Not Bad

Honestly I was expecting something worse based off the reviews. It doesn't have much of a story but the main couple does grow. Its weird because in this case the main couple was the only reason I watched. Their relationship wasn't a story build up. it was just two people getting to know each other sorta not really. I like that it was simple as long as the ending. The writer didn't make it hard to follow . However the story isn't a full story like I said their was no build up or depth. As a series missing that key concept it wasn't horrible it was watchable.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I LIKE THIS....

This drama had me laughing from the over exaggerated, over the top action scenes. Like I seriously have no idea why I love this drama. I KNOW ITS BAD but yet its good. I really like stories where a partner is super in love with the other ( thats a major weakness of mine ) so I guess thats another reason why I like this plot line. Kamol is so in love with Kim that he would do anything to have him , even if it means keeping him locked up in the house, restricting his freedoms and such ( yeah, its kinda TWISTED but I likey )......as long as this behavior is in dramaland and not the REAL WORLD, am good.

Worth a watch if you don’t mind weird

This is my EXACT thoughts as I was watching it… wtf is this show about 🤷🏻‍♀️ It started as a weird BDSM show to a Mafia twist to obsessed Kamols love for Kim add some weird odd bad guy trick and out of nowhere the bodyguards are having a 3some 😮 cause apparently they are a throuple …. Chuck in some well placed advertising of face cream cleansers and vitamins a kidnapping or 2 yet and you have yourself an awful script
BUT a show you just can’t stop watching somehow the cast managed to make it watchable. I love watching yoon and ton so that’s why I stuck around .. the ending was funny lop (bodyguard) makes a joke and get a snappy reply back from Kamol cracked me up.

The really really weird part (if it could get any weirder) was that Kamol was supposed to be 36 and Kim was supposed to be 25 that’s 11 year age difference ok acceptable sure both grown adults right BUT KOM looks like is in his late 30s and spent WAY to much time time with baiboon who was 15 ( who I think was in love with kom ) pretty sure there was some inappropriate grooming going on 🤮

I dunno why some reviews are very low but to be fact the series is really good. It is more on suspense action series and less drama .. it will give you an excitement and a little bit nervous.. i love the sex scene , but for the kissing scene , need little bit improvement. more passion ..
Plus point that the both main character is goodlooking and hot .. Hoping for them to have more series together...

that would be all .. Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnkkkkkk Yyyyoooouuuuuuuuuu !!!!!!!!!!

A walking green flag mafia?

Naaah. I mean, yes Kamol is a walking green flag. However, his character doesn't look like a mafia. He is more like a very dangerous businessman. If we put it this way, he is a bit more dangerous than Leo in Don't say no.

For those who are wondering though, this serie has a *happy ending*

Now, onto the elements,

Overall Plot:
What I liked about the plot is that there is communication between Kim and Kamol. I think, there is no issue during the entire series that is left unsolved for more than a day. They like to tackle the issue fast and maybe it's because Kamol is so transparent to Kim. Though I didn't like how Kim is a bit like a damsel in distress for getting abducted everytime, I understand that it is because he is a civilian. Also, Kamol being part of the mafia is not too established in the serie. It is more like he is a handler only of businesses. Another thing is that, Unforgotten Night is very funny to me without being comedic. It's like they did the most serious parts funnily? Without being to.

NC Scenes:
They kiss like goldfishes. Their NC scenes are too vanilla. I was expecting a more steamy-like scenes such as kiss marks, etc. because it is advertised in that way. However, in the series, it is more like they kiss and then the next moment they're done. It is heavily censored? Honestly, The Lop threesome is hotter than the main couple. Also, as it is advertised as rough, bdsm kind of story I was really expecting more. But other than the occasional chaining up and the first episode's candle thingy, nothing happened anymore. Honestly, this part is what kind of spoiled my expectations.

Characters:
Okay. Unpopular opinion: Kamol is scarier than Kinn in KinnPorsche. One thing I liked about this serie is how scary Kamol is. He really has that boss kind demeanor amidst that cutesy face. Also his soft? voice sound a lot like Zee in cutiepie. Kim on the other hand is a baby. One of the cutest baby I have ever seen. He is also one of the reasons I keep watching. I love him as Kim and I love how he has a business of his own, how his character is so stupidly kind, and how he can be so sassy at times. A complete contrast to Kamol who is only kind to him and him only. Also, I liked the of languages here, even though Kamol's korean is a bit funny.

