a powerhouse duo in the thriller of the year

the writing thrives on unpredictability. what starts as a standard murder mystery quickly evolves into a complex web of deception. the "twist after twist" structure isn't just for shock value; it forces the audience to constantly re-evaluate every character's motives. if you enjoy stories that keep you guessing until the final frame, this is a must-watch.

the heart of the drama lies in the unexpected alliance between the leads:
doyeon (an yunsu), provides a grounded perspective that anchors the show's chaos.
goeun (mo-eun), delivers a standout performance. she subverts the "psycho killer" trope by revealing a deeply layered, tragic backstory that shifts the audience's perspective from fear to empathy.
their chemistry and eventual teamwork to catch the true killer provide the emotional satisfaction needed to balance the dark themes.

beyond the thrills, the drama explores the heavy toll of grief. the subplot involving yunsu—and her struggle to survive and find justice after the death of her husband—adds a layer of "human" pain to the high-stakes mystery. it reminds the viewer that behind every "twist," there are lives being ruined.

This drama is an absolute masterpiece.

This drama was absolutely beautiful. Pure work of art. I loved every single episode, every moment. The acting was beyond incredible. Kim Go-Eun in particular did not disappoint whatsoever. I loved seeing her on screen as this character. This is one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched. It was cinematic, beautifully filmed, I felt like I was feeling the characters’ emotions. Everyone did an incredible job. The plot twists were intriguing, unexpected, unpredictable. The mysteries just have you guessing and questioning everything. Editing, SFX, the music, makeup, directing. It was all perfect. I loved this drama from start to finish and would happily rewatch multiple times. 10/10.

Amazing series with spectacular acting with unique plot twist.

The Price of Confession is one of those rare dramas that completely takes over your mind and refuses to let go. The storytelling is bold, emotional, and beautifully layered, and every episode pulls you deeper into the characters’ lives. The acting is phenomenal every glance, every silence, every breakdown feels painfully real.

Spoilers ahead: Mo Eun’s death absolutely shattered me. Even though the story hints at tragedy, I kept hoping she’d find a way out. Watching her fight so hard, only to lose everything in the end, made the final episodes hit even harder. And the heartbreaking part is knowing that even if she had survived, the world was still ready to drag her back into jail. That level of emotional weight is what makes this series unforgettable.

The pacing is tight, the twists are shocking without ever feeling cheap, and the emotional tension never lets up. I finished it in just a few days because every episode left me needing answers. It’s powerful, beautifully acted drama that stays with you long after the credits roll.

Worth the "price"!

This was phenomenal. From acting alone, this deserves all the stars! You will never be shortchanged if the series has Kim Go Eun. And with Jeon Do Yeon in the lead too, this was a masterful artwork in acting. There is no boring episode. Each episode in the series had me biting my nails and clutching my heart. Such a good suspenseful show that will definitely keep you thinking and guessing all the way to the end. It is only 12 episodes so it is a quick watch, something you can definitely bingewatch while on sick bed (like I did). Definitely worth it.

