Where did this rate come from!

I literally can't understand the reason why this show is so high rated and why ppl put it on their "best till now 2025 bls" lists. It's below mid levels. And not bc of acting skills (I'm not gonna shame the actors. They had a great chemistry), but bc of the scenario. There's zero plot. Every ep was boring with no suspense for what comes next. We got a series on a series? Why should we get long dialogs from what they were shooting? At some point I double checked if I'm watching a Chinese or a Thai show. I waited more after all this noise about it. But unfortunately I got really disappointed.

Also the music choice wasn't ideal many times. Its the first time in my life I listen to someone play a monotonous piano melody while im watching a spicy scene. It was so blund. Didn't give any extra feeling to the scene. And what happened to their hairstylist? Both of them, especially Jin, couldn't see with their hair on their eyes the whole time!

And if the rating is a result of the spicy scenes only, be so for real yall! It's not worth it THAT much.

What happened to hello!

Be prepared for raw scenes. Thats basically corn. If it was longer, had more eps and the plot didnt end so quickly it could be more interesting. The potential is there. I feel like they could turn it into a small drama. But no! They just basically served us everything into one go. I was shocked in how quickly they have us everything in just 12 mins, which was basically one scene, and then ended it.

THE PLOT TWISTS

What kind of plot twists are these. I'm obsessed! I couldn't predict most of the things that happened. And that's the reason why this series is a "must watch". All actors played so well their role. The toxicity is so subtle and loud at the same time. This isn't just a love triangle. It's way beyond. And written in a very nice way. In each ep I was screaming to my screen to finally choose the colleague and escape the whole friend zone environment. The trauma Da On had to deal with bc of his "friends/crushes" actions is enormous. He needs peace in life and to finally be happy with no such big concerns. He deserves someone who's kind, honest and caring and not THAT possessive and crazy (giving a side eye to the characters). Glad we got a nice closure in only 8 eps with a full developed story! Shout out to the whole team that created this series and captured so nicely all the emotions.

Deserves a higher rating!

Its one of the rare times where the s2 is better than the s1. There were strong and weak moments. So let me break down the reasons why i think its underrated.

PLOT

Till the middle of ep 9 the series was fire. The plot was plotting. The scenes were intense, cute and full of heartbreaks for both CharlieBabe and AlanJeff. We had suspense. The "bad guy" of the story was good with trying to steal Babe. I really enjoyed the fact that Babe and Charlie reversed their "roles" somehow. We saw a jealous Charlie that also stood on his level and tried to protect his pride despite all his love for Babe. Babe on the other hand was the one chasing this time and showed his most affectionate side and how much he loved Charlie and didn't wanna lose him. The fact that he started to also use the terms papa/mama meant that he finally took Charlie seriously and he wanted him as his forever partner. At some point I was screaming to the screen to give Babe a break over all the heartbreaks. His relationship with Charlie faced many obstacles.

The whole Tony drama with the special powers at some point was confusing and tiring. I thought we were over that on s1 but nooo. They wanted to make it the main story again after we started strong with a different trope adding the character on Willy. There was no clear reason why Tony tried to manipulate Babe and Charlie. We just mostly assume. The return of Way as Chris was useless. He provided zero knowledge to the story and as a researcher didnt come up with any of the solutions and "what ifs". We barely saw any plot based on the car races. They mostly focused on the special alphas trope and thats a bit sad. And thats where the show lost some points. I mean, while on s1 we were constantly on the garage this time we were placed on the "other" side of Babes house (felt like an open house tour), on Pete's house and a little on the lab.

ACTING

The chemistry between PoohPavel was immaculous at this season. Not that it didn't exist on s1, but this time was on next level. Pavel was so good on his crying scenes. Pooh was amazing with how he depicted his lust and love while trying to contain all these feelings and act cold. Although we didn't get many nc scenes this time between them, they did a great job on their cute moments and all the fights (and their kisses).

ENDING

Although the wedding scene was cute, I think that if they ended it during the memory regain it would've been also perfect. And what kind of jumpscare was that during the end with the face of Tony! Either way, the show deserves a higher rating.

WHY SO SLOW

It literally took me almost a year to complete it. I was getting bored with how slow paced it was and that we didn't get that many info in each ep. I liked the plot. It was interesting but didnt hook me up. The whole "obsessed" ex gf thing gave me the ick. Let the man enjoy his peace when he has already moved on! I know that she wanted to give a closure about the past. But why not talk it earlier and let the whole convo drag so long. It was sad for both of them. As for the FML the way she treated him on the last eps was not fair. Brooo, just talk! With whatever way you have. Just talk it out. Dont be like "i didnt wanna fight through texts". Wdym? Thats how you can talk to each other aside from sign language. Thats your own prob in your head. I understand she found it hard to communicate and keep up with being in silence, but express it somehow to the other person. I feel like it could be shorter. At least the duration of the eps. I almost dropped it a few times but it would've been unfair. Overall, I feel it is a little overated. It could've been handled as an idea a little better.

Potential for more!