Comparison to KinnPorsche?
First of all, a lot of people are not liking this series because they are comparing it to KinnPorsche. However, this is not the kind of series you should watch if you've just finished KinnPorsche because you'll be completely biased. I watched a couple other series more after KinnPorsche before watching this so I suggest you do the same. But if you are wondering, here are some of the differences I have noticed that might make you watch this or not:

- Kamol is more like Korn (Kinn's dad) based on his temperament and how scary he is. Kinn is more like a chaebol for me. But is cooler than Kamol when it comes to fight scenes. Kamol is more like the ordering-boss-cool type kind of character.
- Unforgotten night seems more like a family (close-knit) to me than KinnPorsche, which more like a family of mafia. In Kamol's case, subordinates can make suggestions, and speak up their mind. Also, Kamol tends to rely on his subordinates a lot (trust). In comparison, KinnPorsche has a clear distinction of subordinates and the bosses.
- Kamol is open, proud and doesn't care about anything but Kim. If Kinn and Porsche had to hide their love even though it is so obvious, Kamol on the other hand doesn't care to hide at all. He wants to kiss, hug, and flirt anywhere he wants even in front of his subordinates. Kim is always his priority and I love him for it.
- And yes, the NC scenes are much better at KinnPorsche than this one. There, it is more like lustful love, while at Unforgotten Night, it is more like I-love-you-so-I'll-take-care-of-you kind of vibe. Also, Kamol is so possessive of Kim.
- Lastly, the plot is completely different than KinnPorsche. This serie focuses more on the romance.

Overall, Unforgotten Night is a good watch. Very memorable, but I don't think it is a type that you will rewatch again and again. I suggest readers to watch it. I hope that if they ever make a season 2, there'll be improvement on the love scenes if they still tend to focus on the romance.

Don't compare to Kinn Parsche but it's okfine

I like this series however it has potential that is not being realized.. There were plot holes and the editing could have been better. From the very premise there should have been more heat between the two actors. It didn't have to be R rated or pornish to have heat but there was definitely room for improvement. That being said it is not as good as KinnPorsche but much better than Checkout ( which by the way i wouldn't waste my time watching again.) .
I liked episodes 1-6 then I felt like the series bogged down a little. Episode 10 could have been so much better. I liked episodes 1 , 2 , and 12 the best. Episode 12 saved it from a 6 rating, I would rate Episode 12 an 8.5.
I have continued watching it because I want to see how it ends. There has been some pretty good scenes like the rescue of Kim and "bombs" in episode 6. I liked the rescue in Episode 12. But there were other places were the story seems disjointed and choppy Like in episode 10 I think it would have been much better if they had focused on the vacation and left the scenes with Daniel,Dani And Cherry till the end of the episode or the next episodes. Certainly not inserting the Cherry scene between the shower and bedroom scene with Kamol and Kim. I felt the shower scene with the three bodyguards was totally unnecessary and didn't add to the story. I think it would have been better to work on the shower/bedroom scene with Kamol and Kim which seemed incomplete and pieced together.
I think the writers for Forgotten night don't seem clear on the direction they are going. In episode 1 you have the bedroom scene which is pretty tame for the subject matter addressed, and that was fine they didn't need to have full nakedness with both actors like KinnPorsche did. I think the bedroom scenes was effective the way they did it. where you see the top half naked even though more is implied. For example In episode 4 you see a small kiss in the bedroom and the next morning they wake up in bed together naked. Then in episode 9 you have the scene with Kim taking a shower and Kamol coming up with robe but there was a strategically placed railing that obscured details , that could have been more but they elected not to and that is fine. I like the cleaner romances. Sometimes less is more. then in episode 10 there was two explicit scenes like KinnPorsche that were totally R but the scenes themselves felt like they were missing something./ or were unnecessary.
I will finish watching it but yes it could have been better but I do I like mostly what I have seen..
I felt like episode 12 saved the series for me. In episode 12 I loved the interaction of Kamol and Kim. I could feel how Kamol was torn between work and going after KIm and how Kim was feeling rejected, I felt like the acting was so much better in this episode. I liked the rescue of Kim. I loved how Kim's Father warned Kamol of the difficulties they would face as a couple but accepted them. The parents attitude was realistic and not another cliche. I think the surprise party should have had Kim's parents there. But I loved the happy ending..

how to ruin a promising story?

I finally understood why the series was violently attacked ... The series promoted several unhealthy ideologies and messages towards teenagers:
- a sadistic relationship between a gangster and an accountant, fortunately the scenes are almost devoid of sadism.
- the series juggles dangerously with pedophilia through a love story between a child and an adult man who is the bodyguard of the main protagonist.
- the series shows a wild triple sexual relationship between three guards.
Frankly, I don't understand the purpose of destroying the show to normalize these dangerous teenage acts.

Firstly the main protagonists are too young and do not match at all with the personality of businessmen or mafioso supposed to be mature and dangerous ... secondly the first episodes of the series are very boring, especially since the director has destroyed the romantic night (the basis of the love story), so much it seemed childish, fast and very dull even for an ephemeral love relationship, compared to series of the same type like ( (Vegas and Pete in KinnPorsche)... thirdly, The scenes intimate between the two main protagonists (kim and kamol) are childish and immature to die for ... Finally, the only positive point of the series concerns the main characters on the one hand "kim" with his smirk trying to better than he can evolve with his character, on the other side ''kamol'' impassive, regardless of the emotional demands of the scene he remains frozen without any expression, and I don't know why, but I liked it ( it matched very well, for a mafia sadistic and cold person despite his young age).

