It is similar in a way that both protagonist find peace, happiness and love away from the busy and loud city of Seoul.

First part of the Little Forest duology, which has a Korean remake, which also appeared in the recommendations. Just like Summer Strike, Little Forest (Summer/Autumn and Winter/Spring) talks about a young woman who finds herself worn out by life in the city and goes to the countryside to rethink her life.

Both are warm and cozy romantic melodramas. Both have seasons in the title and they actually occur during those seasons. I also suggest watching them in the season they are set in. The female lead in OSN and male lead in SS are librarians. Both male leads are low key and total green flags.

Both are comforting drama! Both female leads struggled to find a new purpose in life. These drama tell viewer that it is okay to take a break from social life and to start again when ever you are ready.

Doctor on the Edge and Summer Strike are similar because both are healing slice-of-life romances centered on characters who leave behind stressful lives and find a fresh start in a quiet coastal community. In Doctor on the Edge, Do Ji-ui relocates to a remote island after a personal setback, while in Summer Strike, Lee Yeo-reum abandons her exhausting city life in search of peace. Both dramas focus on slowing down, reconnecting with oneself, and learning to appreciate the simple moments of everyday life.

Another similarity is their gentle, character-driven romance. Rather than focusing on dramatic conflicts, both stories emphasize emotional healing, personal growth, and the supportive relationships that help the characters move forward. The calm seaside settings, close-knit communities, and comforting atmosphere make both dramas feel warm, reflective, and uplifting as the leads gradually find happiness, purpose, and love.

One ML who had enough of his office work escaped to a beach B&B homestay, where he met the other ML who had actually also lost his life direction. At the homestay, they build deep friendships with each other and with the folks at the homestay, finding their life purpose and direction.

It is an old drama, but has quite some depths within on finding one's life direction, chasing one's dream, and on kinship and friendship, with emotional moments amidst hilarious ones, and plenty of summer vibes. This is probably the Grandmaster of bromance and beach/village healing dramas.

The opening OST rocks as well.

watch this if you really like the small-town/country vibes of this drama. I
It's very chill and relaxing and it does have some other subplots, but it is very slice-of-life focused.
(subplots include some romance and a mystery)

Both Summer Strike and One Million Yen girl involves a young woman moving to a new place in order to search for their identity and live for themselves.
Both have
- Beautiful countryside cinematography
- Slice of Life , peaceful and quiet
- Female lead are both in their early 20's thus delves into problems and thoughts we face at that age

The main difference is One Million Yen girl is a movie. Summer strike is a drama. But if you like this genre of movie/drama, you should definitely check out both.
