Rage, Revenge, and Women
2025 really feels like the year of female rage in K-dramas. Between Nine Puzzles, Karma, Queen Mantis, As You Stood By, and now The Price of Confession, we’re getting stories centered on complex women, anger, revenge, and survival. The Price of Confession is a worthy addition and truly does the genre justice.I loved how unwavering the focus was on the two women. The show never drifted. Everything, the narrative, the tension, the emotional core, was rooted in them, and it made the entire drama feel intimate and purposeful.
The story opens with a wedding and immediately cuts to a death, a brilliant contrast that sets the tone. The first half of the drama was especially strong. Kim Go-Eun as the psychopath and Jeon Do-Yeon as the potential husband-killer? Absolutely gripping. The writing kept the mystery alive well past the halfway mark. Even then, you’re still wondering who actually killed the husband. The uncertainty between the two leads was deliciously suspenseful.
What I also loved was how the women start off as nothing to each other and somehow become each other’s protector. They aren’t perfect, far from it. They’re just human, flawed, emotional, hurting, surviving.
The acting was incredible. Jeon Do-Yeon nails that quirky, eccentric, naïve-but-bold vibe. But for me, the drama belongs to Kim Go-Eun. The actress she is. She is exceptional here, cruel, calculating, intelligent, but also strangely empathetic. Completely believable as a psychopath, and equally believable as a grieving sister who has lost everything she ever loved. Her presence had a quiet intensity that shaped every scene she was in.
And the men? They were essentially decorative, and I loved that. They assist, they interfere, they try to fix things, but the narrative never stops being about the women. Not even for a second. Not gonna deny that Park Hae-Soo was amazing in his role, but at the end of the day, it’s the women I’ll remember this show for.
The drama does have its flaws. The reveal of the lawyer being behind the killings fell flat for me. We’re not invested enough in him for the twist to really land. The grandfather’s revenge arc also felt unnecessary, and several side characters, like the FL’s friends and parts of the police team, did not add much to the story.
The first half was just so strong that the drop in intensity in the second half becomes noticeable.
I honestly thought at one point that Jeon Do-Yeon’s character was going to be revealed as the mastermind behind everything. They didn’t go that route, but the ending we got felt fitting and satisfying.
Mo Eun killing the lawyer and then herself was the perfect conclusion for her arc. A woman who once had so much life and love, who lost everything, who became a murderer, who destroyed herself along the way, it felt like the only ending where she could finally have peace. Even though she killed truly evil people, the show does not let her escape the consequences of her actions.
And Yun-su in Thailand, starting fresh while still honouring Mo-Eun, was the right emotional closing note. It felt like the show was letting us close the book too.
A flawed but powerful drama, carried by phenomenal performances and anchored by two unforgettable women.

So good that it made a kdrama-watcher out of my dad!
A complete surprise gem. We came across this show by accident, one day and we were so intrigued we decided to watch the whole thing. What a thrilling, standout show it was. Good cast, great atmospheric build-up, and a plot worth staying tuned for.This was a great drama that awakens feelings of anger, justice, and revenge in your heart and delivers a satisfying end for it all too.
The show follows artist/mother/wife, Yun Su, whose life is turned upside down after she finds her husband murdered in his studio. The level of injustice that the police and the defense attorney exact against this poor woman is so severe that a serial killer offers to help her get away with the murder that she probably didn't commit. Still, there is a price to pay for it.
So good. The suspense is one thing. The sense of Han that it sparks in your heart is a whole other story. And then, everything with Kim Go Eun's character, Mo Eun, is a whole other thing, as well! I love a good morally grey woman. In any capacity. She just needs to be written well, you know? But it's so hard to find one. The writers are either too timid or too eager when writing women and they just ruin them. But this show was perfect. Focused mainly on these two women, their struggles, their baggage, and how they literally have no one but themselves to crawl out of the dirt, I finally got a show that truly gave women the justice they deserved.
The acting was also amazing. Across the board. The protagonists and antagonists alike. But Kim Go Eun really outperformed herself. She's one of the best and most diverse actresses I see out there who truly embodies a new personality in every show/movie. It's not just picking different and good scripts, she works to deliver as well. Jeon Do Yeon was also amazing. She has this nervous energy in the entire story that makes her character not feel like a character but an actual person.
I don't remember the music. Which is good. It must not have been annoying!
The production was great too. You know it's good when you don't notice the effort. Just everything looks and feels natural.
I don't know how to properly compliment this show. It was just such a great watch. We couldn't look away, and it was so good my dad who never wants to watch Kdramas was glued to the screen too! Great drama! Go watch it!

Must watch for sure
I've not seen such a good Kdrama for a long time now. plot development was so perfectly put, We've been treated for sure, also Kim goeun never fails to deliver character perfectly, every little detail. Her and Jeon do yeon were really a powerful duo for this series. Ass for vibes, it was really hooking, engaging, I had to binge watch it was so intense and good. A Heart-Pounding Thriller That Never Lets Up
If you are looking for a drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat from the very first minute, this is it. I was absolutely hooked from the beginning and ended up binge-watching the whole thing because I just couldn't stop.
The best part about this show is how it maintains its intensity. Often, dramas lose steam halfway through, but this one kept the pressure high until the very end. The writers did an incredible job with the "whodoneit" aspect—the reveal of the killer was saved for the final stretch, and I honestly couldn't guess who it was. They managed to keep the mystery hidden without making it too obvious, which is so rare these days.
Kim Go-eun proves once again why she is one of the best in the industry. Her acting was nothing short of brilliant. She portrayed the nuances and emotions of her role so perfectly that you can’t help but feel every moment of the tension alongside her. She truly carried the emotional weight of the story.
This is masterclass in how to pace a thriller. Between the unpredictable plot twists and the powerhouse acting, it’s a must-watch for anyone who loves a good mystery. My heart was racing the entire time!

