I loved how we got to be introduced to main protagonist and his chaotic family. Wang Hedi truly shines in the comedic role. And I loved dynamics in Xu family. Comedy moments are so good

I was surprised how funny this series is. The ML was hilarious but smart. He wasted no time putting his modern world knowledge into use to solve the mystery (that metal sodium exp was genius). I lol at the ML scene outside the prison where he’s trying to guess who his uncle might be. The rest of the family is so dramatically funny as well esp that last scene. Dafeng world is really interesting with so many things to look forward to.It was such an enjoyable first episode that really got me hooked!

Yang Ling to Xu Qi' An real quick. Xu Family is so funny! Xu Qi An have ways to people! Its really a good introduction.

This is officially my No. 1 wuxia drama and one of my top 10 favorite C-dramas of all time! After watching C-dramas for 5 years now, mostly historical and a few wuxia, this one has completely blown me away. Every aspect of it is simply phenomenal. The plot, the characters, the martial arts sequences — it's all so perfectly crafted! I know a drama has truly captivated me when I can’t move on easily after finishing it, and this one? I’m totally speechless. The impact it’s had on me is unreal. It’s not just entertainment; it feels like an experience that I’ll remember for a long time. It's been so long since a drama has left me this completely hooked!

So enjoyable............. funny at the same time, there re good creativity, costumes design, CGI. The music, scene, plots all really good. I think this is a drama made for Dylan Wangs... He is doing an amazing job.

Guardians of the Dafeng begins with an interesting storyline when the time periods move from the modern daily life to a historical drama. I really enjoyed how Yang Ling interacts with his friends at work when they were out for Dinner drinking with his colleagues. The storyline changes from a murder mystery from an astrological time event which returns Xu Qi An into a historical time period. Qi An's knowledge is tested as he solves many different cases and saves his family. It really shows how he uses his detective skills to solve cold cases. The introduction of poetry lines and philosophy also begin to take shape to show how reasoning impacts feelings in their everyday lives. I LOVED watching each episode of this drama. I only wish more episodes could be released each day.

ep 1 doesn't waste much time beating around establishing the main lead . the director uses the work party to showcase the strengths of our lead and immediately leading to the costume part of the drama. Since i haven't read the novel myself , i do not know how the novel handles the transition but using the excuse of him drinking a lot to make drop his guard against it and using his pov for us was nice . But i hoped they would stay with lead an first day whole when finds himself in the new world , all the confusion and anxiety but it brushed of pretty quickly . Other than this pace and establishing the characters and us learning the all power at play in this new world with main lead is handled quite impressively. Usage of comedy and light undertones in the drama helps with the viewer being engaged through out the episode