Such a cute story. It clearly has potential to become a full series. I'd love to watch more of their past and how their feelings grew up for each other. Ofc bring some drama into the whole story to spice it up. But pls I need more of this! It can turn into a great bl with so many emotions and moments. Also the actors have chemistry. Cant waste this couple.

So underrated, worths more!

This is the 2nd kdrama I've watched where Ji Chang Wook is the main character and I loved it as well. It was so full of intense feelings. He can reflect all the pain/happiness etc so good and the rest of the cast had the same energy (+their chemistry) which was ideal.

As for the plot, firstly this type of documentary/interview was so unique compared to other dramas. All this "everyone's possible to be connected" scenario is so realistic. You never know who you'll meet or if your paths will cross each others again. The uncompleted (summer) love is the second realistic case. Ppl suppress their feelings often, are feared to express or trust their heart and sometimes the timing is so wrong.

The ring situation reminds me of a very personal experience and it broke my heart. I knew exactly how she felt and why she had it saved.

As for the other two couples the first one is based on a slow burn/"waiting for you till the right moment" which is so innocent and cute (I'm so jealous over that) and the second couple broke up bc the fem character doesn't believe in a boy/girl friendship. Which is sad. There are genuine friendships out there between both genders and ppl still don't believe in them. The couple clearly didn't communicate it correctly to understand each other's side and perhaps try to solve this situation or any other possible prob rather than break up.

Overall, it was an enjoyable series. Perhaps it could've been a little more short but its still really good and more ppl should recognize its value. This isnt the rating it deserves!!!

Where to begin... The good parts. The actors were full of emotions. You could feel the pain or love eith your whole heart. The romance was cute on its special way. The age gap wasn't talked or pointed out that much so that it would steal the light. I think that it was also important that different daily scenes of the society were shown. For example the SH of the main fem leader on the work environment or the status stereotypes inside a family that still exist.

On the other side now. The slow burn tired me fr so much. I think that 12 eps would've been enough to complete the whole story. The mother made me yell on my screen many time and pause the ep to stop my rage and understand this aspect of culture.
The couple had many communication probs. They wouldn't discuss the important issues. Like how can they say to each other to be by their side when they don't share their inner thoughts at all. That's absurd! A big WHY was written in my face all the time of how they both acted.
As for the fem leader, she overstepped many times on the personal life of her bf (and behind his back) and just said an "I'm sorry, I made a mistake again it won't happen again". Uhm why would it happen on the first place! Why not think about the feelings of your partner above something.

Considering everything though, this series was both enjoyable and a little tiring. I liked that they made peace with their feelings and ended together. I melted with the cuteness and the chemistry they had. I'm not a person that rewatches series but if I was I wouldn't do it. Once is enough.

Way too overrated

Even though at first I liked the plot of the time travel, mid season the whole idea somehow changed (not the time travel factor but the story). Why on earth out of nowhere change the story so much? I thought it'd be a sad romantic story where the fem lead didn't have the time to save him or express her feelings and relive all this dramatic end. What was that? And isn't like one of the main rules that noone can come back to life? But nevermind everything. Ep 13 was the complete mood killer. Why was everyone so chill with the killer? In which universe is that a normal reaction when you already experienced all these. What kind of story is that! I was about to give it a 7 but after that no. Although the ending was cute (after all they got to get through), i still skipped many parts and felt like the show was never ending.

I have no hate over the actors. They did good for the experience they had. But whoever wrote that, I feel like they got stuck and couldn't handle the idea they had on first place. Also the 16 eps are way too many for this plot.

I need to stop crying!

What can I say about this drama. It's amazing from every side that you see it. I've cried so much almost in every ep. The feelings of each story were expressed were so loud (a big thanks to all actors for that). Their love made me shutter each time. Perhaps it is bc of some personal experience that got me affected even more. I tried everytime to focus on the series and stop recalling my past. So let's start from somewhere.

What in the Voldemort type obsession was that of Bang Eun Joo with Sam-dal? What kind of person acts so slyly. In the end the truth comes to surface. Dishonest ppl lose their power. Especially when you base your whole life/career on the achievements/ideas of someone else. So toxic to try to manipulate ppls feelings for your success.

Main characters love story is amazing. The detail with the red string theory melted me. Their feelings never shut down for each other. The respect they showed for each others family had me speechless. They put aside their relationship to keep their parents happy. Even if they were hurting every single moment. And they showed with all means that it wasn't just a teenage love. It was their whole life. They were meant to be together and that's it. They faced way to many unfortunate levels, but in the end their love helped them surpass all of them. I'm jealous of their love. I'm jealous of the way they look each other or how considerate they are. Even after years they still know the other person better than their own self and that's true love, that's caring.

The mothers story is heartbreaking. Their bond was so special and Sam-dals mother will never forgive herself till the day she dies. The pain and memory will hunt her forever and won't let her feel in peace. The guilt can't be overwatched. She'll be her forever platonic other half. The consistent hate of Yong-pils father towards Ms. Ko hides to much depression bc he never found the way to move on. The moment he finally accepted the past and made peace with Sam-dals family showed that deep down his hate wasn't in reality hate but pain.

