Squid game served in new plate
What is happening with stories this day? After time travel, we got a psychological thriller served on an old plate.
The first point about the plot is it is extremely predictable. Right from that point losers from all corners came around and agreed to start living in a place that would pay them off if they fulfilled their condition reminded me of the uniformed gunmen. Then as episodes grew, similarities gained more attention than dissimilarities. Nothing was out of the box...
After surviving all the controversies in his love life, Ryu Jun Yeol is back on screen. He is debt-ridden Ji Soo who dreams of becoming rich after surviving third place. Se Ra, Philip, Kin Yang, and others joining in the journey did their best but the story disappointed. Woo Hee, and Jeong Min as subordinates in this thriller piece stood out in their shoes. But what can characters do when it is the story that betrays them from the beginning,
Writers are sadly concocting stories that we have already seen in a different light. The plot seemingly borrowed from The Squid Game often tires out. However, if you are a big fan of thrillers, then this story can be your weekend time pass. Watch the journey of eight strangers living in a house together till the second installment of Squid Game comes over.

Eternal and forever ♾️ - a brutal expose of humanity that crosses time, culture and geography
This was one hell of a loaded series ... it painful and frustrating to watch ... I didn't like it at all, but I have to admit that it was "brutally and in your face " profound. It reminded me a lot of some stuff I have read around the Stanford Prison experiment and other experiments that were documented in Philip Zimbardo's book "The Lucifer Effect - why good people go bad". It was hard going watching this series ... I stopped several times but finished off the final 5 episodes today. I am shattered.
I thought the actors did an absolutely brilliant job ... No. 3 says in the last episode that no one would believe what happened during the time of the game ... but that is total BS ... it was a brutal expose of humanity ... their greed, their stupidity, their ego, their delusions, their schemes, their vices, the 'kindness' that 'kills' ... it was all on display, up front and centre ... and the characters were acted so well ... I could not remain neutral about them at all.
Their lack of self-awareness was highly frustrating ... they didn't learn anything except to further degenerate and degenerate in diabolical ways. The sad thing is, these types of characters, these types of behaviours are not fictional, I have met real people just like the characters from No1 to No 8 ... everything they did, everything they were, I have seen it in real life ... and see it in real life ... and that is why I hated the series ... because it nailed humanity in all its ugliness and delusion ... and yet gave no solutions ... "move forward in hope" it said in the last episode ... "hope" ... what a load of crock ...
The thing that made me laugh in bitter irony was the number 8 turning into ♾️ (infinity) ... how profound ... Buddha said "all life is suffering" ... and isn't it just ... endless suffering over and over ... lives come and lives go ... but the suffering and the 'game play' has stayed the same ... no matter where you are, or what time you live in ... it is the same old game over and over again.
Oh well ... brutal, depressing and profound ... if you are into psychology, it might be worth a rewatch but I wouldn't rewatch it myself ... I see too much of that kind of behaviour in real life.
I remember some of the music and it was nice but it really was overshadowed into insignificance by the sheer diabolical brutality on show.

what a beautiful production
the series has a beautiful production (as the title of this reviews says lol) it was the first thing that caught my attention! it's really, really good and one of the things that made me recommend this.besides, i didn't know any of the actors but wow, they are all amazing!! they mande an incredible performance, really!
ost too is really really nice to hear
but story.....it started well and ended up badly. i was expecting so much more honestly.
like, how the freak 1 jumped so damn high until he reached the freaking ceiling??!! LOL. plus, i know he was desperately trying to get his money back, but, c'mon, he had a kid, i don't think he would go so far, cause if he died (as he did), he wouldn't be able to help her with money...and everything he did would be thrown in the trash! (as it happened unfortunately)
furthermore, i was expecting that 6 would take revenge for what 5 did to him 🤣, he just simply accepted? and i thought the players would be friends as well...after passing through so many together. (6 and 8 are not welcome of course lol).
it would be cool if it showed 8 destroying the museum and getting arrested! and how life went for everyone after the show, cause like, we created a bond with the characters and can't even see how they ended up..??
but as the post credits scenes shows, maybe we can get a season 2. i hope so.

