t have a happy ending so I went in thinking that we would get one so it’s my fault for not looking further into the series before starting it
But for anyone who likes their stories they have a happy ending. This does not have it, so I would not start it if you are someone like me.
that being said I love YinWar.

Could have been a classic - Made me a fan though
I must say, at one point I was confused as to why they were so popular. Love Mechanics (2022) gave me a glimpse into it.. their chemistry is so good... but I must applaud the beauty of the Best Story. The last 10 minutes was tragic but so beautifully portrayed by them.. from the insane chemistry to the impressive acting.. they have just officially creeped into my top 5. btw The Best Story is underrated.. if it had more time to flesh out itself it could have been a classicMy Top 5 : Updated - Maxtul/TayNew/MewGulf/OhmFluke/YinWar !!

Truly the best story ❤️
We all have a one sided love story in our life, right? We tried so hard to win over them. Sometimes we just pray to god for them to look at us. This is that story, for all of us. This series will recall our memories. That 1st love, we buried deep inside. I felt the actor's happiness, pain, anger everything. War was living in his role.. great acting. Its a best series to remember the one's we loved long ago. And they have the best ost. It will make you fall in love again. Overall great performance, this is truly a best story❤️Was this review helpful to you?

NOSTALGIC EMOTIONS says "hi"
I admit this series has noticeable BL tropes and cliches but I think they worked. I always thought way better series are disappointingly shorter than average and worst ones. The character of War which is Best puts me in his shoe easily. I was really relating all the things I did for my crush. The nostalgic feeling of having butterflies in your stomach everytime you come across your crush. I relived it in the best way possible.I thought the cinematography for this one has nostalgia and old-school effect attached to it just like The Yearbook and I Told Sunset About You. I love that the setting seemed to happened back in the days were walkmans were everyone's gadgets. I just love the overall feeling of the series. I also want to point out a kinda similar scene of 2gether in some scene in this series: Best playing songs in front of the crowd where Dew watches it just like Sarawat on stage and Tine watches him. I thought the Best's friends who support him to get close to Dew is cute being not homophobic which is a less of a burden. I thought that the actors really played their respective roles very well. The "yearning of attention from your crush" is what really makes me relate to this miniseries.
There are few things I want to talk about that is unsatisfactory: bad bitch trope and homophobic parent. I know these things exist but please for the love of God, I'm begging you to remove bad bitch who always plan to ruin relationship just because they can. One thing about the homophobic mother of Dew who annoys me as the girl. God, I don't even like them.
Apart from those, I commend the OST of this drama, being a chef's kiss. I also thought the plot is rather simple and easy to follow as it is relatable that it made me feel things. In fact, when Dew moved and Best just cried seeing that apparently Dew has feelings for him too which is for me, the reason why this series needs to be longer or have a second season. That cliffhanger made me hope for a season 2. If it plans to have a second one they better deliver.
This one is just one of the best BL that caught my heart strings.

Relatable story.
I liked it a lot! I think most people can relate to this story wich was brougt in a simple concept, but not boring at all.War is such an amazing actor, you can't help but feel whatever he feels. Yin is also a great actor, and the two together are just a match made in heaven.
A story about love, fear, very good friends and bad friends who only act for their own benefits.
The visuals were beautifull, and it has a very beautifull OST.

A heart-warming and emotional series about young love
For a 3-episode series, I went in with little expectation as I knew they would just rush into things and the freedom that a full-length series possess on developing characters will be lost here. But this was surprisingly good. The series gently touched on a lot of topics and I have nothing but appreciation for that successful attempt. The story dives in to the school life of Best, who is secretly in love with a basketball player named Dew but has no courage to talk to him let alone confess his love. Egged on by his friends, he decides to write a love song for him which he gets a chance to perform during the school festival. Dew is enamoured by the performance and rest is history. Or is it?
What starts as a soft and sweet story about secret love, supportive friends and finding the inner strength to not keep it a secret anymore suddenly takes a different turn. Only when you feel that things are looking bright for the 2 main leads reality hits like a truck. Not everything falls in to place because you made a genuine attempt. We see the characters confronting jealousy, self-acceptance, homophobia and family pressure. Will their young love survive all these?
War and Yin did an exemplary job at playing the characters and their chemistry together was undeniably good. The supporting characters aptly shouldered the responsibility of pushing the narrative forward.
In conclusion, this series plays with your heart-strings and you feel a plethora of emotions. If a series about puppy love and strong emotions is right up your alley give this one a watch