The big 5 friendship is also so strong. They all protect each other, protecting a little more their only female friend of the group like shes their princess. Even though they haven't been in touch for years, they acted like not even a day has passed since they last spoken. And that's true friendship.

Lastly, the small somehow village society reminds me of my own neighborhood and village. Everyone knows everything. Even if you tried to hide, you can't bc there are eyes everywhere. The rumors and news spread quickly. The only way to escape this circle is for you to abandon this place and move out. Like the characters tried to do to persuade their dreams. Not everyone succeeds, but not everyone fails. Some will come back, some will continue their lives somewhere else but that doesn't change the fact that this place will be their forever home (if their lives there were good and not full of drama and toxicity).

Summer love and nature

What an amazing series. The lust of a summer love which history lasted for years combined with the waiting till the feelings get mature enough to realize that its mutual was so beautifully pictured. I loved that Xiao Zhi was straightforward and not afraid to show his feelings. He knew who he was and what he wants in contrast with Chen Li who was unsure. The scenery, the nature, sounds and colors were so beautiful and magical. They passed the vibe of the summer in a village/mountain area, which is a free and quiet period living in the moment, while every day that passes means it will end sooner than planned. And thats the critical point of summer love stories. Will they last when the winter comes or will they stay as unfulfilled? Lastly, it gave me some "Call me by your name" vibes the whole time.

Highchool cringeness

PLOT

I've no idea how I didn't drop it after the 1st ep. Everything was getting on my nerves. But then I reconsidered the environment and the characters ages. I realized that it portraits high schoolers with love life drama. They try to follow the trends and be relevant with everything. Their ego is so high and their feelings make a party in their bodies every second. That's why it becomes so easily cringe. But I couldn't oversee it. Why was everyone chasing each other's tail to become a forced couple. I understand that they have crushes and they try to make them jealous all the time but at some point you should move on. There's a constant circle of who likes who. They're always on stand by, holding their hearts and getting broken. It's sad how long they can last on hold but also so surprising with how patient they can become. I'm a little confused on the way they flirt but that's bc I'm passed that age and can't relate that much anymore. Not that strange though bc we have experienced this social media connected love life in a different version.

CHARACTERS

Fou4mod and Chian were constantly getting on my nerves. This whole drama lasted 2 years between them? Took them so long to figure out their true feelings? Especially Chian that was taking for granded Fou4mod. And then we have Baa and Bua. Baa treated Bua unfairly. He messed up with his confidence. Criticized his look bc he couldn't admit his feelings when he clearly had developed for him. But he was in denial. He tried to stand by the choice of liking Fou4mod but failed. Everyone was taking the other person for granted and putting them on hold, just so that they won't be left alone. Losing their friends was a huge deal for them. I'm glad they figured out their true feelings and expressed without any more fear their minds.

The definition of unfinished love story

My heart needs time to recover from this show. The story is amazing. The scenes are so beautifully written even during the sad times. The unspoken chemistry of the main leaders is incredible. All this pain and love bottled up in a few episodes destroyed me. It really shows that strong love exists. And sometimes it ends with a harsh way and with so many unanswered questions. And that hurts the most. I understand Beni a lot. Being alone on a new country away from your family, friends and whole life is really difficult. The loneliness hits hard sometimes and all you need is to drop everything and go back. Trying to work out stuff, staying silent or focusing on something creates a kind of routine where you forget what's really important. And that's what happened to the couple. But this unconditional love that never got the closure it deserved will always break my heart. I'm so glad they both mastered up their courage and spoke.

NO NEED FOR S3

PLOT

I still don't understand the decision over a s3. Was it to show a university environment? If so it wasn't needed at all. The plot is the same. Again with a love triangle where clearly the main female character isn't interested romantically to someone else except her bf/ex bf.

I feel sad over Hyun Ho that was constantly choosing her and his only motive for his life was her. He was let down from every adult around him and criticized when he literally tried his best to change academically. So he based his willingness on one person. About Yeon Doo I'm glad she matured enough to deal on her own with unfair ppl. Although she needs to work on expressing what's bothering her on the relationship.

SIDE COUPLES

Everything was predictable. Sorry to say that but I couldn't feel the chemistry between the side couples. I think that they could invest more to the side stories by showing more intimacy between them characters. Being friends with others their affection was way better. They were a good group of friends.

I need a S3!

PLOT

It may not be as strong as the first season, but still pretty amazing. The length of each season is ideal based on the ep duration. The plot is interesting. The progress and maturing between co workers relationships it's so obvious. The pushing aside their ego to support a reason and give justice to the unfair system is such a strong connection. All the bullying environment is so emotional and sad, that I was questioning myself "what would've I done if I had witnessed anything disturbing with my eyes".

ACTING

The whole crew is so good. But I have to point out Jung Hae In's performance. His serious face and the ability to play an action drama except of romance proves how he can adapt completely to each occasion. Also his bro chemistry with Koo Kyo Hwan was outstanding. Wish I see more of them together in the future.

S3?

Based on our main character, he has one more year till his dismissal from the army. As he said, the story just started, so I hope that they will continue it and show more internal fights of contrasting army's ignorance and avoidance of taking responsibility.