MY GOD (lots of squid game mention)
This show was actually so, so, so entertaining. I watched this after finishing Squid Game season 2, so you could imagine me craving more. This show SCRATCHED that itch for squid games, but I wouldn't particularly say it's a squid game dupe, no, I say they have many similarities, but definitely show different meanings. The concept that the higher your level, the more you earn, defines a view on classes. A pyramid, if you will. And it shows how brutal money makes people. I mean shit, at the end of it, it was literal torture among others to get a life you wanted ( as long as you kept the higher ups entertained). It's way for gruesome than Squid Game, given the fact that no one dies and they are constantly being swapped between the lower class being tortured and the higher class being tortured until the highest just tortures them all. It goes more in-depth on how it's psychologically messing up these people more than how much they will do to win or to live normally after. It's so realistic, it's almost sickening to think that this is how people would most likely be if this were a real thing.I definitely would say this is harder to rewatch than Squid Game's, since its such an acid trip to watch a game of cat and mouse between these characters.
SORRY FOT SHORT REVIEW, IM SLEEPYYYYY (also, this is so underrated, wtfff!!!)

INTERISTING
It's a series that have a particular message not all will understand it or will love it but it was good .The genre :-
the genres are quite true . It is really thriller a mix between bloody and Psychological thriller but i think it shuoldn't be watched if you are not Appropriate psychological state and in the mood for it you know what i mean . i think there is a funny moments too so there is some comedy or dark comedy somehow . there is a lot of torture so suit yourself .
The story :-
It's quite new for me it's somehow have a little squid game vibes . Liked that it's really simier to society's selfish behavior like a small sample of society's development in a reallly fast term . Really impressive actually and in my opinion there is Projection in it .
The cast :-
Chun Woo Hee : she is phenomenal WERE HAVE SHE BEEEEN ALL THIS TIME
she is like Seo Yea-ji . her acting is really flawless . If I hadn't seen her acting in The Atypical Family , I would have thought she can be crazy anytime soon or she is really some kind of a freak in real life .
Ryu Jun Yeol : he was actually good even if i don't like him but i really felt bad for him .
for the rest there is none who couldn't deliver there role well.
but overall it's good but i have some notes :-
1 - it have inappropriate scenes .
2 - the end or the last 10 minutes ruined it for me .
3 - the Directing was uniqeue .Did not expect it . good idea .
4 - there are few plot twists . verry good actually but you can expected .
5 - it's a series you must watched acually once in your life .
That's all and sorry for my bad english .

I really didn't like this, but...
This drama was odd. It was essentially a fictionalized and more psychotic version of the Stanford Prison Experiment from the 1970s. The fact that the ringleader was in many ways a sociopath from the very beginning was definitely a recipe for disaster - and an interesting spin on the tale of what happens to ordinary people when they get unlimited wealth and power. I had a few small problems with the storyline - it was never entirely clear to me how 4th floor became a part of the elite since she was from a lower floor, and I think it would have been better if each episode had began with explaining how each person came to accepting this offer as was done for 3rd floor in the first episode. When there was finally more revealed in episode 8 it came a little late for understanding the motivations of characters in the previous ones. Still, interesting plot idea, and excellent acting from a very small cast. What I did not like, however, is that there were a couple of episodes that were essentially nothing but torture p0rn - it wasn't a psychological thriller or mystery, it was just large quantities of extreme violence portrayed in a way that I felt was excessive and beyond serving the plot. Showing it continuously took the sadism far beyond using it for shock value, and in my opinion was detrimental to telling the story. That doesn't make it a bad show, it was simply not to my taste.