A Master Piece Of Suspense

Price of confession 10/10 12 eps
This K-drama completely drew me in. I felt like I was living in its world, thinking about it constantly. I would fall asleep reflecting on the episodes and go to school wondering what would happen next. The characters were so well thought of and never did anything that didn’t suit them, they were so realistic and there were times I felt like their actions were going to affect me overall showing how I was so invested in this k-drama. and the whole entire aspect and dynamics of this show was amazing. The acting was on point, it made my skin crawl, definitely felt eerie in some ways. They all thought an yunsu murdered her husband and her life started to tumble. This kept me so engaged I could not stop watching, this k-drama did everything it was supposed to do for the viewer, a psychological k-drama where they twist what actually happens and makes you mad realizing you know that wasn’t the truth making me way more invested in it. This show got my heart beating and made me completely stressed out in a good way. I absolutely love that in the beginning it had 2 perspectives on what yunsu did, one being she killed him, and the other she didn’t kill him. But at the end we found out who did it, who ruined her life. And it all made sense and formed perfectly and by the end it formed like a puzzle piece it was so satisfying to watch it all unravel. In the beginning I was highly thinking of jumping to the end to see who had done it but it would have completely ruined the experience and I would have missed so many clues and ideas. In each episode I had high emotion, lots of thoughts, pure terror in my head, heart beating it was intense and so interesting I rated all the episodes above a 7 which really shows this had no boring episodes which I started to rate it a 10 when it was nearing the end, which shows that this show didn’t stretch out the plot and make it extremely boring they made it so interesting and made me so invested it was crazy this might be my favorite crime/mystery k-drama out there that I have seen so far. I will truly miss watching this show but now I will think about this for the rest of my life. This really changed my world. It was so good and well thought, the plot was amazing. I would rewatch it if I lost my memory.

Korean Thriller/Crime Genre at its finest

Story, acting, directing, characters, ending....all perfect.

The story quickly pulls you in within the first few minutes of episode 1 and it keeps you hooked until the last second of the finale, with a well-woven story that covers different themes; thriller/suspense, crime investigation, imprisonment, revenge and psychological. Each theme is highly well written, with a perfectly balanced pace and immaculate writing that provides ample mysteries and cliffhangers to keep the viewer on the edge of his seat at all times. The drama is highly bingeable so good thing I only enjoyed it after it completed airing.

The Acting was top notch by all the cast, I was particularly mind-blown by the 2 Female lead duo, their performance is accolade-worthy, with the slightest of facial expressions and gaze speaking volumes. Kim Go-Eun above all takes the cake here, boy oh boy did she manage to freak us out, leave one with shivers running down the spine, feel her pain and sorrow, fear her and pity her at the exact same time. you could be watching her just laying back gazing at the sky through a hole in the prison yard shades, and you feel like you can see her inner feelings through her gaze. Then to see how that daydreaming gaze switches to apprehension and animosity within seconds; that was a feast for the eyes.

I also really appreciated how both characters were written, and while their development arcs especially Mo Eun's might have had some blank parts lacking details but I respect the writers choice to leave the intricate details up to the imagination of the viewer. And despite both female leads being at opposite ends personality, conscience and nerve-wise, to see how their relationship shifted and enjoy their moments together on screen, It had been a while since I enjoyed such a relationship dynamic so well crafted.

If I had any trouble with the plot or the story writing it would be really small gripes not worth fretting over; for example the final motive behind her husband's murder was surprisingly lacking, I was expecting the motive behind his murder would be romantic, financial or to keep him quite from exposing someone's crimes like fraud or embezzlement. But I chose to convince myself that choosing that motive was to show how mentally unstable individuals could be not just driven to commit murder for such flimsy motives, but even worse chose to commit further crimes to cover up their tracks.

Another point that I would have appreciated had this drama steered clear from, is the writing turning to the miraculous capturing of the moment a crime is being committed or a person is incriminating themselves. I hate it when the main plot's mystery is solved thanks to a lost video or recording that managed to capture the significant moment to indict or acquit someone.
The first murder lacked such evidence, and we were told forensic evidence was tampered with by the perpetrator (only to find out police had tunnel vision and did not do a proper job gathering evidence). As for the second murder I believed they could have easily chosen to prove her innocence by one of several means; 1) proving he was still alive and well after she had left the murder scene, thanks to his interactions with his gaming friends , 2) Using the fact that he was gaming both chatting and talking with his friends and was actually shown to have stated he had met her and lived.
I know it is not a major thing, and many a drama chose to easily opt for the non-deniable easy evidence in the form of perfectly timed and positioned captured media, but precisely because as a viewer who had been appreciating the masterful writing of this drama such as the autopsy scene mentioning freezing the body hindered accurate determination of the Time of death but the state of digestion of food in his body suggested death happened 2 hours after consumption, you can say I was a lit bit annoyed when none of these clues were used.