Started good and got even better
This is a drama that starts off pretty strong only to get better as each episode passes by... While some of the twists are more predictable than others the build up is doen really well. For each twist revealed another question is risen. Why, who, how, wait what, how, who.... As well as anger oh so much anger towards so many people it is almost ridiculous. ANd While I admit most of the story was really great there are som parts towards the end that fell a bit flat, taking away a star from. the total score.There are a few things that I do want to focus a bit extra on, but since I fear it might spoil it for you Ill put it as a comment.
The acting is great, the characters are interesting (mostly) there are a few plot wholes here and there (or at least things that do not make sense to me) and while there are a few annoying characters their screen time is limited enough for me not to be bothered by them.
For those of you who read my reviews and know I some times watch dramas with my husband, I started this on my own but decided to take a break to let him catch up so we could watch it together. once that was done we finished the last 8 episodes between between Friday evening to lunchtime on Saturday. So it is highly bingeable.
Hubby says it started off goof and only got better an 8,5 from him (a really high score).

Brilliant Plot, Breathtaking Tension
The drama stayed true to its plot from beginning to end, and it was absolutely breathtaking to watch. The characters were well-crafted, and even as someone who watches a lot of thriller K-dramas, I struggled to figure out who the killer was. I genuinely couldn’t guess the culprit until the very end. The writer did an impressive job overall, but I still rated it an 8.5 because the killer’s motive felt a bit weak. The reason behind the murders didn’t seem strong enough, and I believe the writer could have developed a more compelling justification for it.Was this review helpful to you?

Best acting by Kim Go-eun and Jeon Do-yeon. Their performances carried the entire drama.But the ending was disappointing because there was no punishment for the real creator of all the crimes. The prosecutor got away with destroying an innocent widow’s life. He ordered people around and everyone blindly followed him. Life was unrealistically easy for that idiot prosecutor — even his boss followed his commands — and after failing so miserably, he faced zero consequences. They talked about resignation, but no one actually resigned; they only pretended.
I give this drama 9/10, but I deduct points for the poor character writing of the prosecutor and the fact that he faced no consequences for his actions. He let that old bastard run free — hit a cop, stab an inmate, kidnap a child — while he stayed obsessed with catching an innocent woman and framing her as a criminal. I always suspected him as the main culprit because his behavior fit the role more than anyone else.
And in reality, corruption isn’t only about taking bribes. There is also corruption through abuse of power, framing innocent people, manipulating evidence, and ignoring proper investigation. What this prosecutor did fits terms like malicious prosecution, abuse of authority, wrongful prosecution, and prosecutorial misconduct. He acted like an incompetent, negligent, and bias-driven prosecutor who showed tunnel vision, confirmation bias, and willful ignorance. Even after being exposed, he tried to defend himself and continued targeting the innocent woman until the end.
This lack of consequences for him is the biggest flaw of the drama.

This show is flying way too far under the radar!!
This show is so good! I loved how much it messed with your brain and question who was guilty and who was innocent. They had the perfect amount of red haring's that made you question everything while still giving you enough information where you weren't completely lost. It had great twists and turns and loved the ending too! Always love seeing Park Hae Soo as well, so I was very happy to see him in this!Was this review helpful to you?

Can’t stop watching Kim Go-Eun
This was an excellent thriller. There were so many questions during the show, and I finished it in 2 days. I constantly wondered if An Yun was the killer, and later, I wondered why Mo Eun wanted to kill the son. ( These questions are answered in flashbcks. ) I was constantly yelling at the tv. “Don’t you understand that all of your actions are being monitored? Why would you go to the dentists’s house w your monitor on? CCTVs are everywhere? wearing a cap can’t disguise all that hair!” I was shocked when the killers were revealed. Kim Go Eun gives a commendable performance
This drama keeps you hooked from the very first episode till the last, with it's strong storyline and multiple twists. The plot is dark as well as emotional at times.The story moves in a good pace and keeps us guessing who's the real culprit behind everything. While some twists were predictable, the build-up was still pretty well done. And while I admit most of the story was really great the final 2 episodes were loaded with too much subplots, that even though the ending was satisfactory, it was not totally brilliant.
The acting of both the leads were amazing, especially Kim Go Eun. Her eyes itself expressed every grief and trauma she went through in her past, yet she stands fearless and emotionless. Her versatile acting catalogue is already stacked with some brilliant performances.
The writing was sharp and the characters were well-written, although you might observe few loopholes in the first half of the drama. The BGM fits well with the atmosphere and genre of the drama.
Nonetheless, The Price Of Confession is a strong mystery thriller drama that is worth a watch, especially for the fans of crime thrillers.