THE BEST STORY indeed!!?
"Best"—A Love Story That Hits Different***"Best" may be his name, but life has a funny way of making him feel like anything but that.*
This coming-of-age BL series takes us on a journey through the chaotic, bittersweet, and utterly relatable experience of high school love. Best, a guy who seems to fail at everything, finds himself hopelessly in love with Dew, the school's heartthrob and most sought-after student. With the help of his loyal and sometimes chaotic best friends, Bright and Ray, he embarks on a love agenda that’s as hilarious as it is heartwarming.
What starts as one-sided admiration turns into something more when Best unexpectedly finds himself in the same social circle as Dew—thanks to Dew's best friends, Dave and Tar, and an unplanned (and clueless) involvement in the music club. From awkward interactions to subtle moments of connection, the series builds tension in a way that keeps you hooked, making you root for Best despite all the odds stacked against him.
### **What Makes This Series Special?**
💙 **Realistic and Relatable Storytelling** – Best's journey isn't a smooth ride, and that's what makes it so engaging. His struggles, insecurities, and silent admiration hit close to home, reminding us of our own teenage crushes.
🎸 **The Music Club Dynamic** – The series beautifully integrates music as a medium for growth and bonding. Best joining the club with "no clue" makes for some lighthearted and hilarious moments, but it also serves as a bridge for deeper emotions to surface.
🔥 **Dew's Popularity vs. Best's Underdog Charm** – The contrast between Dew, the seemingly perfect golden boy, and Best, the underdog, adds to the angst and excitement. It’s that classic trope we love—where the one who seems unattainable suddenly becomes a part of the other’s world.
😂 **Friendship Goals: Bright and Ray** – Their support (and occasional interference) makes Best's love agenda all the more entertaining. They’re the kind of friends who’d hype you up even when your plan is *doomed to fail*.
💖 **The Slow Burn & Emotional Payoff** – Every interaction, every glance, and every awkward encounter builds up to moments that make your heart race. This series doesn’t rush things, letting the emotions settle naturally.

**Petition for a Sequel: "Best" After College – Give Us More YinWar!**
The ending leaves us wanting *more*, and I’m 100% behind the petition for a sequel set four years later. Imagine Best and Dew reuniting in college—more mature, with past emotions unresolved yet still lingering. Would their love story finally take flight? Would fate give them a second chance? The thought alone makes my heart ache!
I NEED TO SEE YINWAR CONTINUE THIS STORY. Their chemistry is unmatched, and their portrayal of Best and Dew is just *chef’s kiss*. Seeing them navigate love in a college setting would be everything.
Who else is signing this petition with me? 😆

This Series is Horrible Shit
This is absolutely horrible and useless! Who on earth directed this??? The ending wasn't necessary at all. I hate Dew's mother so fricking much and also the Fern girl who's a bitch for all I know in this series. This series was going good at first but all fell apart with that dumbass ending. This series doesn't even deserve a half star and is just complete bullshit. Don't waste your time watching this junk, try watching "My School President" it's definitely a masterpiece compared to this shit here. Do not recommend this so called "The Best Life" .. its more like "The worst life"Was this review helpful to you?
Real Life Exp.
I know for feeling that's really hurt but trust me, this series reminds me when i'm in High School. I love him since i meet him( and exact same that he is popular among school students ). This series really describe the whole scene that i'd experienced ( but not w/ supported friends ). I love this series so much, it's really nice to see what's reality is( when we in homophobic country, it's suck ) so i really recommend this series to you, seriously, it's one of the best series I've ever watched!!Was this review helpful to you?

That was the most realistic Bl serie
At first I found that series very comforting and cute, I was finally happy that I found a Bl that didn't make me cry my eye balls out but when the third episode started I realized something was wrong but I kept watching and idk if it was the bes or the worse decision of my life. It's very realistic because of the mom not accepting that her son might like man so sends him away to another city. The saddest part is when Dew posts on his story a "Sorry" knowing that Best would see it. It definitely broke my heart. and it's unique because the main couple doesn't have a happy ending like the other ls which makes it reliable to most people who have a crushWas this review helpful to you?
Original visual
Was this review helpful to you?

GOSTEI 🥲
