Summer Strike

아무것도 하고 싶지 않아 ‧ Drama ‧ 2022
I kno this recommendation is a stretch. no similar genre whatsoever BUT the FL in summer strike has similar personality with the ML in mystic popup bar in my opinion, they both have VERY KIND PERSONALITY even they both hated by many in their own respective drama.

that's what the most attractive thing for me in both of these drama. KIND CHARACTERS eventho they both have quite a shitty life.

Lee Yeo Reum, a young woman with a promising career and a happy relationship, faces a sudden downfall when her mother dies in an accident and her boyfriend breaks up with her. Overwhelmed, she quits her job and retreats to the seaside village of Angok to recover. There, she meets An Dae Beom, a former physics prodigy now working as a librarian after a fall from grace. As they bond, they both seek healing in the quiet of the village, but can "doing nothing" truly help them move forward?

In both shows the leads are socially awkward outcasts. They also idolize their popular love interest.

To the Wonder and Summer Strike follow a similar premise of a young woman working in the city, but due to circumstances now live in the countryside.

Both dramas have a mostly quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Relaxing, therapeutic. A lot of beautiful shots of nature and landscapes.

Both titles have a very similar peaceful and summery vibe with two main characters that are soft spoken, introverted, shy, and so incredibly sweet. MLs behave quite similarly, both taking notice of FL a lot and trying to make sense of her quirks.

Same country vibe when a newbie moves into town and everyone initially rejects them until they later learn to accept and appreciate the newbie.

It's similar in a sense that both the main characters leave their workplaces to be able to give them a space to heal. Though not as melodramatic as Summer Strike, Doctor Slump also has a similar overall message.

Our Beloved Summer and Summer Strike share a quiet, introspective tone that sets them apart from typical fast-paced K-dramas. Both explore themes of healing, self-discovery, and emotional growth through beautifully understated storytelling. With melancholic yet comforting vibes, they focus on characters who feel lost or emotionally drained, slowly finding their way back to themselves or others. The cinematography in both is soft and artful, almost like watching a painting come to life. While OBS dives into love and nostalgia, Summer Strike leans into solitude and peace. If you enjoy slow burns with emotional depth, they’re definitely spiritual cousins.

Both start off with a pretty sad first episode but warm up pretty well with a drama packed full of warmth and life while mixing in some serious bits. Also the romance timeline between the leads follows a similar pattern but switched.

• ml is an infj
• both start being close after one moves in
• both related to a murder case
• ml is accused of the murder case and somewhat related to the victim
• fl is cute (idk how to put it but in both dramas they’re cute ?)
• live in a small town
• i really think if u liked MLL then you’ll like summer strike too, it immediately reminded me of it when i watched it

Both dramas are top-quality slice-of-life dramas. They could be either healing or hurting you by making you face your true self. It's always easier to admit your problem when you realize that you're not the only one feeling that way, in this case, you can see your problem by watching the dynamics between the characters of the drama. The only difference is, no romance in Misaeng.

Both series relates to human interactions, emotions and question the state of not living to the fullest. It shows how one is in line with all other people, and try to be one of them, when they are unhappy and unsatisfied. SS shows how one goes against the direction from others where there is not crowd and find quietness and peace.

Although Lost is set on a high elements of humans existence and its purpose, Summer Strike, strikes on the same projection being less serious on that issue.