Still all things considered, I really enjoyed this drama and loved the intense suspenseful mood it provided, and the deep and rich characters and their relationship dynamics.
To sum up, this is a drama I would strongly recommend to anyone, especially crime/investigation/psychological thriller fans. Give it a watch

The suspense, the mystery! Must watch!

This was a great thriller/mystery drama. Flowers to Kim Go Eun on her role and everyone else. Acting was good.
I loved how to the story unfolded and I wasnt even thinking they had something to do with An Yun Su’s husband.
Baek Dong Hun had all right to be like that because evidence were pointing to her.
I dont want to give out any spoilers but go watch!

Can’t stop watching Kim Go-Eun

This was an excellent thriller. There were so many questions during the show, and I finished it in 2 days. I constantly wondered if An Yun was the killer, and later, I wondered why Mo Eun wanted to kill the son. ( These questions are answered in flashbcks. ) I was constantly yelling at the tv. “Don’t you understand that all of your actions are being monitored? Why would you go to the dentists’s house w your monitor on? CCTVs are everywhere? wearing a cap can’t disguise all that hair!” I was shocked when the killers were revealed. I’m watching it again to find some things I missed. Don’t miss this one.

A Heart-Pounding Thriller That Never Lets Up

If you are looking for a drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat from the very first minute, this is it. I was absolutely hooked from the beginning and ended up binge-watching the whole thing because I just couldn't stop.

The best part about this show is how it maintains its intensity. Often, dramas lose steam halfway through, but this one kept the pressure high until the very end. The writers did an incredible job with the "whodoneit" aspect—the reveal of the killer was saved for the final stretch, and I honestly couldn't guess who it was. They managed to keep the mystery hidden without making it too obvious, which is so rare these days.

Kim Go-eun proves once again why she is one of the best in the industry. Her acting was nothing short of brilliant. She portrayed the nuances and emotions of her role so perfectly that you can’t help but feel every moment of the tension alongside her. She truly carried the emotional weight of the story.

This is masterclass in how to pace a thriller. Between the unpredictable plot twists and the powerhouse acting, it’s a must-watch for anyone who loves a good mystery. My heart was racing the entire time!

Finished this and it was amazing! I originally started watching just for my crush, Lee Ha-yul, but the plot completely hooked me from the start. Now I totally get why the ratings are so high—the storytelling is top-tier. A definite must-watch for anyone looking for a great story! It is so worth it.

This show is flying way too far under the radar!!

This show is so good! I loved how much it messed with your brain and question who was guilty and who was innocent. They had the perfect amount of red haring's that made you question everything while still giving you enough information where you weren't completely lost. It had great twists and turns and loved the ending too! Always love seeing Park Hae Soo as well, so I was very happy to see him in this!

A Gripping Psychological Thriller That Never Lets Go

Wow, I was completely hooked from the very first episode to the final moment. The Price of Confession is one of those rare dramas where not a single minute feels wasted. The pacing is tight, the tension never drops, and every episode leaves you wanting more.

The two female leads are absolutely outstanding. Their performances are powerful, layered, and magnetic, carrying the entire series with emotional depth and quiet intensity. Watching their dynamic unfold is both thrilling and unsettling in the best way. Every look, every line, and every silence feels deliberate and meaningful.

This drama delivers everything a top tier psychological thriller should. Suspense that keeps you on edge, mystery that constantly shifts your assumptions, the fear of being wrongly accused, and chilling mind games that crawl under your skin. The atmosphere is dark and gripping, yet never confusing or overdone.

What truly elevates this show is how smart and confident it is. It trusts the audience, challenges your judgment, and makes you question what truth really means. By the end, it leaves a lasting impact that stays with you long after the screen fades to black.

A flawless, exhilarating watch and an easy 10 out of 10.