But unfortunately, the themes that the series promotes are very dangerous and dirty. (I do not recommend)

Painful to watch almost comedic BL

The whole premise is supposed to be based on a mafia boss falling in love with someone due to their similar sexual preferences, BDSM. However, the single BDSM scene they have looks hilarious and is beginner level. The face of the actors when doing this scene looks ridiculous and doesn't allow you to take it seriously. I literally burst out laughing when I was watching it because it was so cringey.

Characters: The characters lack identity other than the stereotypical characteristics that they are given and their lines lack any depth. This is to the point that the supporting leads (other couple) seem completely unnecessary and the show would basically be the same without their characters. The main leads dont seem to have chemistry on screen and so everything looks forced. I honestly cant tell if the acting is terrible or if its just the script that lacks substance.

Considering the other high quality BLs that are coming out now, I cant help but feel like the director/script writers gave up on the show.

Umm what?

OK I get it it's only the first 4 episodes but where's the mafia part??
Like I didn't read the summary when I started watching this so I just thought that Kamol was just a big businessman who somehow needed bodyguards?

I personally didn't get the "mafia" vibes from anyone, except Evan had some signs of being a mafia member/leader but Kamol? No mafia vibes from him.
(Edit: after completing some mafia related things did happen, but later in it)

The tattoo that Kamol has is quite bad, like who thought that the tattoo would look good especially when he has no other tattoos on his body (that we know of).

(Also did no one notice that one scene where Kims contact lense was moving around or was it just me?)

The BDSM aspect of the series is not really realistic considering neither Kamol nor Kim said anything about a safe word, which is important if a relationship has aspects of BDSM. Also I felt like the consent part was a little bit dubious at some points.

You really cannot compare this series to kinnporsche, like some have, since the budgets are very different and how much time and effort was put into KP.

I'd say that this is not the worst BL, I have watched but it definitely is at the top but I do admit that I have skipped most of the parts in the episodes because of the lack of good dialog and emotions, which makes this series cringey.

But some positives: the side couple(s) is/are kind of cute, storyline was nice

(Edit : I was in the feels when writing this review lololol so mind that)

Watch on the official channel

I think the story of this novel is quite interesting. While watching the series, even though in episode 1 it was quite awkward, in subsequent episodes it began to develop well. The storyline is also getting more interesting. The packaging of the storyline is also epic, not too many adult elements, more romantic and wise. There's a scene in the later episodes that gets a lot of criticism for the lack of chemistry during the kiss scene, but for me it was just the beginning of a relationship. Kamol doesn't want to push Kim too far, he wants to try slowly because Kamol knows he has pushed Kim a lot. I feel more like it includes a romantic scene, a thin kiss that makes the heart melt. I suggest you guys keep watching because the more episodes the more fun, you won't be bored.

A Hot Mess

Let's be honest, this is some of the most vanilla kink you're going to see (and Kamala needs to learn how to flog someone properly).

The acting is okay at best but the worst actor is sadly Yoon. The writing is awful so I can't blame You alone for why his depiction lacks so badly.

Kim can be pretty adorable. He's also often pretty dumb and should stand up for himself either more or differently than he does. He's not actually a doormat so I give him credit there.

The best couple gets the least screentime: Day & Itt (I had to repeatedly make sure this wasn't connected to Love Syndrome). Though the surprise throuple was fun.

The sweetest couple is honestly Khom and Baiboon even though they aren't technically a couple. And it makes me super uncomfortable how clearly attracted they both are given Baiboon is, as far as I can tella minor.

This series has the most inept gangsters. Terrible writing & a fair bit of terrible acting to go with it. Instalove on the most ridiculous basis. Supposedly kinky sex that's really just handcuffs after that first disasterous flogging (which makes Kamol's obsession with Kim even less believable for anyone who is even vaguely not vanilla). Tigers that I'm pretty sure we're sedated the whole time. Convoluted conflict. It is a HOT MESS (emphasis on mess).

So why did I keep watching it?

Itt's nephew Salmon and his dynamic with everyone he comes into contact with. Itt & Day. Baiboon! My previous boy Baiboon who is adorable and dumb. Kim & Baiboon's relationship. Hope of a couple people getting mauled (they don't, the tigers deserve better anyway). The weird car crash effect in full swing.

Is it good? No. Is it entertaining? Yes if your expectations are adjusted appropriately. Would I rewatch it? No. But did I have fun? Yes. And now I want to hug Kim and Baiboon. They're so squishable.

SO BAD ITS GOOD

The acting, story, music, production value all a little low but someone you are still drawn to this show. I love toxic, possessive, messy male leads so I’m sure that was the appeal, along with the good looking cast. I also love that Kim makes him want to be a better person, the whole your love transforms me from bad boy to good LOL. I was rooting for Kamol and Kim the whole way through. I’ve watched this show 3-4 times, it’s a great filler for when I’m waiting for a new BL. My one true pet peeve was the tacky limo that Kamol went around in, so funny.