disturbing
*This is my personal opinion! You are entitled to have your own. :)*this show was horrific. im not shitting on the show though. the storyline and plot was good it's just it was so sadistic and disturbing so it was hard for me to get through. the first 1-4 episodes had me hooked. From episodes 5 onwards, it almost became unwatchable because of how sadistic it is. i guess this just isn't my type of thing as im more into romcoms. still, this show i know would be enjoyable for some which is why i'm giving it a 8, purely based on the storyline.
in this show, the characters aren't addressed by their real names, they're just called by the floor they own. for example, the show starts off from third floor's perspective. there's 8 characters, hence the name of this drama. 1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor, 4th floor, 5th floor, 6th floor, 7th floor, and 8th floor. in the first few episodes, i hated 6th the most because he's just so aggressive. he was beating them so extremely. which is what i found disturbing. and he was a total suck up to 8th. then, i hated 1 because he started becoming annoying and not letting them finish the show which ended up leading to his death. also i found it quite obvious that number 1 was the one increasing the time towards the end by pulling out 6th's toenails and 4ths tooth.
and my personal opinion on 8th changed. at first i found her to be stuck up and a snob, but then she showed some of her true colours. she's actually quite smart but who knows. she ended up in prison at the end anyway. i think the actress who played 8th did a fantastic job, i think it would've been hard to play such a strange character as 8th.
OVERALL:
i give it a 8 because it has a good storyline and i didn't skip any parts of any of the episodes. it's just not my sort of show lmao. anyway i'm still glad i watched it. and just as a reminder, this is my own opinion and you can have your own too! you may rate this show as a 10 or a 1, but that's completely up to you!
so if you do watch this,i hope you enjoy it :)

good if you are bored
overall, I enjoyed this!! it had a good story to it going of the general “debt” backstory of 8 individuals, the concept of there behaviour changing under extreme conditions emotionally was what really had me in. I found myself getting to episode 3-4 and watching it continuously untill episode 8!on that note, the only bad points I could perhaps give is the acting in some respect, the facial expressions can be just off at certain points of the show and sometimes they do not match. as well as this there may be moments where I was confused on where the story was at the moment due to the jump in the future/a hallucination an actor may see, sometimes this isn’t shown clearly when this is the case untill something completely obvious happens otherwise.
I have written a lot for the negatives however both points are very minor and I would recommend giving this show a watch at least once at some point if you are bored :))

I enjoyed this alot and binge-watched in one sitting till my eyes dried up~
oo RECOGNIZED ACTORS ooFirst, let's start with the 'Wacko' played by Chun Woo-hee! Her acting was amazing! I just watched "The Atypical Family" before this, so seeing her play a more sexy role was shocking! Then the ML was played by Ryu Jun Yeol as 'Number 3' The Last time I saw him, he was in 'Lucky Romance' years back! This is his comeback with TV shows! Welcome back!
oo SIMILARITY WITH CONCEPTS oo
It's similar to Squid Game regarding winning money by playing games that possibly result in death but besides those things that's all they have in common. I wish to see more Korean Thrillers with those concepts because in Japanese shows there's bout damn near 100+ 'Death games'. I can list a few!
Alice In The Borderland
As The GODS Will
Liar Game
Battle Royale
and ETC.
So I don't really see the issue with this being similar to Squid game. It's not like they took this bar from bar.
oo IN CONCLUSION oo
Moving on this got dark real quick and the intro started to sound more disturbing once I reached episodes 7 and 8! It was really odd for me to like a character then hate but then like them again! That's how I felt strongly with Number 2 and Number 8! I inspire to get athletic like Number 2, she knows how to kick some ass!
Would totally recommend this show as a refresher if you have finished watching something close to this or something that's far from this genre!

A bit too much for me…
Shortly: I think this show has a cool premise but kind of falls flat. The first few episodes really hook you in. But when the show goes on it starts getting just more and more violent and graphic and severe (I understand the point of that in the eyes of the storytelling of course) but at that point there was more graphic violence than plot. And yes, it is uncomfortable to watch.
The actors do a really solid job tho. (shout out to my goat Chu Wonhee)

Liked Squid Game? Then gotta WATCH THIS!!
I just randomly started this drama seeing the protagonist from Atypical family. BUT DAMNNNN Totally did not expect the transition of her acting. The plot was really unpredictable and New. It made me wondering if people with money can really achieve anything in this world just for their timepass. The drama made me hooked up, i literally watched all the 8 episodes continuously. I know i know but it made me really curious of whats goi g to happen next, or will the oppressed people be able to stand up in a society. The stairs typically symbolizes the rich, middle class and the poor. It gives kinda squid game and Alice in borderland vibes. I suggested this drama to my sis and she finished it in one whole night. The cruel depiction of abuse and blood is something that u have to endure, if you are planning to watch.
