Don't Call it Mystery

I watch Be reborn first then i watch this. In very first episode it recalls me similiar 'vibe' with Be Reborn. A suspected student end up cooperated with cops in many cases. Both of ML roled by top actor & singer too. Highly recommended

In Gossip the main lead is a journalist and in Mystery to Iunakare the main lead is a college student working with the police, but they're both eccentric characters that help "solve cases" over the course of the drama.

The drama is episodic but there are overarching hints at their backstories.

Even though the plot may not totally similar the vibe is still there. Don't call it mystery was really fun to watch the main character was funny and cute and every case that solved was enjoyable. The journey to the end was really nice. I absolutely recommend this drama. The movie is also a must watch.

If you like a nice compelling, feel-good detective series, this is for you!
Similarities include:

- "Case of the week"-esque episodes
-really fun to guess along
- cool and non-chalant but quirky ML
Mystery to Iunakare does NOT have any romance so if you look for a detective romance this is not it.

Is not a japanese drama but I think you could like it sinse it has all this mystery around and things you should find, so is fun (at least for me) if you like this kind of dramas where you have to solve the mystery.

What this two have in common is that they have police, mstery, they are good, exaiting and they both need a season two. Please give me my season two.

mystery shenanigans. detective plot. great development of plot hahahaah, so like basically der r detectives in both shows. seriously i can't explain anymore, but I'm pretty sure you'll love beyond evil.

First and foremost: IM NOT RECOMMENDING TO LIVE ACTION MOVIE... no. I'm actually recommending the 2016 anime, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (its obviously NOT on this database, so I've settled for this.)
- Both are Japanese pieces of media
- they are both adapted from a manga!
- Both MC's have similiar personalities and attitude...
- Very blunt and uninterested by drama (and people) but somehow manage to be in the center of it all and never be left alone
- both of them are generally uninterested in the concept of love/romance
- Kunou Totonou is really smart/perceptive, while Saiki is VERY powerful and even with such power getting thru day to day life is... HARD.
- Both MC's are students, Saiki is a high school student while Kunou Totonou is a college student
- Idk about most viewers but i really like the comedy in Mystery to Iunakare and lucky for us... Saiki K is a slice of life COMEDY anime!
- they both have a deep love for a certain food... for Saiki its coffee jelly while Kunou Totonou loves curry!
There are probably more similarities but I'll stop ... as for differences:
- Mystery to Iunakare is obviously not an anime, and actually Mystery and Psychological genre so of course the two shows will have different tones/feels (?)
- Mystery to Iunakare is more mature and deals with concepts like dying killing and hostage situations. Nothing too graphic or scary but i can understand why someone would be put off by it.

- Both are investigation dramas involving the police
- The MLs have a very similar personality
- Both MLs are good observer
- In both many scenes are set in university
- Both dramas have some bromance contents

Both main characters use deductive skills to solve mysteries and crimes.
Both main characters are recruited by the police to help them with their investigations.
