大奉打更人 ‧ Drama ‧ 2024 - 2025
It involves a male protagonist who is a modern person and transmigrates to ancient China. There is a mix of genres such as wuxia and comedy. Both are produced by Xinli productions (New Classics Media).

Transmigration - both dramas have modern leads that are transported to ancient China eras, and they use modern knowledge to thrive.

Comedy in both dramas are similar. A lot of focus on family relationships and values of righteousness. With some mystery to keep you on your toes.

Yang Ling, a modern office worker, is transported to the Da Feng Dynasty, where he becomes Xu Qi An, a "copper gong" night watchman. Using his modern knowledge and reasoning, he solves bizarre cases, earning the title of top investigator. In a world of magic, monsters, and court intrigue, he and his companions fight against dark forces to protect justice and the people of Da Feng.

They are both about traveling inside the ??/book.

The mischievous girl, Ling Miao Miao, accidentally enters the mission system of the novel Monster Hunting and becomes a villainous supporting character. To return to the real world, she must complete the system's task—winning over the mysterious and twisted young man, Mu Sheng.

Along the way, they team up with Mu Yao, a member of a monster-hunting family, and Liu Fu Yi, a monster hunter. Together, they fight monsters and level up. As the missions progress, they gradually resolve the animosity between humans and monsters, rewrite the fated ending, and save the world.

Guardians of the Dafeng is like the much more polished version of this ML trope. It's not set in a cultivation world but more wuxia/politics. Both MLs are snarky and use their other-world knowledge to help better their situations.

Guardians has much more politics and slower progression of ML ability but still quite fast-paced. They both have cheats. They both have supporters, although Be Yourself ML is more harem-style so his all are women. I think the only male that helped him sincerely was his father (beyond his friends from his first life).

Two different shows in the same font, but the male lead transmits to a different world, amazing OSTs, both shows have the best comedy to laugh your heart out, and of course, strong main characters in both shows are determined to go their own paths and not allow others to control their fate.

Both dramas involve lots of xuanhuan, both include tons of comedy, there are some more serious issues, the fighting is great, there's some wuxia in each. Both involve a larger main cast and are not just about the main character (though there is a main character).

Good watches for a not-so-serious mood (with promises of more, anyway).

Both balance compelling fantasy action with comedy, especially similar in showing more realistic squabbles between elders.
